wow, thanks!!! while i can't say its a favorite video of theirs for me, it's certainly not bad! i think i just thought the song had a lot of potential for a really cool story video, and it went a bit untapped, but that's ok. reminds me very much of a beatles sort of video, circa the "help!" era. it's got the "ticket to ride" scene all over it. once again, i think chris got quite a bit MORE attractive in the 3-year hiatus :dead: and i actually gasped out loud at the end when chris nearly hits his head. i've always been paranoid about people hitting their heads, and chris came damn close! :laugh4:

i think there's a picture of one that sounds like what you're talking about in the releases section. thanks for telling us that they're so widespread! :D what interests me is that these official posters just say "viva la vida." you would think that an official poster would have the full title...:sneaky: i really have to stop believing in the conspiracy theory :rolleyes:

anastasia. well, ok, my dad refused to let me have such a russian name, so it's ann on my birth certificate. but it's supposed to be after my grandma (and all the other 11 anastasia's in my family...) so i like to say it's anastasia because that's what it's supposed to be ;). it was supposed to be my first name, actually, and i wish it was.

just because he doesn't have it on his hand doesn't mean they don't support MTF anymore. i think they're going to support MTF and oxfam until they die. and i'm betting chris is going to come up with a new way to show his support anyway. it seems like every new era of coldplay brings with it a new chris-hand-drawing :P before i really got obsessed with coldplay, i thought it WAS a tattoo and actually laughed out loud when i learned it was sharpie. chris really has got to stop drawing on himself with sharpie--he's going to get ink poisoning! then he's just going to have this odd blue blob on his hand that he won't be able to get off.

as i've said before, my mom likes to play music in the car very loudly. tonight we met up somewhere, and i decided to drive with her, so we left my car in a parking lot. later on, she had to drop me off to pick up my car again. i got out of the passenger seat, and literally a second after i closed the door, the car started thumping with music. i could feel the bassline in my chest, and i turned back and knocked on the window, which she scrolled down. i had to scream over the song: "YOU WAIT TO BLAST 'VIVA LA VIDA' UNTIL I'M OUT OF THE CAR?!" and she cracked up and gave me the :sneaky: look. but really, why weren't we listening when i was in the car?! :P

i completely agree. frankly, i was expecting much more of a departure from their earlier stuff, but i'm fine with the slightly tweaked style that they've got going on so far. yeah, violet hill is a bit heavier than past songs with distorted guitars etc, and viva la vida uses a wider instrument base without the classic guitar-bass-drums-piano that we're used to, but i think that both songs are classic, vintage coldplay, with that distinctive coldplay sound, just presented in a new way. life in technicolor is the same to me: very distinctive coldplay, yet completely fresh, and the version of lost? we have is extremely coldplay to me. now ASARY is...different, but i find it hard to judge their entire "new style" on a b-side. the main difference i find with the new songs are the lyrics. they're not as personal and heartfelt as they were before, at least on violet hill and viva la vida, and they've taken a whole new direction. but i think so far, they're pulling it off beautifully. this is why i'm dying for the full album even more than i was before: i want to see if this is completely redone coldplay (i don't think it will be, given what we've heard so far), or whether it's just coldplay evolved a bit (which i love and am perfectly thrilled with, personally).

somehow, i entirely missed the tighty-whities episode. is there any way i can see it? i don't think it's on youtube...

ooooh, i'll watch coldplay perform live anytime, anywhere! :D i have to say that the MTV movie awards bother me because theyre not "real" awards, but if coldplay will be performing, i'll be watching. i just hope they do it early on so i don't have to watch the entire thing.

i wish they would do this too! i wish there was an official coldplay fan club which you had to pay an annual fee to be in, and in return we'd get first choice of tickets. it works beautifully for other groups. i feel like us diehards get a bit snubbed, and we absolutely stress over the fact that we might not get to see them at all, whereas those who know only "clocks" and "fix you" get the front-row seats.

i did a project on the beatles in 10th grade. this was at the point when i was more obsessed with them than i am now with coldplay, so i had 15 minutes to give a brief history of them, and i just kept going on and on until it was over 60 minutes and i didn't notice. i was mortified, but my teacher said i was doing so well that he didn't want to stop me :P never did one on coldplay, but that looks cool! good luck with that :nice:

i think the guys think they're being nice to us by giving us toronto videos because they didn't give us the DVD, but really we've all seen toronto, and most of us even have it on our hard drives. i know it would have taken a lot of effort to make a LIT-esque video for most of the new songs, but i do have to say that i think we all would have loved it more. i guess i'm just under the impression that VLVOD is supposed to be about leaving the other three albums and starting fresh (and from the NME interview, it sounds like they're especially trying to leave X&Y behind), and yet we're still getting those videos. ah, well. i guess now i just don't want people to sign up for the concerts anymore, since i've seen pretty much everything under there :P

i was thinking this had to do with them changing the title from "viva la vida or death and all his friends" to just "viva la vida." i must say, i'm glad that this is not what this is! i want there to be some AMAZING explanation behind the name change...namley the double-album conspiracy theory :sneaky:

42 and cemetaries off the album, but from all the tracks we've heard of, i'd say famous old painters, rainy day, and especially postcards from far away :dance:

i have to say that i'm grateful for the clip, but really, he should of told us from the get-go that it was just going to be a BIT of it rather than the whole thing. then we'd all be thanking him rather than calling for blood.

yeahhh, but not as much, maybe. i don't know, it just looks different. seeing chris's perhaps new teeth made me rethink my own gap between my front teeth, and in looking in a mirror, i realize it's been gone for years! :P

i think chris might have gotten something done with his teeth, too. they look different; i swear that gap isn't there anymore, or at least not as much. still: :dead:

^yeah, same for me if i get to go to MSG. i'll either have my mom or friends with me, so that might limit my ability to coordinate people etc. my mom would understand, so if that's how it ends up then i could probably definitely do it, but if i end up going with a friend...not so much. i think they'd be weirded out by more than a few minutes of "hey, how are you's" so we'll see how it all ends up on june 5!
