What radio station? where do you live??? Oh, and I got a text from my daughter's ex-boyfriend. He works at Verizon Amphitheater, and we saw him on Sunday. He unloads trucks, refills water, just general work backstage. He saw the guys walking around, but couldn't approach them. Anyway, he texted me that he cleaned out their dressing room and found some papers of theirs on the walls, so he's sending them to me. He said it was a schedule, but I don't know if that's a setlist or a schedule of their day. If I'd known he was cleaning out their dressing room, I would have told him exactly what to look for, and um, borrow? lol

My favorite Will song is LIT2. The guy is a maniac on those drums. I am just mesmerized when I watch him. I wish someone had a video of just him on the drums, seems everyone always focuses on Chris, which is fine...but Will's drums :bomb::wacky::dead:

My daughter's ex-boyfriend works at Verizon, unloading the trucks, restocking water, etc. We saw him when we were waiting for the meet and greet, he'd seen the boys but didn't talk to them or anything. He just sent me a text saying that he cleaned out their dressing room and found some papers and is mailing the to me. :) He said it had their schedule on it, but it may be a setlist, which I got from the sound guy. But still, papers from their dressing room!

I was trying to edit this but it kept crashing, but anyway, the most recent Bruce concert I went to was April 2008. I'd love to see Coldplay have that kind of staying power - like all those classic bands, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Bruce. Hell, even really old guys like Neil Diamond are still perfoming. Chris has that age complex thing going - but he's still a baby and has another 25+ years left :laugh3:

And we know that Chris is a Bruce Springsteen fan. I just hope he follows Bruce's lead and is still performing when he is 58, like Bruce is! I saw my first Bruce concert when Chris was just 4 years old. lol

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
Yes, I got to meet him, and I spoke with Will - he's my guy. Nicest guys. Here's a write up of the story. I've posted it a couple of places here, so some of you may have read it. Back in March, I won a radio contest for Cocktails with Coldplay - it was supposed to be like a cocktail party, you know...so I've been dying for the last 4 months. So here's the story: To be honest, it was a little disappointing. We got there at 5:30, and were supposed to be at the KROQ tent between 6-6:15, and don't be late. Well, the gate didn't even open until 6, and when we got there, the line was more than halfway to Wild Rivers. So there would be no way we'd get to KROQ by 6, especially with the long walk between the gate and vendor/stage area. We finally got in and got to the KROQ tent at 6:20. I showed my id, and they gave my husband and me wristbands with B on them. A few minutes later, they led us around to the left side of the venue, and down to the promotion area. There were some tables and chairs and KROQ banners, and it was catered with burgers/hotdogs/fruit/chips but we had to pay for the Cocktails. There was an open door to the backstage area that was guarded by security, but we could see the stage. We were there just hanging out until about 7:45, after Kitty, Lewis and Daisy, then they led everyone in a line around the back, where the trucks and tour buses are. We stood there for another 45 minutes, not quite knowing what the delay was. Nelly, their head of security came out and gave us a brief rundown of how it was going to work, because the band was running way behind schedule. We were in 4 groups of 15-20 people, A-D, and would wait with our group, then the band would come out and take a group picture, with each group. We were in B, but it didn't really matter. More waiting, and Amadou and Mariam finished their set while we were waiting. And waiting. Finally, finally, we were told no personal cameras, no autographs, there was no time. Then the band came out and went to two groups, then I went up to Will and started talking to him, just stupid fan stuff, like how great Saturday's show was and how much I've enjoyed the 3 shows I've seen on this tour. He thanked me, and said he hoped I would enjoy the show. Chris also walked up to me and shook my hand, and he shook my husband's hand and apologized for the confusion and delay. Jonny and Guy walked right by us, to get with our group. I followed Will and stood right next to him in the back for our group shot. I'm 5'11" and he's about the same height, so it was ok that we were in the back, kind of smooshed up against him. I have no idea where Jonny and Guy were in the picture, or even where my husband was, lol. I couldn't take my eyes off of Will, lol. But my husband said Chris had his arm around him in the group shot. Then security started telling us to go to our seats, because Magnificent was playing. We walked past Gwyneth who was sitting in a box seat, she's so pretty in person. We got to our seats, Sec 3, Row U, right on the aisle, when the Jay Z song was ending. Our view was awesome from those seats, and since we were kind of on the side, we could see behind the gauze curtain before LIT started. The rest of the show was amazing, of course, and they ran right up our aisle on the way to C stage, hand slaps from Chris and Will. During Viva Remix, people started leaving, VIP types, so my husband made his move down closer to the front. We were about 10 rows back for Politik, in some random empty seats, then when they went backstage before The Scientist and LIT2, we walked down to Row 2...so close to the front. We were kind of in an aisle, so security told us we had to go back to our seats, but there were empty seats in row 3, so we just moved over there. And stayed there until the end. We were giving a neighbor girl and her friend a ride home, they had bought my extra tickets from me, so we found them, and walked out gathering butterflies. That's when I saw Brooke, and stopped to talk to him for a couple of minutes. I also went up to the sound guy and asked for a setlist. At first he said he thought they were gone, but the other guy handed one to him. Overall, a great experience, and a fabulous show, but there is still a bit of sting from the meet and greet. I was so nervous all day yesterday, i couldn't eat, and I kept thinking about what I was going to say to them, and in the end, I just blabbered like some fangirl, yeah, a 43 year old fangirl. KROQ will be emailing out the group pics they took of everyone, so I hope at least it turns out ok. I got some great pics, because I was able to bring in my dslr with a zoom. So that's my Coldplay meeting story. Yes, I'm thrilled I got to see them up close and meet them, but it was too short, and rushed. The radio station is supposed to email the picture to me, so I can't wait to see it.

