  1. I actually saw the japanese movie that this is based on a few months ago. It was pretty good, and it looks like they've redone a lot of the original shot-for-shot. I'm curious to see if they can string together the plot so that it actually makes sense, because that was my biggest complaint with Ju-on.
  2. I've got to say I think they sound more like Simon and Garfunkel than any of the other bands mentioned. "Sails" has a little Flaming Lips in it, I guess. It's all right. I'm not going to rush out and buy the album, though.
  3. Actually it was Iggy Pop who spoke those words in the Mogwai song. :P
  4. my new name would be TOM THUNDERCLAP! there's a name you can set your watch to.
  5. but now i'm back. with a new avatar to boot. :D (that one actually IS my cat)
  6. AW DANGIT STUPID USA LOST TO THE STUPID FINNS AND NOW I'M ANGRY.
  7. I didn't really mean that as a joke... at all. But I'm glad Jeff found it amusing.
  8. and double-posting all over the place, too. :P
  9. I'm too lazy to be bothered with that. I'm on summer vacation, screw it. :P
  10. People come and go. Life goes on.
  11. The "in your face" attitude or whatever you want to call it at coldplay.com looks more like childish immaturity to me. Which is why I came here after almost two years at coldplay.com and haven't regretted it once. :D So I really couldn't care less if they think we're boring or stupid or whatever. There's no way to really argue on the internet without looking like an idiot anyway.
  12. Speaking of Neil Young, Built to Spill's cover of "Cortez the Killer" bores me to tears. :P
  13. Devo - "Gates of Steel"
  14. Roger Waters is a brilliant lyricist, it's too bad he became completely full of himself and turned into a huge asshole. :P
  15. was it? I wasn't even around for the last ones, although I think I was given the award uncontested the year before that.
  16. I love these threads because you can post anything that's only remotely relevant to the topic and nobody will care. Hey look! More Beach Boys lyrics about change and aging and loss of innocence! Dove nested towers the hour was Strike the street quicksilver moon Carriage across the fog Two-Step to lamp lights cellar tune The laughs come hard in Auld Lang Syne The glass was raised, the fired rose The fullness of the wine, the dim last toasting While at port adieu or die A choke of grief hard hardened I Beyond belief a broken man too tough to cry Surf's Up Aboard a tidal wave Come about hard and join The young and often spring you gave I heard the word Wonderful thing A children's song A children's song Have you listened as they played? Their song is love And the children know the way That's why the child is father to the man ohhhhhh I love that song.
  17. Liars - "If You're a Wizard Than Why Do You Wear Glasses?"
  18. ugh... well the predictable thing to do here would be to post something full of those smilies now... but now that I've said that, you won't be expecting that... hmm... :vanish:
  19. And really hot. :charming:
  20. This song is perfect for my life right now because my life (as with most people, I think) is a never-ending cycle of boredom, restlessness, and mundane activities that nobody, including me, cares about. The Beach Boys - "Busy Doin' Nothin'" I had to fix a lot of things this morning 'Cause they were so scrambled But now it's okay I tell you I've got enough to do The afternoon was filled up with phone calls What a hot sticky day, yeah yeah yeah The air is cooling down Take all the time you need It's a lovely night If you decide to come You're gonna do it right Drive for a couple miles You'll see a sign and turn left For a couple blocks Next is mine, you'll turn left on a little road It's a bumpy one You'll see a white fence Move the gate and drive through on the left side Come right in And you'll find me in my house somewhere Keeping busy while I wait I get a lot of thoughts in the morning I write 'em all down If it wasn't for that I'd forget 'em in a while and so on in that manner.
  21. I'm glad too.
  22. so this is christmas, and what have we done? another year over, a new one just begun I want... Honestly, all I really want for Christmas is to not have to spend it with my family. Because my family (and especially a certain member) always make me horribly depressed when I have to be there for more than half a day. :dozey:
  23. Can't complain. My lengthy absence (of a week  ) is mostly attributable to the fact that my computer has not been in a good working condition for about a week.
