awwwww, i love that!! so cute. that was nice of them, being british and all. i thought most brits barely even knew when thanksgiving was! :D

ive always thought it sounded like he says something like "i saw them walking..." though the mafia thing would fit the context of the song better. also, at the very end of this song, there are a few extra piano notes after chris sings the word "hide." now that theres a thread about this, i forget all the little studio noises i usually notice! theyre just so integrated into the songs in my head that i forget theyre there lots of times. also, in "sleeping sun" at 00:08, right before the maracas come in, i think chris says "go" to will (if he's the one playing the maracas) to signal him in.

at the end of "help is round the corner" there's noise of traffic at the very end of the song, like wooshing cars and one honking. it took me AGES to realize this was there!

only recently have i become a larger-than-average radiohead fan, and i must say that while ok computer has some AMAZING songs, i just am not a big fan of the way they all fit together, and some of the songs arent my favorites. the bends and in rainbows are better, i think. to me, the best album ever made was AROBTTH. while im hopeful for an album i can really love rather than just like (X&Y), i just dont think theyll ever top AROBTTH, or even parachutes. if they do...well, i can just lay down and die then. i must say im kind of worried about how much ill like the 4th album. but we'll just have to wait and see, i guess. i must learn how to be patient.

i would say theyre all amazingly talented, but if i had to pick one, i think id say will. he can play drums, guitar, piano, sing, and more with amazing ability and plays a huge part in the song writing (but they all do so that doesnt count). and, i read somewhere that will was the one that convinced chris to allow "warning sign" to be put on AROBTTH (chris hates that song apparently). thats all the proof i need! :)

arg, thats next to impossible. but considering most of my absolute favorites arent on the albums...i guess id have to say the scientist. but warning sign was almost it.

i really love snow patrol, but no one will ever take coldplays space in my heart. i like snow patrol for different reasons anyway: i feel like i often know exactly what chris is talking about in their songs paired with incredible music, wheras with snow patrol i think theyre talented lyricists though i dont really relate to what they sing about. i also really like the epic and cinematic feel to lots of their songs. but i dont think theyll ever become as big or as well-loved as coldplay. coldplay are respected musicians with two well-received albums under their belts and theyre (well, chris anyway) celebrities in the music world. i think snow patrol is a few levels below them on the critical scale and the star scale. i would think they would have exploded by now if they were to become like coldplay with sold-out stadiums and paparazzi and insanely amazing online fan boards like this one :P

i really really hope so!! ive been hoping that ever since it was released. thanks for posting! though i think that no matter when this interview was released, it was given a couple months ago. theyve been in the studio longer than 2 months, to my knowledge, anyway, and the most recent albert hammond jr album was released last spring.

i'm not sure how to do it that way, but i DO know that it's possible to download it from the multimedia section of this site! that's what i did ages ago. i dont know how to post songs myself or i would do it for you, and all the links i could find were currently dead, but if you go to this thread (one of many possible ones) and request it i bet you'll get it eventually. also try this thread; you may get a reply faster. welcome to the board :D

yes, ive been thinking the same thing. i kind of dont expect there to be one, though, considering there hasnt been much public CP action this year. who knows.

does anyone know how to create one of those moveable .GIF images from a videoclip? will starts mouthing "viva la vida" starting at 0:00:19.33 and ends around 0:00:19.93, if that helps anyone. i wish i knew how to, because i want to be sure thats what he says! this is all quite fascinating to me, as my now THREE posts show :D. if only will's finger numbers spelled out the release date...:sneaky:

oh, god, youre RIGHT. to me, things are slanting towards "viva la vida" being our best guess for album title. though who really knows?? fooey. i even like "prospekt" and "a new finding" better than that. :confused: ok, disregard everything i said in my above post about them not trying to send us cryptic messages. i think we have TWO pieces of evidence now that this means something, and i personally am now convinced that this is a very strong possiblility for album title. even though im a bit...not thrilled with it.

