ooh, really?! that would be GREAT, thank you! :dance: literally yesterday i was in the apple store in my mall thinking, "man, what if the global initiative is apple ads?" i dont want THAT to be the global initiative, because frankly that'll be a HUGE let-down, but i still think that them doing the commerical is pretty cool, especially because i thought of it yesterday :P i know they hate doing commercials etc etc, but i think if they're going to do commercials, apple is a good company to do it for. and they already did one in 2005 anyway.

i'm not saying i'm so sure i'm right, but it's...interesting, to say the least :cheesy: i do know that i'm going to be disappointed if wednesday passes without a peep from the coldplay camp. and i hope whatever it is will be as epic as it sounds.

CLUES WE HAVE THAT VLVODAAHF MIGHT BE A DOUBLE-ALBUM (or something in that vein) 1) news article stating that coldplay "are currently recording material which didn’t make it onto their forthcoming album, ‘Viva La Vida’ - which is out on June 12th. The songs are expected to be released by the band’s record label EMI alongside the new album." (http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44444&highlight=global+initiative) 2) same article which states some huge global initiative being announced on may 21. 3) "flotsam and jetsam" board on the wall of the bakery, listing song titles that didn't make it on the album, which jonny declined to talk about (NME article). 4) iTunes removing the DAAHF part of the title from the official listing. 5) Amazon removing DAAHF part of the title from the official listing. 6) official ad posters in international cities only calling it VLV rather than VLVODAAHF.

good point. i don't think they're really conventionally attractive, besides maybe guy. they're kind of geeky...an aquired taste, i guess :P. it took me kind of a while to consider them attractive, so i do kind of see where non-coldplay fans are coming from when they say the guys aren't attractive, but i dare anyone to watch at least 3 coldplay videos in a row and NOT fall for chris, even just a little bit :P my friend once said something like "chris martin is decently hot, but the others...whoo boy, give them a packet of razors and some pot, for god's sake!" :lol:

i'm really getting very, VERY convinced that DAAHF is something different than VLV. not a full 100% convinced yet, but something around 90%. this is just too fishy for it NOT to mean something, methinks. of course, i could be totally wrong come wednesday, but i really think we're all onto something! :D

BTW, they can't be playing the theater, since the capacity for the theater is 5,600 and there are 7,000 tickets being given away. at least that's a spark of good news. but i REALLY want to know what the bleep they're doing with the remaining 12,522 seats. that's a HELL of a lot of seats :shifty:.

ahh, you didn't start the riot, don't worry! :D i was just...under the impression that they'd be giving ALL the tickets away, not just 7,000/19,522 of them. that's LESS THAN HALF :bigcry: i know it's not exactly fair to complain about this, since they ARE giving away 7,000 tickets completely free, but i feel a bit mislead. i guess that's just the death of my optimisim i feel. because why would they pay to play the garden and not fill it? or why would they fill more than half of it with people that COULD pay for it anyway? 19,522 divided by 2 does NOT equal 3,500, people.

IT BETTER BE THE FULL MSG. NO EFFING THEATER AT MSG. GOD NOOOOO! i think it'll definitely be the full MSG, though. they've played there several times before and never had a problem filling the place. i think it would be specified if it was just the theater (which is damn small...i've seen concerts there too). where did you read it would only be 7000 tickets? the full MSG can seat about 30,000, which means 15,000 pairs of tickets up for grabs if they're playing the full MSG, which i bet they are, and if every single seat in the place is up for the lottery, which i hope to god it is. they better not be saving more than half the allotted tickets for celebs and companies etc. that would really piss me off, because i'm under the impression that this is supposed to be all about giving back to the everday fans, not the rich fans that could buy their way into the garden any old time anyway. EDIT: it's in the freaking terms and conditions. i feel like crying. what the HELL are they doing with all those other tickets?! i'm SO not getting in. :bigcry: EDIT AGAIN: coldplay isn't even mentioned on the MSG official calendar/schedule in any of their venues. when i search for coldplay in the search bar, it asks me "Did you mean wordplay?" it's kind of fishy... CRAP MUFFINS. my optimisim about going to this (what little there was) is completely out the window.

18, from connecticut, USA. there seem to be several people from connecticut on here, more than i thought! :dance: i'm pretty short, about 5'4" on a good day. politically liberal, very into novels, movies, and music. i go to college in PA, but i'm probably going to end up transferring next winter so i can get a better education in my field, which is film, specifically screenwriting. this summer i'm living and working in the netherlands as an au pair, with a side trip to england, and i plan to study in england for the 2009-2010 school year. i'm kind of obsessed with england :D and no, i don't binge-drink or the like. i'm painfully clean-cut :P my mom and VH1 are what got be into coldplay in may 2005 :dance:

i woke up too late to see any of the 6-11 showings :sad: i was counting on them playing it at 11 too, but i wanted to throw something at the TV when "flavor of love" came on, uggh.

...am i the only one in the world that LOVES the X&Y album cover? seriously, it's my favorite of the four so far. i love them all, but hard-pressed, i would pick X&Y.

i'd be extremely happy for the single to be VLV with (2) b-sides! that's now what i'm hoping for, because i'm beginning to really agree with the idea that if anything else is going to be leaked, it should be the ENTIRE album. ^that really makes sense to me. anyway, i'm more concerned with the global initiative thing rather than the single. that's what is really interesting, because i think it's somehow connected to all these songs that didn't make the album that we've heard about and seen several places. i don't even care if we don't get them on wednesday...i'd just like to know exactly what they intend to do with them and when and how we'll get them :D

i HOPE there will be a VLV video...not counting on it though :sad:. but really, that has the potential to be an AMAZING video... anyway, i don't count that as an official single, especially because it's not marketed as one on itunes. i wouldn't be at all surprised if they released another single before june 11, and i have to say that i hope they do...just preferably this wednesday like they (or their manager or whoever) said they would :D

it's probably already been mentioned about 6 times, but i couldn't really see anything, so i thought i'd say that a friend told me that from 6AM to 11AM on VH1 (in the USA, at least), they're going to be playing "violet hill" every hour (maybe on the hour?). i know we've already all seen it and that there's actually a BETTER one out there on their website, but there are some geeks out there like me who, if we remember, will flick on VH1 just to see it get public airtime :D anyway, sorry if that's been said like 6 times already :rolleyes:

i do kind of wonder why they'd say something about may 21 specifically in that news article and then have absolutely nothing occur on that day, but hey, the press does lie sometimes. there used to be a thing on itunes where you could see all the upcoming things that were going to be released in the next month on there, but i can't find it. i did, however, find a thing called "just added" on there where you can see what's been released each week. i'm going to check it tomorrow, just in case there's something coldplay-related up there, but a) who knows if they'd do the single through itunes anyway? b) if they're really trying to keep it secret, they wouldn't put it on that list, and c) it might not tell you what's going to released BEFORE it happens, but only AFTER, so my looking could be entirely useless :P
