japan always seems to be first, for some reason. and then UK/EU countries, then america/canada etc the day after. but they're really messing the traditional way of doing things up this time! once again, i wonder why the HELL the music industry bothers to do it this way--it just encourages leaking and illegal sharing to other countries. i guess i'm naive, but it just seems to me that one worldwide would make the most financial sense. anyway, i think i'll be pretty easy to find online on the 12th for everyone that doesn't get it then...but i really think that everyone that will end up getting it illegally (because you know that there will be hundreds of people doing that) should either buy the official release once it's out in your respective country and/or donate to oxfam/CCC or something to make up for it :D [/plug]

while i tend to lean on the side of believing that we'll get a single AND news on wednesday...i'm pretty pessimistic. i guess they're going to try to make it as much of a surprise as possible, but...i just don't know. i DO know that my ass will be at home and my browser will have a tab here and a tab on the official site as soon as i wake up on wednesday, though. if there really is going to be something announced and/or released, i REFUSE to miss it :D

i'm also hoping that there are people on ebay and even on this board that entered to win tickets, but can't go unless they win the grand prize of the enitre trip. i'm sure as hell willing to pay for these tickets...maybe not $300 or anything like that, but if it's the only way of me getting there, then hell yeah. i'd even be willing to start/look after a thread in the live section for people looking to trade tickets etc etc. that is, if there isn't one already...:thinking:

i think the contest closes june 1, and we'll know on/by june 5 whether or not we won. urggh, i'm nervous already...it's like waiting to see if i got into college all over again...

YOU KNOW YOU'RE ADDICTED TO COLDPLAY WHEN... you, your mom, and your brother plan on waking up at 2AM, taking a train at 3AM to get to the city by 4AM to see coldplay play 1-3 songs on the today show, even though you're going to see another PROPER concert in a different state that same night AND you're leaving the country for two months the next day :laugh1:

i've definitely had several coldplay dreams, but not all that many that i actually remember fully. i wake up lots of times with the feeling that chris or one of the guys was a character in the dream, but that's about it. once, though, back in like october or so, i had a dream that there was a coldplay concert somewhere (i can't remember if i was actually at the concert or whether i was watching it on TV, but i think i was there), and it was very stripped down--just the four guys on a bare, simple stage in normal clothes like they used to wear for parachutes and AROBTTH. they were playing songs from LP4, which was called advent, because that was written in white in the albertus font on will's bass drum and on a huge banner over the stage. i remember really liking what i was hearing, but that's about it. another big coldplay dream i had around that time was that chris martin came to play a solo acoustic set at my old school's weekly chapel service (really, besides the fact that he's CHRIS MARTIN, this isn't all that far-fetched...we had really laid back, non-denominational and non-christian chapel services in my school where the reverend would play a popular song over the speakers or on ahis guitar and we'd talk about the message behind it), and i was basically wetting myself in one of the front pews. we always had lunch right after the chapel period, and when i was at lunch, one of my friends came up to me and told me he arranged for chris to HAVE LUNCH WITH ME in the back overflow room, and i just about fainted. i got my food and had lunch with chris martin, asking him questions and all that, questions that i plan to actually ask in the unlikely event that i ever get to meet him. the funny thing was, chris looked and sounded EXACTLY like chris does (sometimes that doesn't happen in dreams), and besides the fact that chris martin was at my SCHOOL, the entire dream was pretty plausible and realistic.

me neither. it's my ONLY chance to see them this summer in a proper concert. and i live so close, and i'm going to be in the city that day anyway...AGH. i have 6 or 7 chances to win in there (well, three of those are friends of mine that entered who i'm almost positive would invite me if they won and i didn't, because really...who WOULDN'T think of me if they had an extra ticket to a coldplay concert?!) but i just know i'm not going to get any of them. that's just how my life usually works. i guess i'm just going to have to figure out how to get to NJ in october...:\

sadly, this happens to me ALL THE TIME. more than i have dreams about coldplay themselves. the coldplaying interface turns up basically every time i have a dream involving a computer. it's just so ingrained in my head! :P

wow yeah, i didn't read the terms and conditions. worse comes to worse, you just use your parents. even if you win under the name "jenika" or "justin," as long as you have a parent or someone over 18 going with you i really think that you'll be able to get around this. i wouldn't worry too much, at least not now. though i must say, thank god i'm over 18.

