  1. Ok, Jonnygirls, this may be the best pic that I took last night in Irvine. Enjoy:)
  2. Billie Jean - and Chris's improv song was hilarious. He had some trouble with it and joked about it.
  3. July 19 Setlist: LIT Violet Hill Clocks In My Place Yellow Glass of Water Cemeteries of London 42 Fix You Strawberry Swing Talk (Dance Version)/God Put a Smile (B) Hardest Part (B) Postcards from Far Away (B) Viva la Vida Lost Green Eyes © DWNC © Billie Jean © (Viva Remix) ** Politik Lovers in Japan DAAHF ** The Scientist LIT2 (The Escapist)
  4. I got one. I'll post it in a while. But it was the same as Saturday. No "Rainy Day" as someone had mentioned. I have pics too. My husband is saying we rushes the stage but we got down to row 3 center for LIT2.
  5. So I met Will tonight - for all of about 20 seconds :( The meet and greet I had waited so eagerly for month for was kind of a dud. The band was running really late, and it came down to grouping the winners for Cocktails with Coldplay in groups of about 15-20, and waiting for nearly 2 hours. Then we were led backstage, and the band came out, posed for a group pic with each group, and raced to get on stage. BUT, I was up against Will in the picture - literally up against him. I followed him from another group over to ours, and tried chatting for a few seconds. I told him how great I thought last night's show was, that this is the 4th time this tour that I've seen them, and he thanked me, and said he hoped I enjoyed tonight's show. I shook Chris' hand and my husband told me that Chris put his arm around him in the group shot. I was glued to Will and coultn't take my eyes off him to even notice where Jonny and Guy were in our group. Guy is just the cutest thing, and Jonny is darling, especially when he smiles. So 4 months of waiting for today to arrive, almost 3 hours of waiting to get in and to wait for this big "Cocktails with Coldplay" party, all for about 30 seconds with the band. But I was smooshed up against Will, so I am happy. They were very nice and apologized for having to rush through this, I'm sure they didn't have anything to do with scheduling, because it was so late. I managed to get in my good camera with zoom, and took over 250 pics, so I need to go through them and get some up to all you Will-luvers.
  6. Were you at the KROQ party? I was, and I was very disappointed. Not blaming the band by any means, i think their management overscheduled them today, and the meet and greet was kind of disorganized. We waited for nearly 2 hours for less than 5 minutes with the band. Just enough time for a group shot, there were 4 groups of about 20, that the band just went from group to group from and posed. This was while Magnificent was playing, so it was really cutting it close. But when it comes down to it, I was right up against Will in the group picture, I kind of tailed him from one group shot to ours, and spoke to him for a few seconds- and he thanked me whenI told him that I thought Saturday's show at Home Depot Center was amazing, and hoped I would enjoy the show. I shook hands with Chris, and my husband says Chris put his arm around him in the picture - I was glued to Will, so I don't even know where anyone else was. I just transferred 250 pics from my camera to my computer - I brought in my Nikon dslr with my zoom lens, and they didn't search my purse closely enough. Our seats were good, and right on the aisle that they ran up to get to C stage, so they high fived us as they ran up. Amazing. Oh and we saw Gwyneth, she was sitting in the boxes in Sec. 6. The during Viva Remix, some people started leaving. Since we were in Orchestra and had wristbands (from the meet and greet), we just walked down the stairs about 10 rows for a song, then my husband cut across the section, and we got down to row 3 for LIT2. Amazing. But it's late, so I need to go to bed. But this show was better than last night, I thought. Chris was more talkative, and we had better seats, which probably added to it. I'm still on a Coldplay high, but am sad that after 5 months, it's over. And on the way out, I asked one of the computer/sound guys for a set list, so he gave me one from tonight.
  7. We're supposed to meet up with the KROQ people at 6. I'm excited and nervous - and I'm hoping that we can actually talk to the band and take pictures. I have no idea the protocol or anything about how it will all work out. But I'll be in the same room, for a few minutes at least. I'm clearing off my memory card now for my "good" camera - and I hope they'll let me bring it in. Those in the pit - you're going to have the best time! THe pit last night was HUGE, and even though I was only 19 rows back, it was pretty far away. Gotta go change, and get ready to go - we are leaving the house in half an hour, but we only live 10 minutes away from Verizon. We'll be there way early, but that's ok. I'll get pics up tomorrow - I've never posted pictures, so I have to figure out how, unless someone wants to PM me or post how exactly to do it. Talk to you all later tonight or tomorrow! Wish me luck that I don't do or say something stupid or shake too much or pass out.
  8. Oh, one funny thing last night. We got there really early, so I had time to just walk around. I easily found C stage, and there was some security surrounding it. I asked some people who were sitting right next to the stage if they knew what that platform was for. They thought it was handicapped seating, and I told them that the band would come sing a few songs there. They looked at me as if was from another planet. I just said to them, "You'll see." I would have loved to have seen their faces, lol. I think my very favorite part was watching Will play LIT2. You all in the pit were so lucky to see the interactions between the band, it was hard to see a lot of detail from where we were, standing the whole time, watching in between people's heads, and I'm tall! I'm still hoarse, but I'm getting ready to leave at 5 for tonight's show. I'm going to bring my dslr camera, it's a fairly small one, but I reallly really want to have my good camera for the meet and greet with the band.
