I'm doing off- the- clock design work for Pottery Barn, hotwiring a hotel for my family in Toronto, trying to get my damn cat to come back inside all while drinking wine and checking the secret show status. Nothing like multi-tasking.

Isn't it funny but not surprising how many industry people....even guys.... post instagram/twitter/FB photos w/ him mentioning how much they love Chris. Do other rock stars get such un-adulterated adoration. I think not. :)

Maybe I'm a ruse.... ...sounds more like it's 'Maybe I'm on the ropes...' The other lines that are bugging me are....... '...emptied by'em anybody knows..." Something about those ^^seems off, only because the meaning is kinda unclear???....which of course doesn't mean they're wrong. AND ...."Spectre on a ?????.....ahhhhhhh!!!! no clue!!! C'mon people who are good at this shit, figure it out for me!!!

And I second the gratitude.....I was so excited I only remembered snippets! Christa, you'll get a kick out of this....right before our show in LA I was chatting with some kids standing next to me about how we like various albums etc and I threw out this gem " Well, I'll always love my favorite band but, you know sometimes when a songwriter gets all happily married with kids and stuff they forget how to write the more meaningful stuff about heartache and sorrow you know?....and then its all anthems and sing-a-longs. But that's OK I will always love them and remain a hardcore fan no matter what." 5 minutes later, Cue Ghost Stories....LOL....and I was like Holy Shit! Chris is an even better songwriter than I give him credit for...putting himself in such "another place" to write these raw, painful songs.... 12 hours late, Cue the Uncoupling Notice..... not so LOL Amusingly, I was sitting directly next to Bash when I said this- completely in earshot....if he DID hear me he must have been thinking " that fan is in for an earful of surprises"....(I moved seats right after that, so thankfully didn't have to fight the urge to jabber at him anyway.) In my fangirl stupor the standout was "O/Flock of Birds" and thinking how incredibly sad the lyrics were...and now I'm wondering; Knowing about where the lyrics are coming from now... how does it color how you feel about the songs and the show in general?? Unless they magically add some shows to this mini-tour I'll never know... I appreciate your awesome review and so glad you and Ang were there.

And as far as lyrical content goes the lyrics to Fly On seem to me to be clearly about the miscarriage Gwyneth has spoken of. As soon as I watched the Zane Lowe interview it really confirmed my feelings. Whether it is or not, it's such a sweetly sad and yet ultimately beautiful, hopeful song. I am impressed with Chris' wisdom and outlook no matter what the inspiration for these lyrics is.

Thank You timyyy.....I've been fighting with itunes all day yesterday so it was a crappy time to attempt to watch the trailer...I was having a frustration induced heart attack!

I can't even watch the damn thing...It keeps crashing at 28 seconds .But I see my pale mug next to Dianne!!.... ....and that random guy was totally stoked but I had to school him on how to make sure we made it into the vid... He had his arms folded and I let him know he better show some enthusiasm or we'd never be immortalized in a Coldplay TV special... it worked and it definitely helped him have more fun loosening up. I can't wait for CPers going to the LA and NY shows to be blown away!!!!

I can't remember, I was the closest I have ever been or ever will be to my favorite band of all times and I was having a "moment"!!! LOL- If LFDianne is is following this thread maybe she can chime in.....Dianne- you are better than me at this...??? -Edit- OK except for my as my siggy shows, the times I've met the band, lol....that's just weird and kinda uncomfortable and not the same as the electricity of seeing them sing and play in front of you, you know!?!

I was at the secret show in LA and I was so beside myself I could barely remember every song once it concluded!!- But I did remember there were a couple that stood out as very "Parachutey" which is a wonderful thing IMHO. Oceans was one and I don't think it is a rehashing of an old style, but a return to a more melodic stripped down, vocal driven song. I was ready for more Coldplay songs without the mid song crescendo and anthemic arena sing along chorus and Oceans fits the bill beautifully- the only other one that stands out from that night was O ...and I could be wrong cuz I was sitting smack dab in front of Chris and the rainbow laser so I am not a reliable witness!!!

Hi Marc, I've been a member since 'back in the day' and though I don't post as much as I once did I was crushed to contemplate the demise of CPing.com. I consider a couple of the mods great friends, I've had he pleasure of meeting Jen & Ian and even baby Sam, and have always been so grateful for their awesome hard work and dedication to this site, the band, and all the CPing community. I'm looking forward to many more years of shared excitement and endless blathering on the topic we all love- the best band in the world. Thanks Marc for ensuring all this craziness continues. ~Kelly

I"ll echo Dianne here.....it's ringing in my head constantly since we saw it performed live. It's fantastic, ethereal, at the same time sweet and lilting and a potential mixed club hit all at the same time....PLUS gorgeous visually if they perform it with Chris 'playing' the laser. Lurve.