well, i can't say when i first heard "yellow," but that was it. after 9/11, i remember seeing it quite a lot when channel-surfing. my mom got AROBTTH shortly after it came out, so i heard everything on there in the car on heavy rotation, but really the only song i remember was "clocks." i remember hearing "in my place" quite a lot too, enough that it was so ingrained in my head that the riff would subconsciously play everytime i was really happy, but it never registered as a coldplay song in my head until june 2005! (neither did "yellow," by the way). (i like these old bumped threads, indya!!)

i don't think it would matter in the slightest, either. when i started liking them, i didn't know what any of them looked like besides chris, and i didn't really find him especially attractive, either. though i did like the way he moved...ANYWAY :P between may and late july 2005, i really didn't know what any of the other three looked like too well, because in the X&Y music videos put out in that time, you didn't get more than a second's glance of jonny, will or guy. when i learned that i would be going to a coldplay concert, that's when i got out the pictures and figured out which one was which exactly. and then...i fell completely in love with every aspect of coldplay after seeing them live for the first time, and the rest is history :D however, i DID used to think that guy, will, and jonny were almost identical, minus guy's hair color. i thought that jonny and will were brothers! :laugh4:

ooh, thanks for posting! jonny actually talked quite a lot! usually he stays pretty quiet, but i would say that he said just about as much as chris did in this one. back to NY in october, did they say?! i know they'll be in new jersey then, but i REALLY hope they add another NYC date in there then! that's so much easier for me to get to!!

yesterday, we were in my friend's kitchen, making pancakes for dinner and acting crazy. she put on a playlist of all these old (and TERRIBLE) songs from middle school, like backstreet boys and spice girls and all that stuff. for some reason, when i was going through the playlist "the scientist" was on there and i asked her about it, and she said "oh, it was on one of those old NOW CDs" so i made the :sneaky: look and waited for it to come up on shuffle. but my friend decided to skip over a lot of the songs, and when she got to the scientist, she let litterally not even a millisecond of the first note play before skipping to the next song, and i looked up eagerly and said "YESSS!!" and she looked at me like i was crazy and said "you could tell it was that song buy that note that wasn't even a tenth of a second long?!" ooh boy, i AM obsessed. she didn't put the song on though, because it was too depressing for the mood, which i agree with, but i would NEVER pass over coldplay!

i completely agree, tracie :D but i also think that when everyone says those things on the board, it's just kind of like a badly-phrased wish or dream. rather than saying "man, i wish coldplay would play X arena in X town...," people say "coldplay BETTER play X arena in X town or there will be hell to pay." i think people are just trying to make their desire for them to play near them or whatever even stronger-sounding and won't actually break out the pitchforks and torches if they don't play there. i think it's all just hope :)

according to a couple sources, it's just will and chris on "fix you," just multi-tracked, but they all sing it together live. i really do think it's all of them on VLV. chris did say that this album had more group vocals, and we know they're all on VH, and this sounds somewhat similar to me...

ahh, i get random muscle twitches all the time. they're not really that painful or anything, but i just don't like the feeling that i can't control what my body is doing. when my knee starts jumping or whatever...i hate that i can't stop it. but one time about a year and a half ago, i was just sitting in history class and my arm fell asleep. it wasn't even like normal falling asleep, it was like i no longer had a right arm...i couldn't feel it whatsoever except for that it was really heavy pulling on my shoulder. the problem was that it didn't wake up all day. i got really freaked out and went to about four different doctors in a week because i STILL couldn't feel anything in it and no one had any idea why. after about the 5th doctor, they told me i pinched a nerve in my neck from...spending too much time on the computer :dozey:. so i was in physical therapy all christmas holiday, and it took a month to regain feeling in the thing. not cool.
