  1. While we're (sort of) on the subject, I can't really think of a cover that I like more than the original... maybe the Beach Boys' version of "Graduation Day." Maybe.
  2. It's ok, I guess. Like far too many bands around these days, it's competent but not particularly interesting to me. I think what tips the scale to the negative for me is the voice. Whiny Thom York/Jeff Buckley approximation that (again) far too many singers seem to employ. Just being honest, don't bash my head in.
  3. Yeah, Jeff Buckley's estate owes quite a bit of gratitude to Leonard for writing that song, don't they? :P (seriously though... I don't even think a lot of people know that's a cover)
  4. Probably not your kind of football, but it's all about the Philadelphia Eagles. :P
  5. My favorite song, now and forever, is George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue." But that has no lyrics I can post. :P
  6. WOOOO FOR GRATUITOUS TOP FIVE LISTS! Top Five Album Openings: 1) Godspeed You Black Emperor - f#a#(infinity) - "The Dead Flag Blues" (creepy monologue sends chills down my spine every time) 2) The Who - Who's Next - "Baba O'Riley" 3) Brian Wilson - Smile - "Our Prayer" 4) John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band - "Mother" 5) Mogwai - Come On Die Young - "Punk Rock"
  7. Apparently a lot of people around here miss hockey, because the local sports channel was showing Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals last year. You know, the Flyers winning in overtime in front of the orange-clad faithful (Tom included :D ), one of the greatest games in Flyers history. We won't talk about Game 7 of that series. :annoyed:
  8. "Pure rock" is such a boring concept to me. I think I'll just savor my copies of the albums they put out that were masterpieces instead.
  9. Ugh. Few things are more irritating to me than receiving a preachy sermon in the guise of "entertainment." :dozey:
  10. I have a terrible memory with names... sometimes I briefly forget people's names that I've known for years. "Hey, uh... Terrence." "My name is Colin." "Whatever."
  11. On the bright side, the AHL is still playing! I can see all the guys who aren't good enough to play for the Flyers playing right across the street for the Philadelphia Phantoms! :idea2: Actually, Antero Nittimaaki or whatever is there... and Joni Pitkanen.
  12. I know! I even watched a couple 76ers games just because I've been desperate for some kind of sports to fill the gap between Eagles games, but the 76ers stink. And basketball is boring.
  13. Um. I know. :) You told me. And i proceeded to use it often. TOM EDWARD PEEEED!!!! :) Remember? oh... well that's not weird at all then. :dozey:
  14. weird thing about that: my middle name is Edward! :o
  15. That's a good point, fanny packs are the most hilariously named garment in existance.
  16. Wait... so what's MY dog's name then? Oh man, I'm going to have to return all those food dishes and collars and everything...
  17. Every time I see this thread I think of that song "For Those of Y'all Who Wear Fanny Packs" by Ben Folds Five.
  18. The Who - "Our Love Was"
  19. That belt buckle kicked my ass the other day.
  20. I don't know, I was leaving that up to everyone else. :P
  21. Please? :)