  9. Where are your seats? I'm in sec 3, row U. And I'll be there after I meet the boys. I'm so excited especially after the phenominal show last night.
  10. Wow, just wow. The boys did an amazing show, as usual. Once I realized that my little point and shoot wouldn't take decent pics, I just enjoyed the show, and I'll relive it with other's great pics. I was on the floor, 19 rows back from the pit. The pit, btw, was huge, so we were farther back than I thought we'd be. They sounded incredible, but it didn't seem like Chris used the side ramps as much as he has before. And LIT2 live? Will on drums is nothing short of fabulous. Watching him makes my arms hurt. I'm hoarse this morning. It didn't sound like the crowd was very loud, and Chris mentioned it a few times, but I don't know if it was typical LA crowd, or it's the wide open layout of Home Depot Center. But there was no sitting down in our section, unlike Honda Center last year where people sat most of the time. The butterfly cannons were cool, but there was the slightest breeze so the butterflies were blown to the stage. I can't wait to do it all again tonight - then I'll be so sad it's over. Chris said they won't be back to LA again for a long time.
  11. E2, Row 19. I'll be wearing my blue Coldplay butterfly tshirt. And my son will be with me. We're both tall. I'd love to find some Coldplayers, because we're the best fans, you know. I can't get there until after my daughter's soccer game at 4:45 in Fullerton, but then it's just down the 91, and only 25 miles.
  12. Me too! And I just sent my first tweet from my phone - so I'll try to tweet a bit. I'm not getting there until after 6:30 though, but I have seats. My twitter is lfdianne. I can't wait!!!
  13. Oh, I would so love to be in the pit, but I have tix in E2, so those are ok. I can't get there until about 6:30pm anyway - my daughter has a 4:45 tournament soccer game, and I have to be there for that. I just hope parking won't be a nightmare that late, I may spring for VIP parking. Good luck to all you Pit People. Drink lots of water in line!
  14. The "secret show" is a promotion from Star 98.7 radio and I think Capitol records. Roughly 20 lucky winners (and their guests) from the radio station and that soy milk company will be in the audience. It was a big deal on the radio this week, with texting the code word given out twice a morning. Then you could also enter on the 98.7fm website. And it is sometime on Sunday. I tried and tried to win, but no luck this time.
  15. What are you doing to get points? I just joined rock-a-holics this week, and have sent in 40 online entries. I click everywhere I can click and play slots, lol.
  16. I hope you win! I've been trying at 98.7 every day, texting the code word, and playing all their dumb games to get enough points to "buy" chances for their drawing. Although, I shouldn't complain. I'm going to Saturday's concert, and then I did win tickets to July 19 show (after I'd bought tickets), but the tickets I won include a cocktail party with the band before the concert! I think there were only 20 winners or so, plus guests. I'm beyond excited that I will get to meet them on Sunday :D
  17. Hi, on another thread , you said you couldn't get to the show, so you were selling your ticket. If you win these tickets, are they going to fly you out? Good luck, in any case.
  18. 2 days! Finally! I bought my tickets five months ago - too long to wait!
  19. I'm bringing my 13 year old son to this concert - he's very excited, too. But I'm not coming from as far away as you - I'm only about 45 miles away. Do you have other plans out here besides the concert? Have a great time!
  20. So the Cocktails with Coldplay is really going to happen - not that I had any doubts, but since the radio station called me today and gave me the details, now it's for real. I had a bunch of questions for them, but I was at Harry Potter and they left a voicemail. OH well. I just can't believe I'm going to meet them! I'm going to Saturday's concert, too, and I'm hoping they'll sign my LRLRL cd :) My phone doesn't tweet, but I'll get pics up sometime on Monday.
  21. This is, I think, my favorite R42 blog. His last two paragraphs were great- "I spot Steve chatting with Dave Holmes outside the dressing room and suddenly feel like a star-struck teenager. In order to get the gall up to speak to the guy, I down a double espresso. The mixture of caffeine buzz and feeling like a cheesy little fanboy means that all I can manage to say to him is "Thank you so much". I realise that I'm quite simply making a tit of myself and so excuse myself as fast as I appeared. With that, I suddenly have sympathy for every nervous and excitable kid that shakes hands with the band at a meet and greet. Time to hit send and fold up the laptop." That's ME, except I'm not an excitable kid, but an excitable 43 year old who gets to meet the band on Sunday, and I'm nervous and excited beyond belief. Hopefully, I won't "make a tit" of myself, lol.
  22. Well, he is using some props - like his umbrella in LIJ. Maybe he'll bring out a cape for SS:laugh3:
  23. Oh, well, so much for getting there early. I have seats in E2, and my 13 year old son is coming with me. But my daughter is in a soccer tournament this weekend, and it was just posted that her last game is at 4:45. The tourny is in Fullerton, which isn't that far, but it will be a long hot day. Good luck to all of you with pit tickets.
