school schedule
this is actually my second time taking arabic in my life, but the last time was two years ago so i forgot a lot and had to start all over. i think it's a completely awesome language (and especially fun and beautiful to write!), but it is rather hard, especially because i can't base it off much of anything i know, like i could with spanish or french. aaaaand my teacher isn't very good, so most of my class is still struggling with reading and he's moved on to some more complex grammar things  the thing that really gets me, though, are the vast differences in national dialects! the first time i took arabic, i had a lebanese teacher (or a teacher who learned arabic in lebanon), so i learned all the lebanese pronunciations and colloquialisms, but now, my two teachers are from algeria and bahrain, so i get rather confused sometimes, not to mention reprimanded for pronouncing things "wrong"! :P

Apparently it's the end of the world tommorow. Did you know?
well, do you have any better ideas?! :P  there's heaps and heaps of science to back up the theory. people wouldn't believe in it if it didn't make sense to the smartest minds around, and it does. and it's not just like "POOF! ok, perfect universe is formed;" it just set the formation of everything into motion. the universe wouldn't be as we know it to be now for billions of years! do we know the actual date when they'll test it? i should work on my list for then too :P Q: are all sorts of religious groups freaking out that the judgement day is upon us? i haven't heard anything, and i would imagine this is kind of their gig. unless the end of the world can't be man made...

i've decided that i really hate having arabic every stupid day at 8:30 AM :bigcry: i have arabic coming out my ears.

Apparently it's the end of the world tommorow. Did you know?
it's definitely not fake; it's just a matter of whether or not we're all going to be toast. i sincerely don't think we are. maybe that's me just being completely unable to fathom nothingness, but i really don't believe i'm NOT going to wake up tomorrow (or in a month or so, whenever it is now). i actually laugh when i think about it.

So that Large Hadron Collider (aka Big Bang Machine) at Cern
my friend actually IMed me yesterday really concerned about this. i found that hilarious. he's been acting quite atypical lately anyway, but this was just hysterical. maybe i should be more worried than i am, but i'm also a huge space nerd, so i find this whole thing incredibly exciting. and even if it does eat the earth...i'll be sleeping at the time, since they're running it around 3:30 AM my time, and i think that's the best way to go. AND i won't have to go to college anymore! :P

Apparently it's the end of the world tommorow. Did you know?
hahahahhahahaha, nice one  and thanks for the shout out  i'd make one of my own if i was less lazy. last year i actually made a stephen colbert-esque "on notice" and "dead to me" list on the whiteboard on my dorm door and kept it updated for a week, as did the rest of the girls on my floor. the "fuck off" list reminds me so much of that. my friend actually IMed me yesterday all freaked out about this, which is pretty atypical for him. i thought it was hilarious, though :P should i be worried? :uhoh:

I google myself
hahahaha, i just googled my coldplaying account, so some things here came up, like times ian has thanked me for whatever on the front page, etc. approximately infinite is also the name of my blog, so some posts came up there. but what cracked me up was this: http://wilksnet.com/2008/05/08/shaking-things-up/ someone on some random site took my old thing that i made for my siggy and put it on their site! that's really hysterical, actually.

Fashion etc.
i've decided i really like the way long sleeved shirts or sweaters look with shortish shorts. i guess in retrospect it was a bit too hot today to wear a sweater, but i liked it :D

Fruit Salad or Black Jack
yeah, we definitely don't have those here. they look like starbursts a bit, though. are they a chewy candy sort of thing? if they are, i can't eat them because i'm allergic and my mouth will get all puffy :bigcry: but i think i'd definitely pick fruit salad. i'm usually not too big on liccorice flavored things.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
my friend goes to college in DC, and she just told me that she and 7 of her friends SOMEHOW just secured 8 tickets together for coldplay's show on oct. 31! i'm quite excited for her because she's not the largest coldplay fan yet loves "viva la vida" (the song) to death, so i think this might open a whole door of coldplayness for her. i'm working on burning her a CD right now of the songs that they've been tending to play so she can learn all the words before she goes. but really. how come me, the ticketmaster master, would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS be able to secure more than 3 tickets at one time anywhere for a concert, yet a complete novice signs on and snaps up 8?

Wow... I don't want to grow up.
i've always been older than my age. i really can't wait to be like, 23 so i can finally be on my own, and so my friends are slightly more mature then. ok, maybe they won't be THAT much more mature, but i think the whole binge-drinking thing becomes less accpetable by then and blah blah blah. i'm just really sick of being 18 and in college and all that stuff. i feel like i'm really ready to enter the real world, or enter the real world again, because when i was in the real world, i enjoyed it WAY more than being in college. anyway, jenika, this time does suck, especially with college apps, but i promise you'll start to realize you're much more ready for it then you think. it can be wearing, but it won't break you, i promise :D

Help (english speakers needed)
^sorry mich  i do too, though. this was a bit harder, though, just because it needed to make sense too and it was kind of broken, but it was still kind of fun. you can make it even better if you want! i just did a barebones job because it was late last night :P

Help (english speakers needed)
oh crap, i just realized i left out a paragraph! this is what that one i left out would be if you asked me: 4.- The wedding should not be too long or too short, because it is meant to share the newlyweds' happiness with family and friends, yet not last all day. It has to last long enough to share the big step the newllyweds are taking and to make a great moment for everyone.

i do find it kind of funny that he's been so outspoken about obama, yet can't vote. but i certainly don't mind, because a) any support makes me feel all fuzzy inside, and b) any public figure that supports him just gets the word out more, whatever country they're from. i do wish he had done like pierce brosnan, though, and taken the citizenship test so he could vote! he sounds into it enough to make the effort. and gwyneth even did that ad in britain about expats doing their absentee ballots, and she obviously supports him. i just wanted to hug myself when i saw him in that shirt, though. and when he said on the BBC thing with steve lamaq that he's reading audacity of hope. i just wish he could vote, too :D
-
Fashion etc.
i WISH they were $20! i would have bought them by now. but $200...does that sound reasonableish? i would go to payless or target or some cheaper place, but i want something that i know is durable because i'll probably wear these every day and in the snow. i'm not a leather person, but i have to have them be real leather if i'm going to wear them out in the elements. i'm still going to look around, but i feel like i have to find something soonish. or maybe that's just me wanting it to be colder outside faster! haha, thanks about the sig, annie :P. it still needs something, but i'll work on it. i just loved that shirt! AND I FUCKING HATE PALIN. even if i do look like her, or will in 10 years...
-
Pictures, webcams, mugshots etc etc etc
haha, the quote from the sig is something from the canadian interview with the hour a few months back, where jonny tells a hilarious story about a time when he was attacked by a sheep when he was younger, and that's the line he ended the story with :P the interview's still probably in the multimedia section, and i thought it was hysterical. haha, and thanks, BTW :D
-
Fashion etc.
^grace, i LOVE your sig! did you take that butterfly photo yourself? i'm in desperate need of everyday winter boots before it starts getting really cold. i'm really picky with this sort of thing, but i found some that i really love because they're exactly what i'm looking for and very me, pretty plain and understated. i know they're ugg, but i like that they're not the typical uggs that everyone has. at least i know that they're good quality... the problem is, they're $200. i already asked annie, but can you all tell me whether you think that's a fair price for knee-high suede boots? i don't do this sort of thing much, so i need to know if that's a rip-off :P though i plan to ask my mom what the possibility of me getting them would be...because i DO need them after all :sneaky:
