Thank you very much for posting this! So I'm guessing (and am already pretty sure) that there were no hidden tracks this time round? With 14 tracks I didn't think there was any way but knowing now that 3 are shorter... I thought it was a question worth asking. Thanks again!

I agree. With two instrumentals for each part. Mylo Xyloto and M.M.I.X. / U.F.O and A Hopeful Transmission. If not instrumentals then at least very short tracks... under two minutes. Thats my guess anyway.

Maybe they are waiting until monday so they can take the time to write a well thought out and detailed review. I for one would appreciate that very much!

When taking in a brand new song do you prefer to hear it live first and then hear the studio version? Or do you like to have heard the studio version before you hear it played live? We have had an interesting mix of both on the path to MX but you can answer this question in reagrds to any band or artist. Does how you are first exposed to a song have an impact on your perception of it? Again... this question, while inspired by the build up to the new album, is not limited to Coldplay or MX.

So has anyone heard anything abou this now that it is over. The winners also were able to attend a playback party where they got to hear the album in full right? So that means there are at least a few fans (I'm going to assume that they are at least casual fans if they entered the contest) that have heard the album now. I was hoping that we would hear from some of them...

They had a smaller show tonight where someone filmed Up in Flames on a cell phone. Tomorrow's set at ACL will be the one broadcast for all to see.

If I'm not mistaken I believe that it's gonna be on ACL's youtube page.

I agree in regards to SITS... love that song. As for Up in Flames I am enjoying what we've heard tonight. I hope the studio version keeps it simple. No synths... not that I mind them... I just wouldn't want to hear them over this song. I'm also hoping that the drum beat is taken down a little bit with the piano up front more but it won't ruin the song for me if its not. As others have said it has promise.

Just for the sake of conversation... what 3 songs would have been the singles off each of the first four albums in your perfect world? In no way do I mean to question your opinion or be a smart ass... Im just honestly curious. Anyone else can feel free to answer this as well...

I didn't say that it SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be mind you. I was only saying that due to the business side of the music industry, with it's focus on marketing and promotion, there is a strong chance that a song of this nature will be.

I'm calling it now: 2013 Grammy nominations for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals and dare I say... maybe even Record of the Year if it is released as a single. That may not speak to the overall quality of the song (which I like so far) but you're not gonna release a genre-crossing collaboration between two of the biggest musical acts in the world, especially in today's music industry, and not get nominated for some Grammys. Even if the artists themselves don't care about the awards the corporations behind them do. Grammy nominations and wins = a huge bump in sales and they are well aware that this song is a possible gold mine. They will push it. Plus if the song is actually GOOD (which again I think it will be- this by no means meant to be a negative thread) that will be all the more reason for a nomination. That should be what matters most but as far as I can tell most award shows are about promotion and marketing. It's gonna get media attention. It's gonna be a mainstream hit. It will get nominated for, if not win, a Grammy. That's my prediction!

And you'll be a part of that exclusive first listen! You'll have to give us a full report... lol, maybe TWO reports. One for just pure and simple details (song lengths, any hidden tracks, any more guest vocals) and another one for your personal review.

Italian Plastic I will say this... since you have come on this board I have noticed that you always have very articulate and well thought out comments. You're love for not only music but speaking on the topic of music shows and I have been nothing but impresed on how well you share both of them. I may not always agree with your opinions but I will say well done!

I honestly feel a little sorry for those of you who are not enjoying the direction this album is taking so far and I don't mean that to be a smart ass comment. You guys waited just as long as any of us for new material and I hope that there is a little something for everyone to appreciate on this album. With 14 tracks and reports of this album having a wide range of musical styles I don't think that will be a problem. So for the slightly dissapointed so far... your favorite Mylo Xyloto tracks are still on the way! (I for one am loving THIS song...)

Please DO NOT mistake this question for greed because 14 songs is way more then enough to keep me happy but with so much already on the album I wonder what will end up being the itunes and Japanese release bonus tracks?
