An LP5 Play: In One Act
Location: The Bakery Will: Well that's it... after two years of hard work it's finally done. Johnny: I think it sounds brilliant. I'm really proud of what we've done. Guy: The fans are gonna love this. I can't wait for them to hear it! Johnny: We'd better send it out to EMI before Chris gets out of the bathroom... (enter Chris) Chris: Guys, guess what!?! Guy: Don't tell me you've come up with new outfits... I've only just finished these pants. Chris: No even better... I've just written five more new songs! Johnny: But you were only in there for a few minutes! (phone rings, Will answers) NME Reporter: Hello, I'm doing an article on LP5 and was just wondering when it might be done. Will: ugh... two more weeks. (will hangs up) Chris: How do you guys feel about electric banjo? the end

The New Coldplay songs (Mylo xyloto , Up with birds , Great expectations, etc ) finally registered i
BEST question I have seen on here in days!!! You are spot on... will there be a song to go along with Yellow, Green Eyes, White Shadows and Violet Hill? As of now the only one I have heard is Golden Arrow.

I THINK LP5 WILL BE CALLED 'MYLO XYLOTO'...
I do the same thing... look at the songs one by one. It's amazing to me because for the first time you are seeing the new songs that are now part of the band' history. I remember when song titles like Square One, A Message, and Fix You were new. I would stare at that tracklisting for hours (not at a time) and wonder what the songs were gonna sound like. did the same thing for viva... cant wait to do it again! We need that tracklisting!

ETIAW Sinlgle @ Target for $2.99!
For US fans... I went to Target today to look at some books and when I was done I decided to swing past the music section. So I'm just looking at cds not really interested in what I'm seeing when it jumps out at me... the ETIAW cd single. I couldnt believe it! It's very rare for stores to sell cd singles in the states and even rarer for a big chain store like Target to do so. So anyone who wants a physical copy and doesnt want to wait for one to come in the mail head on over there fast. Im sure they wont last long.

I THINK LP5 WILL BE CALLED 'MYLO XYLOTO'...
I'm not really a member of any other band's message boards (at least not that I post on) so I was wondering about something that maybe someone else can clear up for me. Is this a regular thing on other boards when an album is due? Is is a common thing for people to come on to a band's message board and pretend to know facts, make things up, and try to fool people for fun? Sorry if this is a stupid question but like I said it just had me wondering...

I THINK LP5 WILL BE CALLED 'MYLO XYLOTO'...
as exciting and fun as all the album/tracklisting speculation has been these past few months it just feels like (to me at least) that its run its course and its just time to get some actual facts...

The legacy of "Charlie Brown"
I said something along these lines in another thread and I agree that it has the potential to be up there with Yellow, Clocks, Fix You and Viva la Vida as one of the major hits and an ongoing live favorite. I happen to enjoy it very much at this point but it will be the studio version that clinches it for me. Some of the production choices on Major Minus and ETIAW have me a little worried although for the most part I like those songs as well.

If MTM remains only a b-side, where does it rank among your favorites?
This is not a thread to debate if MTM will remain a b-side only or be included on LP5... there is already a thread for that. Im only asking that if Moving To Mars DOES only stay a b-side then where do you rank it among your favorite b-sides? For me it would be right up there in my top 5 with Things I Don't Understand, One I Love, I Ran Away and Help is Round the Corner.

LP5 Is Currently 85 Minutes Long (Interview with Will and Chris after Glastonbury)
The 85 minurte part was Will making a joke in reference to the joke that Chris was making about LP5 being a jazz record. Chris said something along the lines of it's hard to know when a record is finished when your making a jazz record and Will laughed and said something along the lines of yeah right now its about 85 minutes but we're gonna try to cut it down. They were lauging at eachother throughout this entire exchange. These guys are close friends of course and just like the rest off us they like to bullshit with eachother and have a laugh. Also I dont think Chris was drinking (not that that's important at all) but I think that when he said that he was drinking a beer with ginger in it that was just a funny/sarcastic way of saying that he was drinking a ginger beer... which I have never had before but would imagine is something similar to a root beer. I could be wrong about that.

So does this mean Major Minus wont be on the album?!
Things I Don't Understand... love it! Would have been amazing on X&Y... but in place of what track? A conversation for another thread I guess.

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall / Major Minus / Moving To Mars - CD, vinyl and digital release
Im thinking that the extra tracks on the itunes bundle will be live tracks or maybe even a remix. with the exception of Major Minus I don't think there will be another "new" song. Of course I could be (and hope that I am) wrong. my PREDICTION 01. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall 02. Major Minus 03. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall (Live from ?????) 04. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall (????? Remix)

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall / Major Minus / Moving To Mars - CD, vinyl and digital release
sometimes they do actually do that if im not mistaken... its called the "complete my album" feature. its so if you buy a few songs and then decide later to buy the whole album you get a price break on it for already having bought those songs. not sure if they will do it for a single though... i hope.

Charlie Brown Appreciation Thread
I have a feeling that when its all said and done this song will be right up there with the giants... Yellow, Clocks, Viva la Vida, Fix You... songs that the band will always be known for and always be played live... i think this is gonna be one of those songs.

How do we know?
Im sorry if I missed the answer to this question somewhere along the way (i really do try to look before i post) but I have been wondering about one thing: where was it said that Major Minus is the same song that was once know as Up With the Birds? I know when it was first played live we were calling it Up With the Birds by mistake and that when we got the live feed and we saw the name was actually Major Minus we of course started calling it that... ... but beside our initial mistake on the title of this song have we had any proof that this is the same song that may have once been called Up With the Birds? Or was it always Major Minus and Up With the Birds has always been another song all together? I seem to remember an interview where Chris said that UWTB could end up a duet and MM hardly matches this desrciption unless it was changed drasticly which is of course possible... can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Arctic Monkeys!
are the arctic monkeys still as huge in the UK as they were five years ago or has the hype died down a little? living in the States i just always find myself curious about the UK music scene. a lot of times it seems like its about the next big thing and then... its on to the next next big thing. so where do the AM stand now?

F5 Madness! Live Blog time (Venice, Thursday) [aka continuing voyages of the F5 abusers!] // MEGAPOL
this may be a stupid question but do we have any good speculation on which member of the band's team/crew anchorman is. i thought we pretty much figured out that prospekt was phil, the oracle is debs, and that roadie42 is Matt McGinn... but who is anchorman?
