  13. Cherie, you need to STFU and go away. What an idiot! Tony Blair could never be compared to Churchill. Cherie Compares Tony To Churchill By Sky News SkyNews - 1 hour 53 mins ago The wife of former prime minister Tony Blair has compared her husband to British WWII leader Winston Churchill. (Advertisement) Cherie Blair told Vanity Fair magazine that her partner would be judged "very well" by history and be "up there with Churchill". But she was less complimentary about her own image as a "First Lady", saying: "Just look at the press cuttings, you couldn't say that it was a triumph, could you?" Mrs Blair revealed that Hillary Clinton had given her advice on how to behave in the role, to "be true to yourself and to the people you know and respect". The QC said she admired Mrs Clinton because she had proved it was possible to be a great First Lady and candidate for US president. She expressed a "deep sense of relief" that she did not have to stand next to Carla Bruni Sarkozy when she came to Britain in the summer. "That isn't really a fair comparison at all, is it?" Mrs Blair said. "Clothes were not an important part of my career, that's for sure... "I don't regard myself as an ugly person, but I don't think of myself as someone who would choose to be a model. "I'm somebody who might be, I'd like to think, a role model for people who want to become lawyers." Mrs Blair also insisted that she privately agreed with her husband's stance over the war in Iraq. She said: "I did not know all the information, but I trusted Tony to make the right decision. "Do I agree with Tony on everything? No... But if you ask me I do trust Tony to make the big decisions wisely - yes."
  14. No, they don't sample anything. I think that he was being genuine really. but with the Internet, it's too hard to detect sarcasm. I saw Bloc Party last night.....the gig reminded me why they're edging to be my favourite band along with Coldplay. They were amazing.
  15. I went to see them tonight. What an amazing show!!!! Possibly my favourite occasion seeing them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They played the one rare song (in a second encore, because we were shouting for it so much) that I have been DESPARATE to hear! It was just crazy hearing it live. :) It was Kentish Town Forum.......perfect size venue.. front row. AWESOME. SETLIST Halo Hunting For Witches Positive Tension Talons Signs Song For Clay Banquet Better Than Heaven Mercury This Modern Love The Prayer So Here We ARe Like Eating Glass Ares Price Of Gas Flux Helicopter SKELETON!!!!
  16. That was quite terrifying, really! It was like that woman had supernatural strength or something!!! Freaky. Being hit by that car, then running away with nothing wrong? :worried:
  17. I'll do it again! :)
  18. I'm really sorry to hear this, Julia........car crashes are so awful. :( I remember this happening to one of my old friends....he had a girlfriend and he had just split up with her.... then a couple of weeks later, she was killed in a car crash  Her last 'status' was something derogatory against him, and he had to live with that being the last thing she left on the internet! it's so, so sad :( I often wondered about this kind of thing....what you leave behind. I have some things written down in notebooks and stuff that I wouldn't want people to read, but if for some terrible reason you passed away suddenly, I'm not sure I'd want people reading my stuff....but I guess they would.
  19. Lolol........I remember seeing those coolplay people somewhere online before! how funny that one of them won?! I hope they're not fanboys..... I agree Mich!!!
  20. I remember going to my uni two years ago...I hadn't really given enough thought to the fact that I was going somewhere where I knew no one. :/ The best advice I can give you Jack.....talk to anyone and everyone you can in the first week! Try to make lots of friends. I didn't do that enough.... and then the people in my flat turned out to be jerks. and we should go watch a basketball match ;) This time next week, you'll look back and think what you were worried about. Just, go out and meet lots of people in the first couple of weeks, thats what I advise :)
  21. I have a brother who's nearly exactly two years younger than me. :nice: I get on fairly well with him...the thing we have in common the most is music :cheesy: We're always swapping music, and without each other, I might not have got into Coldplay... he asked me to buy him their first two cds... and we both loved those albums. We also both love British comedy...anything and everything. Always quoting it to each other...particularly The Office :) I don't know if he's influenced me, maybe... liking good music. My brother is very motivated, he has always earnt money and saved for quite expensive things from a young age, which surprised me. Makes me think I should be more motivated in life. I get jealous of him sometimes, because he is more of a social party animal than I am... but that doesn't really matter :nice:
  22. I heard from a friend that you can never really delete it. When she tried to delete hers, it said that they would keep it 'dormant' in case she decided to come back. A bit scary :stunned: I'm fed up with the height of nosyness that facebook has reached really. It posts stuff you write onto other people's news feeds.... why?! what's it to do with them? I'm sorry to hear about your story though M. :( Very sad. Facebook takes the emotion away from everything.
  23. WOW. hotness! :drunk:
