1. Not necessarily. I spoke with the birthday couple from Salt Lake City and they drove all night, they were in line just behind me. They are huge fans. I personally know the blond girls - who tweeted like crazy. The one who sang the lyrics goes to my daughter's high school. They are both huge fans. The ladies with the sign were in line before I arrived at noon. Jimmy didn't have a ticket and was hoping for a plus 1, he was in line super early, too. Tidal did an instagram contest last minute, showing a picture of the Mayan, and saying the first few fans who showed up would get tickets. I would say all the people who arrived really early were big fans, and they were the ones in the video - why else would you wait all day?
2. Haha. Awesome. I know a few of those people and spoke with the others :) I don't think the birthday couple from SLC can come back again though :( And Jimmy is the guy with the hat, and I don't think he's coming back either. So excited for tomorrow night!
3. :laugh3: True story I swear. I saw Coldplay in Feb 2012, once at Jimmy Kimmel and the next night at the I Heart Radio benefit show. They had to reschedule the Jimmy Kimmel show a night because Chris was sick. But they couldn't reschedule the I Heart show. It was at a super small venue - Club Nokia, and I was in the front row. You know how Chris sweats like crazy during a show? Well, I got sweated on, and probably breathed on too. Two days later, I was sick, really sick, which turned into bronchitis. It was awful and I completely blame Chris 100% for getting me sick...but I wasn't *that* mad because well, it's Chris. LOL I"ve been to many of their intimate shows, like that Club Nokia show, and the KROQ Red Bull Sound Space, and a few others, and they are a-maz-ing. You can actually hear the instruments being played, and not just through the sound system.
4. LFDianne replied to Coeurli's topic in Everglow
All I heard was Chris on piano and his vocals, Jonny on guitar, Will on drums with his vocals, and Guy on bass. I am horrible at remembering lyrics, so I can't help any of you there. I was just standing there thinking that I loved it, and Chris's vocals were spot on. He said the title before he played it, but I couldn't hear him, and then when he played, I heard the "Everglow" and that's when I figured it out. Sorry! You'll have to wait until the Tidal show tomorrow and hope they play it!

I heard it last night. Piano ballad. I loved it, it was beautiful. And that's all I'm going to say...
6. More like 24+14 hours. The rescheduled show is Saturday night.
7. ] I ended up winning last minute, like really last minute, tickets from KIIS FM. The crazy story is on the other thread :)
8. The Album Release party was taped to be a 30 minute show, with an interview and a few songs. The Belasco/Tidal concert is more of a "real" show. Chris said during the radio interviews he did last week that they'd perform 4 new songs and 8 old songs for the Tidal livestream.
9. Not at all. Maybe more like Yellow I think? What do you guys think?
10. Oh my good lord. I had been trying for days and days to win these tickets. Today, at 3:15, I was in line at the bank, and checked Instagram, saw KIIS FM post with a picture of the band and a note saying to check their Facebook page, that there were last minute tickets. Clicked to fb, and they just wanted a comment. I was shameless, but professed my love for Coldplay. Within minutes, I had a dm from them saying to send my name, age and phone number, and I had to reply before 3:40. I immediately did, but they weren't accepting my message! I posted again on my comment, and they pm'd again, saying to email an Iheart radio rep. I did immediately, told my daughter to get in the car, we had to leave NOW. It was 3:40 - I had no other details, nothing, but I also live 65 miles away from Burbank and knew we needed to get on the road that minute. LA traffic is the WORST. An iHeart representative called at 4:20 with the details - thank god we were on the road. It took us 2 hours 45 minutes, following google maps crazy but "fastest possible route" to get there. I had no idea where I was driving, just trusted google maps. We arrived at the studio/theater, and I was shaking. I hadn't even had time to process, and I was so stressed out because I thought we'd be late! But we made it. Got checked in, got my bar wristband, which I didn't even redeem for my free drinks! We were in the 4th standing row right in front of Jonny. I started talking with the people around us, and they were ALL industry, worked for iHeart, or knew someone. They thought it was cool that I'd won. Elvis Duran spent a few minutes interviewing the boys - they are so cute and happy, and look to be in a really good place. And damn, they all look so dang handsome. Elvis spoke with all of them, and made a point not to let Chris dominate. haha. They played AHFOD which I like even better, this was the 3rd time I've heard it - having heard them play it twice at James Corden. Will bangs the crap out of the drums, Jonny is totally rocking on it. Love it. ASFOS - awesome. Then Everglow. OMG. I'm in love. I absolutely loved it - it's a ballad, Chris plays piano the whole time. Beautiful. Then Viva, and as Trojanchick says, it was hilarious, that Chris just kept sitting at the piano playing away, Will kept looking at Guy and talking to him, and looking over at Chris, but they kept playing. They finally got his attention, and he was all Oops, I fucked up, don't air that one, and with all these bigwigs in the room. They played it again, and it was so good to hear again and see Will banging away. Then AOAL - such a fun song. Elvis had asked them if they were going to play Amazing Day and Chris was all um, no. We hadn't planned it, but I guess we could after the taping is over. So after the 5 songs, the taping stopped and they played Yellow and Amazing Day, and we held onto our loved ones and swayed along. It was awesome and I still can't believe I got to go. It was all over in an hour, but I'm so glad we were able to be there and get there in time! So far, I love the album, and the boys do too, and it shows. They said no phones, but the iHeart people I was standing near had theirs. And I get to see them yet again on Saturday! Woo hoo... 4 times in 9 days... Can't get enough :)
11. I suppose technically this isn't a picture of Chris but a video, but it's the cutest interview with him on KIIS FM. http://www.kiisfm.com/onair/jojo-wright-27736/chris-martin-talks-adventure-of-a-14137671/?utm_content=bufferae262&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
12. TIDALXCOLDPLAY Presented by KROQ (POSTPONED) I set the alarm on my phone so I don't get distracted. But with 98.7, they gave away at random times so I listened non stop. I lived my life in the 30-45 minutes after every cue so I wouldn't miss one. The things I do for this band... And overall I like 98.7s playlist well enough but if I have to hear SOB or Exes and Ohs one more time, I will lose my mind.
13. Sigh. I called every single time for the 3 days they were giving away tickets. I listened to 98.7 nonstop from 7-7, and got through many times, but never the correct caller. And half of the people didn't even sound that excited. If I didn't live so far away, I'd take a chance on going to see if someone is a no show or has an extra plus 1. The dj's said it is the old Jay Leno studio at NBC studios. I didn't know that.
14. I've never been to the iHeart studio- been to the stations a few times to pick up tickets and always wondered how it was. I keep getting through, but they are so fast, I never hear what number I am, except for the time I was 90. That's nice you're close to CBS - we left our house at 6:30am from South Orange County and it took us 2 hours to get there. There's a reason we live down here! LOL I'm excited about the show Saturday!
15. I heard KROQ was telling their winners last week, no lining up before 5:30, but there were plenty of people who were there early. I won from Tidal, and we got there at 12:30. I think the line was fine, we didn't block the sidewalk, people were respectful of personal space. We were 2nd row in front of Jonny. I was planning on getting there even earlier on Saturday, but it also seems like it will be a much smaller crowd, with so many people not being able to make it again. I may go super early and just sit in my car, and see what happens, but my daughter has to work Sat morning so she and my husband won't be able to get there before 2. The VIP thing was annoying, but it did seem like most of them were "friends and family" and were in the balcony. And on another note, I'm still trying to win from 98.7 for the album release party - I was caller 90 out of 98 last hour. Grr. LOL
