  1. haha, yeahhh, i'm not a huge collaboration person, unless it's paul mccartney or bono. or if coldplay ever want to join up with the strokes...:P and chris seems to mention his love for kylie quite often. um, he has GWYNETH!! i think she's about 12X prettier :laugh1:
  2. thanks, justin!! ahhhhh, this sounds SO FREAKING GREAT. i think after reading this i'm too excited to really be coherent and meaningful about what i think (it's also 2AM...), but i just think i might explode from excitement. and "yes" with chris's lowest singing yet?! eeeee! and semy, never stop rambling! it makes me feel better when i go on and on and onnnnn...i mean, did you SEE my post about all the coldplay music videos yesterday?! :D besides, your rambling always makes sense, so have at it!
  3. hmm...i wonder just how much participation the audience will have...i hope it's not cheesy. for me, just singing along is enough. and the prospect (no pun intended :P) of gymnastics makes me cringe a bit. i want this to be a coldplay concert, not cirque de soleil. but if it's chris doing the gymnastics, then....well :wink3:. other than that, though, everything sounds great!! thanks for posting :D
  4. PS-- i also do agree about obama appearing right when the 'carnival of idiots' line comes on, but i think the video is just making a statement about politicians in general. believe me, i am the biggest barack obama lover in the WORLD, but i'm not surprised or really concerned that he appeared in this. it's just a commentary on politicians, in my opinion, and even though barack is a particularly GREAT politician...how can you not use that footage of him dancing in such a video? :D really, i think coldplay (or at least chris) probably wholeheartedly supports obama. i mean, they vocally supported john kerry in 2004, and john kerry wholeheartedly supports obama, so i think that it's more likely that coldplay/chris supports obama than hillary (especially because she's turning into even MORE of a psychobitch IMO and is becoming a conservative).
  5. who called it?! :D :P i absolutely love this video. i've always said that i like music videos best when the band is in them, but if they're making a political statement with it instead, fine by me. this is exactly the sort of thing i wanted to see from them, and i couldn't be happier that they're making their views blunt and obvious. i agree with them wholeheartedly. and i just think this is brilliantly edited too, in time with the music and everything...wonderful, just wonderful. it makes me want to hug them all over again, when they put out things like this. i understand why it's not the "official" video, especially perhaps because they don't have the rights to all the clips that they used, but really, i do wish it WAS the official one. ohh, coldplay, how HAPPY you make meeeee
  6. :stunned: the similarity kind of really creeps me out.
  7. if it's any consolation, i didn't get a brixton email...i think their server might be a bit wonky right now for some reason, because i know other people that have signed up in the past two days haven't gotten anything either. i think i'm going to have to reapply. but really, this whole thing should have gone a lot smoother. i mean, i guess i've been really lucky in this, given what everyone else is experiencing, but really, it shouldn't be this hard! especially with something so important!
  8. ok, i found the source :D http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44444&highlight=global+initiative read the first article posted by ian, and the one a bit farther down posted by stefan-c8
  9. i'm hoping to be able to go to east rutherford, NJ on october 26th to see them, because i go to college in PA, and boston is a bit too far from there :(. but i'm going to be living in europe all summer, so if the NJ tickets go onsale before mid-august, i'm screwed for that too... PLEASE, god, say i'm going to MSG... i guess at the very least i'll have the today show. i saw them at the meadows too, and that was just TOO hot. i was on the flat part close to the stage as well, but i did have a seat. and then the time after that i went all the way up to mohegan sun, but i had pretty crappy seats. i don't even mind if i have bad seats at MSG, i just want to BE THERE!
  10. new single and apparently, we get to hear about this promotional intiative with global reach. i think there's a chance it could be epically cool (a few of my brain cells are holding out for something like a double album), or it might not be, but at any rate, we're pretty sure there's a new single that day too :D i'm too lazy to find the source, though.
  11. ^ :bigcry: i know i've said it before today about 138374932 times, but I CAN'T BELIEVE I CAN'T GO TO THAT. anyway, i've got a good one: you know you're addicted to coldplay when your best friend says on the phone "let's spend the day together on wednesda, may 21 and visit our old school and go to the movies and get dinner," and all you can say is "ehhhhh, i have an appointment :uhoh:," but really you only said that because you KNOW something really awesome (hopefully) is going to be unveiled in the coldplay world on may 21, and you CAN'T miss it :P don't worry, i rescheduled the friend thing, but really, i'd be a mess all day, wondering what the coldplay news was.
