Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
I still have hope that it will be out by June. Just because they are in the studio working on the three or four songs mentioned in this post doesn't necessarily mean that they don’t have another seven or eight songs finished already. Previous reports have implied that they were at least close. These may have been from another set of songs that have since been abandoned. It wouldn’t be the first time that the band has done this. It’s impossible to know but I find it hard to believe that after all this time they are still at the point in the recording process where they are just “tinkering” around with song ideas.

An Amazing Time to Be a Coldplay Fan
Agreed. But the point of the post was that we are lucky to be able to witness this band's career first hand as it happens- and that includes new album releases. It only makes sense that the highest amount of excitement is going to come around the band's artistic landmarks.

An Amazing Time to Be a Coldplay Fan
This really is an amazing time to be a Coldplay fan and for those of us who have a true love for this band I can't say enough just how lucky we are to be living through it. I have been a member of this board since 2003 and have gone through the pre album board hype three times now. Every little bit of news makes the anticipation even greater and I love every minute of it. I love heading on to this site every day knowing that with every visit there is a chance I will see new song titles, magazine track descriptions, a tracklist, a release date, cover artwork... we are all right in the middle of it now. This is a feeling that future Coldplay fans (our kids, grandkids...) will never know. They will have it all in their hands at once to discover in whatever time they want. They will never know the great anticipation of waiting for a new album or the rush of just hearing the slightest bit of news. We have waited though year in and year out... we will be able to say we were there when it was new and we earned it. For them it will be something that always was but for us it is something that will be. I for one would not have it any other way. We are the great anticipators. We are the original fans. We are the here and now. This is our time and this is our band. I look forward to the amazing conversations we will all have as we discover this new album both first and together. I feel lucky just watching it all unfold... this band in it's prime.

[25-June-2011] Coldplay @ Glastonbury festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, UK
Living in the States I know very little about Glastonbury. As far as the three headliners go is there a bigger sense of honor based on what night you are playing? For example, is closing out sunday night a bigger "event" then the closing out friday? Is saturday the big night to close? I guess what Im asking is what is the TOP top spot?

NME: Albums of 2011 (WOM)
The current issue of NME has a large feature on many of the major album releases expected to be released this year. Radiohead, The Strokes, Kasabian… NME usually takes a week or two to hit the States so I was hoping that our UK board members could share some of the details shared in this issue. I have created a thread about this in the main Coldplay forum but as opposed to posting in each individual band's thread I figured it would be easier to just start a new thread in World of Music. So… what did we learn?

UK's Most Downloaded Albums
These records tend to change fairly quickly as the number of total album downloads increase from year to year. For example Viva was number one in 2008... new albums came out in the years following where more people were downloading albums... those albums rose up on the list. I have a strong feeling that LP5 will be number one on that list by the end of the year.

The Underrated Songs?
Things I Don't Understand is one of those songs that I listen to and ask myself, "how in the hell was this left of the album?" Im not saying that it should have been a single but I do think that it would have made a perfect album track in both theme and sound. In the end though the band left it off and I guess that is what makes it so special to me... a hidden gem and an amazing extra to the X&Y era when Im in the mood to revisit those days. If you have not heard this track yet I highly recommend it (especially if you love X&Y)

Coldplay: Movie Soundtrack Game
Each poster describes a scene from a movie and then the following poster names a Coldplay song that would make the perfect soundtrack to the scene given above them. Then that poster gives their own scene for the poster following them to provide the soundtrack for. I will start things off... The scene in Inception where Ellen Page is learning about how to manipulate the dream state for the first time and is folding the city in half.

what current bands will reach 10+ albums, 30+ years?
So next year we have REM releasing their 15th album and U2 giving us their 13th offering. Both of these bands rose to prominence in the 1980s and have continued remain active 30 years later. My question is what currently popular bands do you think have the potential to have that kind of longevity? Some are well on their way (Radiohead, Pearl Jam) and some have the desire (Coldplay, The Killers) but who do you think will actually do it?

Soundtrack to YOUR Life
This thread is just what it sounds like. If your life was a movie what would the soundtrack be? I can be for your entire life, for your life at this moment, or from some period of time in your past. You can give the reasons for including each song and how they relate to that part of your life or you can just keep it simple and post the tracklisting. Keep in mind that most soundtracks are around 11-13 songs so lets keep it at that. Here is mine: 01. Help is Round the Corner- Coldplay 02. Enterlude- The Killers 03. Country Feedback- REM 04. As You Are- Travis 05. Wishlist- Pearl Jam 06. Intervention- Arcade Fire 07. Do You Realize??- The Flaming Lips 08. In a Little While- U2 09. Run- Snow Patrol 10. No Suprises- Radiohead 11. Exitlude- The Killers 12. The Masterplan- Oasis 13. (Hidden) First Day of My Life- Bright Eyes