16. The iHeart show is Thursday night. Only way in is to win tickets...
17. We spoke with Phil for a minute after the show Friday night. What s nice guy.
18. Haha. Yes that was my daughter. I've been brainwashing her for years to like my music. As for seeing bands before they really make it big, I'm like that with Mumford and Sons and Imagine Dragons. I'd heard of M&S, and their style intrigued me, so I bought tickets before I'd really heard their music. With them, it's kind of come full circle - the first show I saw was at the Palladium, then bigger and bigger venues, like Hollywood Bowl, and then a couple of months ago, saw them at a private KROQ show at the Troubadour. ID is a similar story, heard of them and heard one song, and saw them at House of Blues Anaheim, and watched them grow and explode over the last couple of years. CP was already "established" before I really started paying attention to them. I'd always been more into classic rock, Springsteen, Bon Jovi, etc, but CP started growing on me and I bought tix on eBay to see them the first time in 2005. After that I was hooked and couldn't get enough. Still can't. I heard most of MX before it was officially released because they did so much pre=promotion with the European festivals and US promos. I was at the GS tapings, too. I like getting a sneak peek. As for AHFOD, like I said in the other thread, I'm so bad at remembering songs the first few times I hear them. And in the tv studio, the sound is always off a bit. They played the song twice and I had no idea what it was the first time, other than feeling the beat. It almost has a Charlie Brown type feel, where there are parts where everyone is just bouncing up and down in time with the music. I tried the second time to pay attention to the lyrics but it was so hard. It's definitely got an upbeat happy sound, but not disco-y like AOAL. Will works the drums a lot, Chris did not play piano, but that could have been due to the backing track so he could dance around while singing instead of sitting. James Corden pretended to play the piano. LOL I did like the song, and want to hear it again. I'm hoping, too, that I get tickets to the iHeart show, but the stations haven't been giving away tickets like they usually do.
19. 2001? Wow, that's a long time? I love "discovering" bands in the beginning, and following them as they grow up, so to speak. I still can't get over last night. I'm glad you were able to get tickets, too. And running into Chris? How lucky is that? I'm really looking forward to the rescheduled show on Saturday.
20. TIDALXCOLDPLAY Presented by KROQ (POSTPONED) I'm an emotional wuss these days and during Imagine and Sparks, I admit to wiping away a few years. If Will had sung lead on Til Kingdom Come like he used to, I would have been curled up in a ball in the floor. Lol I keep running though last night in my mind and I watched the periscope video. There was a little girl in the front row, way over on the left side, she was maybe 9-10? Chris was worried about her being in front of the speaker, so he asked her if she wanted to sit inside the barrier in the center. Jackie helped her over. Love his thoughtfulness. Gwyneth and the kids were in the friends and family section balcony and he kept looking up at them. We had the chance to meet Phil in the lobby. What a sweet man. We said we'd always wanted to say hi but never had the chance. He shook my hand and said hi I'm Phil so I told him I'm Dianne. But my mind was thinking duh, I know who you are. I told him he's the only one I don't have a photo with but I know he's the most important one, so he laughed and said "I like you." Haha The way Chris put his hand on Wills shoulder when Will was sitting at the piano... They were so comfortable up there and while the crowd was quieter than usual, it wasn't because they weren't huge fans, it was because of the mood of the show. Truly a special evening. And I'm so looking forward to next week for the rescheduled show. I know there were a lot of people who traveled long distances, and I'm sad they probably won't be able to make it back - the couple who drove 10 hours from Utah, my friend Kelly (although she is scheming...) Ian (AtlasColdplay on Twitter) and his friend, and many others.
21. It's being rescheduled for next Saturday night, and ticket holders will be contacted with the details.
22. Here's the video of Sparks I recorded. . Part of me wanted to record the whole show, but the part of me that won, was the part that said "just enjoy the show and know that you are seeing something magical and to be present without holding up the phone the whole time." But I think my husband recorded Imagine. I'll check his video and possibly upload too.
23. TIDALXCOLDPLAY Presented by KROQ (POSTPONED) I have very few words. Such a difficult emotional day. There was a lot of confusion in line when doors didn't open at 6 as planned. But once word spread through the crowd, everyone agreed it was the right thing for CP to do. Imagine was stunning. Sparks blew me away - I recorded the whole thing. Good thing you couldn't hear my tears. I'll try to upload to yt. While the mood was very somber, Chris made a few jokes. Poor Will - he didn't play drums at all, he played piano and guitar. I don't know how much was streamed - I skimmed through and it seemed like it was? On the way out, we saw Phil and got a photo - what a nice guy. They are rescheduling the show for next Saturday night. I feel bad for the people who won't be able to come again, but I will be there. As horrific as the day's events were, Coldplay did something truly special and magical tonight and it was perfect.
24. They played AHFOD yesterday and I really liked it. Bouncy happy song. We will be there in about 30 min.