while watching "shiver" last night (favorite video along with "the scientist"), i noticed that chris is not wearing shoes in the video. his black parachutes-era hiking boot things are next to him on the floor, and he's just wearing socks. i find that funny. i love little things like that. hows that for a RANDOM coldplay thought?? :laugh3:

will DEFINITELY says "fuck off" at one point...i'm hearing impaired and read lips a lot, and if i may say so myself im fairly good at it. most of the other things he says are gibberish to me; just a lot of mouth moving to make it look like he's saying something. of course i could be wrong, but i actually spent a bit of time trying to work it out and got no where :rolleyes:. i dont think theyre trying to mess with us by imbedding messages or hints on the next album; i think theyre just being their usual *adorably* crazy selves during down moments in the studio. i do, however, see the "viva la vida" thing. it looks like he's saying that quite a bit. though i think it's either a) coincidence or b)something that just popped into his head to say. however it would...make sense as an album title given the "hispanic influences" etc etc, but i REALLY REALLY hope it isnt. its just...cheesy!! it makes me cringe already. besides, they said the hispanic influences werent like, overpowering, they were underlying. so maybe they wont slap a spanish title on there as well? besides, they have always named the album after a song on the album, so i think its semi-likely theyll stick with that tradition. i dont know, but i just really dont want that to be the title. but about chris spelling it out with his hands....i thought he was spelling out C-O-L-D-P-L-A-Y!! (i even went frame by frame with the video on my computer to find all the letters! god im a geek). though chris, um, kind of doesnt put the letters "C", "O" or "P" in there at all, so im probably wrong. but i thought that was pretty cool and maybe they just didnt put the pics of chris making those three letters in the final video that they posted. (besides, its really hard to make the letter "I" with your hands...so i dont think that its "viva la vida". and i just dont WANT it to be that!) but i think spelling out the word "COLDPLAY" with your hands is a really cool thing to do, even if that isnt what chris was doing. if you open the video in windows moviemaker, you can go frame by frame. thats how i looked at all the letters with chriss hands and tried to glean meaning from wills gibberish. its the best way i know how to make it slower. i also found that in the first few seconds that are reallyreally fast, chris and will are goofing off with eachother and cracking up. i think its cute. ok, and this is a really really long post but: did anybody else notice, now or before, that guy has an earring? personally i didnt know. and its funny to me that in a 2005 interview they said they felt too it was too late now to get piercings and tattoos because theyd look ridiculous getting them in their 30's. but will AND chris now have tattoos and apparently guy got his hear pierced! interesting...

do you know if theyre showing it on normal PBS this time, or just the HD PBS channel? thats where i was caught last time and couldnt watch it! but thats the day i move into college, so ill miss it either way :(

yes, it would have been SUPER nice if they paired it with a music clip...not necessarily a song from the new album or anything, but just a random bit of something they might not release... oh god, this is how desperate i am for new stuff, im actually COMPLAINING about a coldplay video... i love that they dont age, but chris especially is freakishly caught in a 2003 time-warp.

yes yes, but its just that coldplay have become a big part of my life and have meant a lot to me in the past 3 years, so that if i dont end up liking the direction theyre going in, itll make me quite sad personally.

im a pretty crappy and inexperienced piano player, but i can pick out anything uncomplicated if you give me the music. i have a "best of coldplay for easy piano" book and all the music for X&Y. but i did figure out the "speed of sound" riff all on my own, which i was quite proud of. by heart i know: the riffs to clocks, speed of sound, trouble, amsterdam, the scientist, in my place...parts of warning sign, dont panic, politik...a few more. id LOVE to be able to play guitar, though, and play something that really sounded like something the guys put on record.

youre welcome everyone! :kiss: i would never deny this board any chris love. i just thought it was nice that a) we're hearing from him and b) he sounds the same as always, jokey and hilarious, even though theres lots of stress and work, etc. i wished there was a more recent photo though: even though thats one of my favorites, its from 2005!

i would KILL to go, but alas, it just wont happen. ill just wait till they come to america, which hopefully will be fall/winter 08. but im semi disappointed by the rumor that itll take them THAT LONG to unveil the new album. i was really really hoping for march/april 08 or sooner. i might die of anticipation by july. and that just seems like an overly long time, anyway. i must say i hope that rumor is false.
