i'm drooooooling at the thought of the release date. i think there's a chance it's in may still, given how far they are with the website! they really just probbaly need to pick a layout and make it functional...which i would think would take like what, 2-3 weeks? if there was a drooling smiley, i would use it. instead, this is my staple "excited" smiley: :dance:

i REALLY don't think we're getting news today, or soon, actually. i think now that they know we know, they'll be working harder on making the site functional. unless they actually decide to throw that whole plan out the window and just tell us in a new star post on the "old" website. it would be brillo to get a note from them acknowledging the whole deal, but i think the site will be launched around april 1 or so. i dont know WHERE the hell all this clear-headed patience and rationality is coming from, though! back to my old self: need. LP4. NOWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

*pssh* i already exploded! (sorry, ian...if i knew what cleaner to use on virtual carpets, i'd clean it up right now) ok, new thought: if you look at the text of the news posts on the sample screenshot things, most of the text reads "lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..." this is very common filler-text for things all over the world, and you'll find it in lots of places. it...ah, well, read about it here; i once had to learn about it for middle school. ANYWAY, because a lot of the text is filler, i think the dates must be as well. obviously the dates that have already past are filler, but i think the tour dates at the top are filler as well. i know that's not some huge awesome revelation, but i don't really think we should be taking the literal content of these pages seriously until its live--i'm more excited about progress and art and a potential album title!

tee hee! i love that image of them crowded around the computer, either wondering why the hell it took us so long or how the hell this muck-up happened. ^like someone said before, it's probably just a photoshop mock-up of what the site will look like. i don't think we can rely on the dates yet, the ones past or the ones in the future. they might have just plugged things in to get a general idea of how it looks. this is so exciting to me mostly because a) it gives an idea of the album art b) i like the hiddenness and the secret about it c) it sparks a whole new host of predictions about the timetable of LP4 d) it gives us a decent idea of the album title, though that could just be assumption on our part e) it's NEWS (or quasi-news...information that we can infer stuff from) from an almost definitely official source. and i think now that they know we've found it, they might just get on their game harder to make the site live ASAP. i know my patience is even MORE thinn now (though in a good, non-frustrated way). i just like progress!

no one's updated the wikicoldplay! i don't really know how (i'm assuming ANYONE can do this, not just ian) and my brain still isnt working 100% properly, but its just a note if anyone's in the mood to do some serious writing!

haha, everyone's too busy in the BIG SCOOP thread to notice this one...luckily i have MULTIPLE BROWSER TABS! wahaha! anyway, i'm putting april 1 on a whim. i think that it HAS to be up before april 11 if "song for the escapist" truly is going to be in the movie the escapist. so i'm thinking around april 1 because they need some time to actually makie it functional, methinks, but i HOPE that it's sooner than april 1!

ooh, mini-brainwave: do you think chris's handwriting saying "coldplay" (or cddpley, as one would read it w/o knowing better) will be the new logo to take over from the alberta font theyve always used? i've been thinking that they'd change the logo for the new album (end of a trilogy, etc etc), and this one seems pretty prominent in all of the designs...but while it's cool and arty, its kinda illegible to people that don't know it says coldplay! :laugh4: i think this is DEFFI real. i mean, the link is off the OFFICIAL SITE! its just a matter of how much it will change by the time its functional. namely, the dates!

i'd noticed the viva la vida one, but not the others!!!!! i knew viva la vida had SOMETHING to do with the new album!! the fact that it appeared TWICE in that hilarious imovie vid that they posted a few months ago had to mean there was SOME significance!

YAY!!! a debs coldplay book! OMG, that will make my LIFE (after the album itself, of course!) ok, i wrote on the official facebook coldplay group which debs created, but there's no guarantee she'll write back soon. i just asked for a timeline of when the new site will be up, but i'm not really expecting her to answer that. mostly i posted so everyone else in the group thats not on CPing could share in the good news!

i'll go facebook debs, but she sometimes doesn't reply too frequently... *going*

me neither. but i think they'll notice in the next few hours or so that we've discovered this and might go into overdrive preparing the site. not that that really means we'll get it much sooner, but perhaps they'll know now that since we have SOME info they've got to put all effort into not making delays. i can't wait until the day (SOON) when i click on my coldplay.com favorite and one of THOSE sites pops up, fully functional!!!!

^but the 8ths already past....i'm confused about that sort of thing. all the dates have past. if they meant to tell us those things then, why didn't they?? haha, there's something called "CP social" in look1...(yes, i downloaded winRAR, but thanks a MILLION for posting the JPEGs anyway!)...sounds like the new official forum! i think this will always be THE coldplay forum, though.

this is probably the fastest growing thread since X&Y was released three years ago!!
