^i'm not exactly sure what time it starts, either, but if you want to be able to see anything, i recommend getting there WAY before 7AM, even if it starts at 9. i'm hoping to get there by 4, because i WILL have a good viewing spot! :D shockingly enough, my brother expressed extreme interest in coming with my mom and me. so it's a family affair now :P. guess they're going to have to deal with me freaking the eff out.

ahh, in reading the fine print, i find that the US and UK contests are slightly different. the UK one is to win tickets to the free MSG concert, whereas i think you can win NYC MSG tickets in the US one, but the grand prize is to win tickets to A london concert. it looks like they'll be playing london in december or so, so i'm in the clear if i win! (:rolleyes:) ^just for clarification to people looking to enter the US contest :D

does anyone happen to have quicktime pro? i'd kill to have a high-def version on my ipod rather than a pixelly youtube rip. i hooked my ipod up to the bigscreen today, and it looked like crap (though it looks pretty ok on the small screen).

i feel like there was a lot of untapped potential for this song. it could have been a really awesome story vid, or at least something with somewhat of a plot. i feel like this was just an awkward half performance vid. it's great that they had a lot of fun with it, though, so i don't mind. i suppose you could say the same about "the hardest part," though, and that was one i was most definitely disappointed in. i just wish that they could show the dancing politicians one on TV, but i assume they can't because they don't have the rights etc to all the clips they used in it. that was more what i was talking about, though i do have to say that my favorite music videos are story videos with the band members as the main characters. or just really well pulled-off performance videos, like "speed of sound" or "shiver," or really almost all of coldplay's videos.

^that's what i think too. it sounds too cool to just be a bunch of commericals and marketing things (although giving away VH and inclluding vinyls with NME was pretty cool ;)). mostly, i just want to know when and how we're going to get those non-album tracks we know about, because supposedly we ARE getting them. i want THAT to be the huge global initiative.

where the hell did the life in technicolor video come from, then? does MSG and brixton being at 100% mean that no one else can sign up? probably not, i guess, but since it's not as easy to get to, i think the signing up will slow down significantly. i guess that's a good thing for us hopefuls. i would be much more disappointed if i'd let myself really believe that today was going to be a big CP day and let myself get all riled up, but still: :sad:

i saw them at their first US date in 2005, after they'd done some europe first, so i guess that counts as the middle. and it was FABULOUS, much better than when i saw them at the end in april 2006...they seemed bored then, almost. well, i mean, it's coldplay, so it was still fabulous, but compared to the first time i saw them, they were less excited, definitely. i think it's probably best to catch them towards the beginning of the middle, or right after they come off of a decent-length break.

oooh, i'm glad it's on comedy central! that means i'll probably catch it sometime soon! :D all my shows on the main networks have ended, so i'm not watching TV as much, but i REALLY want to catch this!

i KNEW the style of this video looked familiar! it was kind of bugging me last night, but not enough for me to get on researching. but this has mark romanek all over it (well, his more recent stuff), namely with respect to "speed of sound," which he also directed! i knew it was reminiscent of something i knew very well..."speed of sound"! but if THIS is what the global initiative is...i'm disappointed. two days ago while in the apple store (and while they were piping "the scientist" to all the customers), i thought "huh, i wonder if coldplay will put out an itunes ad, and maybe even put out their own ipod?" well...i was half right, but i kind of wish i wasn't. i was hoping for some huge announcement that would make us all die of happiness. but i didn't set myself up to be blown away, either, so i'm not sulking :P

^if i only knew how to do that...:P i just use the "simple outer glow" tool in photoshop. if i knew how to mess with it more, i would :D

yeah, it is a bit. but frankly, i love it too much to care :P i made a computer background with it for myself, but it's a bit pixelly, and i'm really not in love with the text i added at the bottom and will probably delete it, but it's working on the most part for me right now. i think no matter what we do, desktop patterns based on this will be pixelly.

aww, thanks about the avi and sig, guys! :blush: but really they're just screecaps. i wish i could make them that pretty on my own, but the credit goes to the apple artists. who are amazing. love the screenshots, eflat! i have about 20 too, but posting them all is a tad annoying, so i'll leave that to other people for now :P

agh, i can't stop watching either! it's just so beautiful! if the hypothetical music video for VLV was just this the whole time (obviously longer), that would be FINE by me! :P of course that's not happening though.
