oh, i thought of one: Polyphonic Spree. there's no way i'm missing that one, because from what i hear that seems to be the only thing that exists that approaches the sheer bliss of a flaming lips concert.

ah man... right now nothing. i could go see Pedro the Lion tonight, but i don't really have any money. then Pearl Jam is coming in a couple months (and were just here last week) but Pearl Jam isn't worth 40-50 bucks. i missed bright eyes last week too... jesus. oh well, i got to see the flaming lips again, so as far as i'm concerned, i never need to go to another concert again, because nothing will ever beat that.

yeah everyone who's ever been 14-17 years old has at least thought about suicide at one point or another. just have to keep an open eye to do our best to save the people who actually do it. unfortunately it's hard to tell who's actually serious about it and who just needs attention. and then there's the people who hide everything inside and then do it and it seems to come out of nowhere (we had one of those on campus just last week, i knew him but wasn't really friends with him) *sigh* :(

yeah i'm always afraid of cleaning mine off other than wiping it lightly with a paper towel because i'm scared of damaging the screen.

right but just because there's no god to believe in doesn't mean it's not a religion. depends on how strict your definition of the word "religion" is, i guess.

i've kinda got this Theravada Buddhism thing going on, but i wouldn't call myself a Buddhist. not yet anyway.

what should scare me but doesn't? - terrorism - SARS (edit - not SARS but infectious diseases in general. the big one's yet to come... supposedly. :shrug: ) - the shady neighborhoods in west philly - my dietary habits what shouldn't scare me but does? - anything with an exoskeleton (spiders, ants, crayfish, you name it) - the future - Donald Rumsfeld - strangers (not scared as in i fear for my life but scared as in i have a difficult time approaching anybody i don't already know)

they don't really "punish" me anymore.... and i haven't been immature enough to do something that warranted a punishment in years anyway. besides that i don't even live with my parents anymore, so they only way they could punish me is by waiting until i desperately need money for some reason and eventually resort to asking them for a loansky and then they can laugh in my face.

and for that we are all eternally grateful. :D

well maybe it's an american thing then, because spiderman was the hottest shit ever last year. and the only people i've met who had read the lord of the rings trilogy before they got hyped over the movie are either my dad or college professors. but i've talked to a few englanders who have read them. so who knows? :shrug:

yeah i've heard the studio version of that one too, for that very reason. :roll: but the real kick in the pants was that the one i heard was one of only two damn songs on the album that i hadn't heard live versions of, "the Gloaming." (i've hidden the live ones i had in a faroff corner of my hard drive so the songs seem somewhat fresh when i get the album.

ever notice how turning something into a movie always makes it cooler? people who liked x-men were always the biggest nerds ever until they made a movie out of that. and what percentage of the audience for the lord of the rings movies actually read the and liked them before they knew about the movies? (i did, but that's beside the point :P) and let's not even get started with spiderman... ok, rant over. :D
