that's true! i didnt even make the hitchhiker's connection! brilliant! i kinda hope that one makes it now. and i also think "rainy day" is the title with the most promise. it sounds like it has the potential to be one of those songs i fall in love with.

as much as im trying not to be, im slightly disappointed. especially by the track names. they DO sound cheesy! "yes!" sounds like some teen poppy song title, there are 2 songs with references to flowers, and the "leftright" one...oh man. i hope the titles underneath those huge cross-outs are more promising. lets just hope the songs themselves are good. im maintaining that "sleeping sun" was the last song officially released (im pretty sure...), and i REALLY love that song, so i hope that they continue on down that sort of road. im also kinda sad its going to be short. i mean, im excited for anything, but 9 SONGS? i think ill be wanting more very quickly, and will still have to wait 3-4 years for the next album. and we need ballads! its coldplay! (i think he was just making an example, though. lets hope). more than anything, still, i want a release date.

oh good! i totally forgot to watch it (i wasnt looking forward to having to watch basically the entire thing just to wait for chris), and now im glad i didnt miss anything. yay!

i remember being surprised when i first joined the forum how many people were guys. not that theres anything wrong with that in the slightest; i just figured being such a rabid fan of an all-male band is more of a girl thing. most of the guys i know play down how much they like such things, no matter how much they actually are obsessed with them. but even though i think the girl-to-guy percentage is somewhere around 70/30 (maybe 60/40?), i really like having a large number of guys to talk to on here. ive always gotten on better with guys in general, incidentally, but i like the varied opinions. i know I PERSONALLY often get so wrapped up in their looks and everything that it makes me sound like a gushy bimbo that doesnt care about the music as much, but really its the other way round. its nice to have some people that arent so mushy by nature :D

wow, i think about the same thing about "for you"! execept that when i hear is, while i think its about the same thing, i picture chris sitting alone in a room, playing the piano and singing the song while it rains hard outside. one time i was listening to the song and could of sworn i heard a sound like rain against a window in the background, so thats why it makes me think of that.

my mom was angry at me yesterday because i didnt order a new Pearl Jam DVD for her straight away (Pearl Jam is her absolute favorite band, like i am with coldplay. This new DVD is kinda like Live 2003). i wanted to wait to get her permission to order it, but she was pissed and said i should have done it right away because there was no doubt that she would have wanted it. "if one of the guys from coldplay farted in an envelope we'd be racing out to get it," she said. "why is this any different?" i just about passed out from laughing :laugh4:

my mom was just whistling "clocks" in the kitchen. of course, it could have been the song from that STUPID chrysler commercial that uses a rip-off of "clocks" and makes me angry. it follows me around.

i was 12 then. crazy. my mom listened to it all the time in the car, but i didnt give a damn about music then, and all i remember is clocks, mainly because that song was everywhere. i feel terrible that i didnt get into them until 2.5 years ago. the best album EVER, in my opinion.

yaay! new stars! they dropped balloons in august '05, too, though. i saw them at their first US show here in CT, and they did the balloons then. i have a piece of the confetti from inside ;)

ooh, if this is true...! ill even sit through the VMAs to see if chris actually turns up. (music videos fascinate me, but only when i actually like the music paired with the video, and i can hardly think of a single video this year that goes along with music i like). hopefully, in addition, the clip will turn up somewhere on coldplaying and/or youtube so we dont have to suffer through all the rap videos...:dozey:

i love all the storytellers photos, pallavi! i need to see that! if i lived in a pretty place, id post a pic, but really its not that interesting. perhaps i could post a pic of my house sometime. i dont know, but i like the idea of everyone sharing pics of where they live, even though this isnt the right thread for it :) in the meantime, ive always loved this pic of chris, though perhaps more for the photo as a whole than of how chris looks in it. i'll bet its been posted before though:

^annie: listened carefully to the TGI fridays commercial, and youre right! the guitar is very "ode to deodorant"-esque. pretty funny. :cool: we just got a new fridge that has a digital display saying how cold the freezer and fridge are respectively. a few days ago, the freezer was -1 degrees (F) and the fridge was 37 degrees F, so i sneakily changed the fridge temp to 36 degrees F so now every time i look at it, the display reads 1 36. :smug:

i agree about jonny. i think he'd look better if he lost the mustache, lost some weight, and cut his hair. he cant really do all that much about the balding, but i really dont think he should pull a will (or a chris circa AROBTTH) and just shave it off-- i think he'd look terrible. he should get hair plugs or something and keep his hair at the length it was around 2002/2003: in my opinion anyway :rolleyes:

to me, i think the strangeness of those pictures has something to do with her skin color vs. her hair color and lots of darker-colored roots showing. i think she'd look tons better if she just had her hair the natural color, even though she is like the most beautiful person ever. in those pics she looks like marcia brady from the brady bunch, i swear. i like the first one, though, where's she's feeding that rat or whatever it is with a sippy cup.

hahaha, i love that note from jonny. nervous because snoop dogg was watching :laugh4: i love how they make fun of each other in the notes. somebody may hit me for being stupid, but i dont think i know what jonnys middle name is; he signed the note JMB. maybe i just forgot it, but can someone refresh my memory?

oh, thank you for the article and photos!! i think gwyneth looks a bit like an alien in some of them and not like her usual beautiful self at all, but very interesting to see. i have a house in the hamptons as well, though we didnt go this summer...god, imagine running into gwyneth, chris, apple and moses!!! chris wants to ADOPT?? *squee* i think thats so cute!

i think it's mainly about a lost love who has died before he could do anything about it. perhaps its written for gwyneths father, but i think its more hypothetical.