Hi Chrissy girls, I was at the concert Sunday night in Irvine, and I got a few good pics of Chris. Oh and I got to meet him, too. He shook my hand, and we're waiting for the picture where he has his arm around my husband.

Aww, I noticed that too. Gwyneth was in the Box seats in Sec 6 when we arrived right before the show, we walked past her and several people were taking pictures of her, so she must have moved down to the pit during the show. I will come to Hawaii if Coldplay comes there, my two very favorite things - Hawaii and Coldplay.

Aww, thank you. It was an amazing show, and we had very good seats. We were right on the aisle they used to get to C stage, and I got a bad pic of them starting to walk up. Believe it or not, they were *too close, I had my zoom lens, lol. Towards the end of the first encore, people started leaving so my husband got the bright idea to move to the front. We had wristbands from the meet and greet, and were in orchestra, so we just walked down the stairs like we belonged. First, we moved down about 10 rows, then my husband scoped out empty seats. We walked all the way up to the 2nd row and were standing kind of half in the aisle, then security said we had to go back to our seats. There were empty seats in row 3 right in front of Chris, so we acted like those were our seats.;) And stood there for the Scientist and LIT2. Jonny looked right at me, he's way better looking in person, not that he doesn't look good in pics, but in person, oh, those green eyes, and that smile... whew But Will, oh, Will. He is just so nice, listening to me ramble like the loser fangirl that I am...the 43 year old fangirl. Not quite how I wanted to meet him, but oh well. I was so nervous all day yesterday that I couldn't eat all day, lol. I posted more pics in the live thread http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55695&page=14 And here is the link to my photobucket album. http://photobucket.com/lfdianne_coldplayJuly2009 On the way out, I stopped and talked with Brooke the roadie for a minute and stopped at the sound table and asked for a setlist, which they gave me. Got lots of butterflies, too. It truly was an awesome experience, but now I'm sad with the after-concert letdown, and knowing that they won't be back for awhile.

You know, I didn't really pay attention, but it was around 9ish? It was over right at 11, due to the noise curfew.

