It's a long and nice interview, and I believe I've never heard Guy speak so much in any Coldplay interview  Paula, can I add it to Guy's thread in MM? I seriously need to do a massive update to that thread :uhoh: There's also this hilarious video from the Sunday gig soundcheck, you could see how much fun they have working together :nice: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY1AUuOyE24]YouTube - Apparatjik orchestra directors rehearsals Berlin March 27th[/ame]

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
March 29, 2011 - submitted by Big Silly aka Mike, United States of America Q. So what's all the hullabaloo about with the boys pushing back the album release date? Is someone trying to calumniate against Coldplay or was there never a release date to begin with? Splish splash ahoy hoy and thanks The Oracle Replies: Once again it's all been based on hearsay Mike. The release date is and always has been tentatively planned for when it is actually is going to be. It hasn't been pushed back at all so it's quite baffling why these rumours start.

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
March 29, 2011 - submitted by Evelien, Belgium Q. Dearest Oracle, I heard that Mercury is going to stop releasing physical copies of singles. As a Coldplay collector, I must ask: will there come a day that I'll have to find a new hobby? The Oracle Replies: Maybe your hobby will be even more interesting given you may well be having to hunt down singles in the future? It's so sad to see the decision to stop manufacturing physical CD/vinyl singles but I guess Mercury did their homework and decided it wasn't cost effective to produce them. I'm of an age where I still do buy CDs - not always - and still love looking at artwork and reading sleevenotes etc. I own some vinyl from years gone by but alas do not own a record player. It's a sign of the times but one that I must slightly back-up... supply and demand is the biggest part of a commercial market; if there was a demand for physical singles, they'd survive. Let's start a "Buy singles" campaign! Love the question Evelien :nice:

Coldplay, CinemaNX to Produce Film Noir 'Ashes'
yes, and until the other day I still wasn't 100% sure those songs were really his, but he confirmed it :nice:

One of them already did two songs for a Japanese movie :P anyway, I like the sound of it tbh :nice:

Ronnie Vannucci Jr.- "Big Talk"
I really disliked Flamingo while I'm super excited about Ronnie's album, he's already beaten Brandon in my eyes by choosing a producer I love, Alan Moulder, against Stuart Price who I can't stand anymore. But I admit I'm a bit biased cause he's my favourite killer :awesome: As for the band not breaking up I suggest you read this interview from NME :nice:

Apparatjik
I have a feeling the second album is not that far away, there's a snippet of another new song in this video as well, at around 2:45 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5b2SCjCEsA]YouTube - apparatjik[/ame] ..but we need to get to 1000 trees planted soon if we want new music, and we're still far away. Heeeeee I'm getting more and more excited to see them next weekend :wacky:

I don't see 2010 in the timeline, it stops at 2008  ahahah yes, it's a bit like that :D

Older Songs To Return!
Yes it was Phil in Liverpool when he and Chris came down to talk to us after the soundcheck, and he also seemed to like the idea of Life is for Living (but Chris wasn't as much impressed of this suggestion) :)

[9-June-2011] Coldplay @ Heineken Jammin' Festival, San Giuliano Park, Venice, Italy
Pare di si, mi fa un po' ridere però, l'anno scorso conferenza stampa con annuncio dell'80% dei gruppi il 23 Febbraio, quest'anno che il Festival è un mese prima gli unici ufficiali sono gli headliner :dozey:

Parlophone's A&R for Coldplay: LP5 expected "towards the autumn"
They started playing In My Place in October 2000, God Put A Smile and A Rush of Blood in April 2001, so I still don't see why they can't play new songs unless they release an album before the festivals  And with this I think I made my point of view clear enough so I won't answer anymore :escaping:

Parlophone's A&R for Coldplay: LP5 expected "towards the autumn"
I love them too and as much as I would like an album before the summer festivals, I can totally understand if they still need a bit of time to make it how they really want it to be before giving it to us, I don't really want them to feel again like after X&Y. As someone else pointed out they already did the same before releasing A Rush of Blood to the Head, they played a few new songs during some shows, Glastonbury included, why can't they do it this time? I don't see anything wrong about playing new songs before the release, a lot of bands do it, U2 did it as well last summer and the new album is coming out this year.