  12. for some reason, i think chris looks like moses in this screencap :nice:
  13. i didn't do the presale this morning because i won't be in the country on july 3. i can't tell you how much it pains me to be missing this :bigcry: this is why i'm so hoping to see them at MSG--it's really my only chance to see them this summer, outside of the today show. i just noticed that they're doing the XL center (this is the new name for the civic center, yeah?) rather than the meadows (or the dodge center) like they did the last time. i can't believe i'm not going :bigcry:
  14. the scientist-- i love story videos that the musicians are in, i love creative cinematographic effects, and i love this song. i just think the whole backwards story thing is too awesome for words. shiver-- i love this video because it's so simple and it suits the song. they're so young, and it's about having a huge crush like you do at that age. and i just love how you can tell it's their first video. not a single one of them looks at the camera the entire time; they only look at the floor or their instruments, or at each other when they're feeling brave. but then like 3/4 of the way through it, chris seems to get more comfortable and confident, and he looks directly at the camera and...ohhh. i melt. then he can't keep his eyes off of it :P i also like that he's not wearing shoes in the video :laugh4: speed of sound-- this was the video that made me love coldplay, so it'll always be special to me. but really, i think it's a pretty awesome way to do a performance video. the colors are awesome, and the way chris moves is even more awesome. they seemed so excited in that video. trouble (UK)-- i find this video half hysterical, half genius. i cracked up the first time i saw it, with guy being manhandled and abused by will and jonny, but i don't know, i just like thinking about the story behind the video, like why these two random guys are tied up on a sketchy city street in the freezing rain. i like that you have to think about it and create a bit of your own explanation for it. in my place-- i can't really explain why i like this one so much, but i do. i think their performance really suits the song, with chris pleading and jumping around. i like that they do it in this empty, sterile-seeming warehouse place. and i really love how at the very, very end, right before it goes to black, chris smiles back at the other three :nice: clocks--performance video again, but i like how the crowd is eerily stoic and reserved. and will throwing the water makes it for me. very cool shot. and just SUCH a killer song. fix you-- i love the first half. i think the setting and the mood really suit the song. i love all the yellowy, orangey streetlights and chris's lonely walking. before the video even came out, this is exactly what i had in mind. the live concert bit is also cool, i guess, but just kind of boring. besides, i find it too odd that chris just randomly runs into a massive concert already in progress. yellow-- i love the simplicity of it. yeah, it's a bit monotonous, but i like the melancholy feeling to the whole thing. walking alone on the beach in the rain at dawn...but singing such an amazing, devotional song... talk-- this just cracks me up. i love how much fun they're having with it. i like the crappy space-vibe to it. and i find it really cool how chris shines his flashlight on the moon and you can see it. i don't know why, but i find that really cool. violet hill-- i think this could have been a bit better, really. lots of untapped potential for this song, i think. but i like the new look and everything, and the end makes me laugh. and chris looks, well, gorgy :P don't panic-- animation style creeps me out a bit, but i think it's pretty cool, it's just not for me. i remember seeing this long before i got into coldplay and thinking it was by one of those crunchy, indie bands from vermont or montana or something :laugh1: trouble (US)-- it's pretty, but i don't know, to me it just doesn't suit coldplay. i get kind of bored with it. god put a smile upon your face-- as much as i love the performance part of the video, and as much as i love paddy consadine, i just find the whole concept a bit too far-out for me. i'm more of a fan of realism, really. the hardest part-- there are no words for how WEIRD this is. i wish they just kept the performance half and didn't bother with the creepy dancers. spandex, glitter, thongs, and old people should never appear in a coldplay video again. yeahhh, as you can tell, i like music videos
  15. ermmm...i thought everybody here had the toronto 2006 concert on their hard drives  i got it from the multimedia section here a loooong time ago! the only reason i really care about getting the DVD is for the chance of getting a tour diary, which is my favorite part of the live 2003 DVD :D ok, i've got another: -when you seriously consider planning your ENTIRE summer around coldplay's tour dates (too bad i couldn't do this :bigcry:)
  16. :dead: :dead: :dead: i honestly believe somehow chris got more attractive in the three-year hiatus. really. and i hope he stays clean-shaven!
  17. me too, angie ;) i dont care if no one else unlocks anything--it means that we probably get tickets! besides, it looks like it's mostly X&Y videos anyway, seemingly all from toronto.
  18. yaaaay! and thanks for making the video "see you soon"! :nice: by far my favorite!
  19. -when they show up in your dreams all the time -when you mistakenly type "COLDPLAY" instead of "cold war," "cold cuts," "could play" "co-pay," or even just "could." -when you can't sleep for excitement the night before a big coldplay release -when your time spent on coldplaying.com affects your academic career -when you wake up HOURS earlier than you would normally just to hear the radio premeire of a coldplay song -when you have to tone down your love for them to your friends because you know that if they knew just how much you were obsessed with them, they'd think you were clinically insane -when it physically pains you not to be able to attend the coldplay concert in your state (:bigcry:) oh, i could go on and on...
  20. you might have already said, ian, but do you know what the lowest it has ever been was? i wonder if we're getting close to that!!
  21. did thanks go away? damn, just on the day i need to thank people!! i find the end bit weird too. i think chris was probably just goofing off and they were fiming him, and then they just decided to use it at the end. i think they defintiely could have made that part better...
  22. THANK YOU!!! ipod ahoy!!
  23. yes, could you post it here pretty please? :D or did you already put it somewhere else? multimedia, perhaps?
  24. thanks, pat!! :D the quality is great! and yeah, if there's any way to get it in .mp4, that would be FABULOUS!!
  25. ooh, i'll wait for this! thanks! yay! i'll love you forever if it's in .mp4!!