Being so close to the band was just flat out amazing. My husband and I walked down to the 3rd row for The Scientist and LIT2. We had row U orchestra seats and when people started leaving, we made our move. There was no one in front of us in the seats, but security was standing in the way and we didn't want to even talk to them in case they made us move back. I'm tall and Jonny looked right at me a few times, and flashed his bright smile. We had briefly, very briefly, met them for a photo op backstage right before the show started. But Im sure he didn't rememember that I was one of the 80 who were back there. The girl who had the seats next to us said the band manager was sitting there for most of the show. I thought it was better and more fun than Saturday's show. I asked Brooke the roadie on the way out which show he thought was better and he wasn't sure. I told him that I'd seen him at Saturday's show, too. He said he likes the stadium shows, but from my perspective, as a fan in the 19th row on the floor, behind the massive pit, I prefer Verizon Amphitheater more than the huge stadium. Pit would have just put me over the edge, lol. How did you manage to get those tickets? But now I'm a bit sad it's all over. 4 concerts in 13 months just isn't enough. And with the disappointment of the rushed meet and greet, it's a let down after months of anticipation. But they are my very favorite band, and were genuinely nice for the 30 seconds I got to speak to Will and my husband spoke with Chris. And Chris apologized to us for having to rush through it - it was management scheduling, I think, and trying to plan too much for one day, with the Capitol records private concert earlier in the day, all the way in Hollywood, then it's also and LA show and filled with VIPs and celebrities, and I heard there was an afterparty, too. So my little meet and greet suffered from the overscheduling.

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
I was lucky to have had the chance, but still a bit disappointed. It was Cocktails with Coldplay promotion that I won. But due to their scheduling, we ended up having the cocktails without coldplay, then lining up in the backstage truck area for an hour. Then the "cocktails with coldplay" ended up being us in 4 groups, with a mass shot of each of the groups with the band. I'm a huge Will-luver, so I kind of followed him and spoke to him for a few seconds and I'm in our group shot next to him. The radio station will be emailing those to us sometime. But I did get to talk to him, love him, and was smooshed against him in the group shot, so i suppose I can die happy now. lol Here's the link to the photobucket album I put a lot of my pics in. I may still add more.http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/lfdianne/

Uh, oh, incrinimating? lol We had great seats - Sec 3, Row U, and on the aisle they ran up to C stage. Chris stopped and gave the girl who pushed from behind us an autograph. I'm so sad it's all over now - months and months of waiting.

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
Hi Berry-girls, I was at the Irvine show last night, and got some pretty good pics of Guy. Plus I kinda almost met him. I won tickets for a meet and greet, which unfortunately, ended up being rather disappointing to due scheduling, but he is just darling when he's like 3 feet away, even though the whole meet and greet lasted about 5 minutes with 80 people. Anyway, here are a few pics that I took. I was on Jonny's side, so Guy's pics are a bit farther away.

I just put up a lot of pics from last night in the live thread. We were on Jonny's side, so there are lots of him. Plus Will is my favorite, so there are lots of him, too. Guy was farther away and with Jonny and Will in front of me, it was hard to concentrate on Guy - although he is darling in person (I had a meet and greet with the band last night, which to be honest was kind of disappointing due to scheduling and only lasted for about 30 seconds), but my story is there. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55695&page=14

I just uploaded 93 pics to photobucket. Some are great, some are good and some are ok. It was so nice to have my "good" camera (Nikon D40, with a 55-200mm zoom), but it was still hard with the lighting to get all great shots. I'll post some and put up a link to the album. And as soon as I get the email from KROQ of the group shot, the one where I'm RIGHT next to Will, I'll get that up, too. I haven't seen it yet, so I don't even know where my husband was or the rest of the band. My eyes were only on Will ha ha, but my husband said Chris had his arm around him in the group shot. I'm still on a Coldplay high from two nights of concerts, but there is a letdown, too. Not only because the meet and greet was kind of a dud (yes, even though I got to meet Will and Chris and brushed by Jonny and Guy), it was so short, but the letdown also comes from knowing that they won't be back here for a few years. I've seen 4 of their concerts in the last 13 months. Ok, for some pictures, which I know you all have been waiting for.

Verizon has a very small area in front of the stage. The pit held less than 200 people. The side ramps were only about 10-15 feet long. B stage was actually almost another C stage. It was up in the second section, and C stage was up on the lawn. So last night, they played in the middle of the fans twice. http://www.livenation.com/venue/verizon-wireless-amphitheater-irvine-ca-tickets# B stage was up in Sec 4 or 5, I couldn't exactly tell from where we were sitting, in Sec. 3. C stage was on the front of the lawn on the right.

Will-luvers, here are some of my pics from last night in Irvine. Let me just tell you, Will is HOT in person, and very sweet. I so wish I could have spoken to him a bit more and the whole meet and greet wasn't so rushed and lasted more than 30 seconds. Enjoy :)
