  1. that seems to be the trend among certain members here... certain members who have been banned multiple times... :mean:
  2. I was waiting 6 months to get that hour back.
  3. I would do it now because I need the money. U2 obviously don't need the spare cash. So I think it IS being low, because they already have shitloads of money. Plus, I hold U2 to a higher standard. This isn't Random Band X trying to get some promotion (like previous iPod commercials with Jet, Steriogram, etc.), this is the biggest band in the world, and on top of that, a group that has a reputation for fighting for those who are less fortunate around the world. It hurts their credibility in my eyes when they start selling the trendy status-symbol gadget-of-the-week.
  4. "best of" albums... eh.
  5. Believe me, I want him to win as much as you do, but we don't need to post it over and over in every single thread, whether it's relevant or not.
  6. Ben Folds - "Rock Star"
  7. Anybody who's seen my politically motivated posts here knows that I'm no supporter of President Bush, but to say that he bears the most responsibility for the 9/11 attacks in a thread about the guy who actually planned them out is just preposterous. Also, by the time Bush was in that school reading to kids, the attacks were imminent. I have no idea what anybody thinks he could have done at that point to prevent anything. There are lots of valid complaints about Bush, but that's not one of them.
  8. unfamiliair with sarcasm, are we? :wink3:
  9. I'm really tired of talking about politics. It's making me feel stupider just by association.
  10. Just look at those men! ahhhhhh the utter ridiculousness... I love it! The guy trying to rock out with a guitar while decked out in football pads... and for the love of God, they're RAPPING about FOOTBALL!
  11. Yeah, the Filipinos aren't alone in the "puppet leaders installed by Americans" category... (see Chile, Iran, Brazil, Nicaragua, South Korea, Indonesia, South Africa, et al)

  13. Yeah, it doesn't do a lot for our credibility that a communist leader is sitting right there on our doorstep mocking us. And I think the US not only ruled Cuba like a colony during the first half of the 20th centure... it literally WAS a US colony. As you mentioned, we got it from Spain in the Spanish-American war. Along with, I think, Puerto Rico and the Phillippines for some reason.
  14. Fidel Castro is in all honesty probably better for Cuba than whatever dictator the US would have installed had the Bay of Pigs fiasco not been such an unmitigated failure. The people of Cuba more than anything have been hurt by the US's economic sanctions (which have also been a complete failure: rather than unseat Fidel, they only spurred anti-American sentiment, and oh yeah, Fidel is still in power 50 years later). But that's a long-winded rant for another day. :P
  15. I get the feeling that people don't know how to tell the difference between news coverage segments and editorial segments, otherwise you'd see that they're all pretty much giving us the same facts, and that the part of the news coverage that actually can be interpreted as subjective in nature is so minimal that nobody will be influenced by it if they have half of a goddamn brain, whether it's FOX News or CNN. THIS ENTIRE ARGUMENT IS COMPLETELY POINTLESS and just adds to the stupid black vs white/left vs right oversimplification of any and every issue that we get from BOTH sides. Everybody has been listening to too many talking heads blathering on like idiots on both sides. Michael Moore? Rush Limbaugh? Al Franken? Bill O'Reilly? They all just look like shouting puppets to me.
  16. That's not the point that I was trying to make. My point is that if you just get your news from multiple sources, your preconceived notions of which stations are "liberal" and which are "conservative" are completely irrelevent.
  17. I get really tired of people whining about "the liberal media" or how FOX news is biased, blah blah blah... Simple solution: use more than one news source. :idea2:
  18. hmm... this IS dull. but it is a lot less depressing than watching them sell iPods. :/ n
  19. yeah, as you can see, i've decided that i'm being completely bluntly honest with people who are going to make threads like this. :P
  20. yeah it's officially spam now that it's in two threads.
  21. this doesn't sound like coldplay. this just sounds boring as all hell. i appreciate instrumentals as much as anybody, but you actually have to DO something with melody if there's not going to be anything else. :snore:
  22. See? Dr. Peed's medical advice is not to be taken lightly.
  23. Forgive the xenophobia, but I think that this poll should be restricted to Americans who are eligible to vote... just for the sake of getting an idea of what the voters here actually think. :P
