COLDPLAYING WEMBLEY T-SHIRTS! ... BUTTERFLY DESIGN (SEMY) BACK ON SALE!
AGH, A SIGG WATER BOTTLE?! :bigcry: I have a problem with Sigg water bottles...I own three already. Maybe we can leave that one in the store for a bit of time after the concert? :shy: I can probably afford it later.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I second the request for the pic kinda showing the G tattoo...I've always been suspicious of its existence :P.

Chelsea's "I'm Moving to England and Need Your Help" Thread
They would be if they worked on more US networks :dozey:. The iPhone runs on a GSM type network, I believe, and my carrier (Verizon) doesn't support GSM phones, so even if I were to unlock one for my network, it wouldn't work. I don't know if they work on Sprint/T Mobile etc, though.

Oy, I'm still exhausted a day later, but I'll try to write out my highlights now :P. I'm from Connecticut, so we had to drive about 12 hours to get to Toronto (we were going to be there anyway to pick up my brother from camp). I missed Kitty, Daisy & Lewis because I had to be at my brother's hockey game, but arrived right as Elbow came on. Our seats were...not brilliant :P. I'm afraid I'm now spoiled after being so close the past few times. I was in section 134a, which is right on the left side of the stage, but the issue was that the stage didn't span the entire width of the playing field like it does in smaller arenas, and I didn't bargain for that. However, I perked right up when I was informed by the security guards that the boys would be passing RIGHT in front of our section, and I was in the second row! :D I didn't take many pictures, but I got a few fairly good ones from the HD screen right in front of me, as well as a crap-lit video of the boys walking right past me, which I'll post later. The show was awesome, and I was so grateful to go when I totally didn't expect to be able to, so I would have taken even crappier seats just for the experience :nice:. However, I just don't feel nearly as connected when I'm not in the front anymore...the people in my section only knew the singles. I also loved singing happy birthday to Will :D. Anyone else get one of the awesome Toronto posters? I had to get one :nice:.

Haha, maybe it's a Canadian vs. American thing? I've rarely seen people at the venue millitant about it, since I've blatantly photographed and videoed countless shows, but at the doors they always seem to be screaming "NO CAMERAS, VIDEO, OR AUDIO RECORDERS." EDIT: I was thinking about making a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WILL" sign, but I'm not going to be in a place where they can read it anyway :P.

Ooh, they're allowed? :cheesy: I've never been to a venue yet where they've let them in.

I should probably stop sounding like a know-it-all, but my foolproof trick for cameras: stick them in that inner zipper pocket that most purses have, and jam a couple tampons/pads around it :P. If you get an overzealous security guard, they probably won't want to go in there too much . Ok, I'm going to stop talking now :P. Perhaps Canada and the Rogers Center are totally different than every other place I've been before.

I would say between 200 and 300 in the whole small pit, but A) I am a terrible judge of how big a space is and how many people there are in a large group B) I realize that perhaps my estimate of 50-75 people deep might not be consistent with my estimate of 200-300 in the whole pit :P. Like I say, I can't eye things and estimate very well. I would guess, based on pictures I've seen of the Rogers Center and the floorplan, like 500-600 in the pit there? After trying to give you all a better idea of what to expect, watch me be horribly and drastically wrong :P.

Gwyneth...
Aww, she looks amazing :nice:. I could never pull off that dress, but I actually kinda like it.

I'm sorry to worry you . I'm just a bit cutthroat about being at the very front, since I'm a very short person and any more than three rows back I can't see a damn thing. The most recent time I was in GA was in Hartford CT in a MUCH smaller venue than this, and I would say the GA section was about 50-75 people deep in total, so in a bigger venue like this one, I would imagine the GA section being HUGE, upwards of 100 people deep (however, this is all speculation ). Do whatever you're comfortable with, of course, but I would just warn that any more than 7 people deep from the front and you're going to see more of the backs of heads than the boys themselves :\. However, the vibe of the GA section is always more fun, regardless of the view, so you're in for a good time :D. I'm just one to prioritize my view of the guys over everything else :P. How old is your niece? Just...uh, watch her :P. With a band like Coldplay, it's not going to get that crazy or anything, but I've been squashed and elbowed quite a lot :P.

Gwyneth...
I think Chris would be a great comedy actor, despite what he says :P. I actually would KILL to know what lead role he turned down that one time.

I think they'll finish around 11:15ish. Most places only have permits to have concerts running until a certain time, since there's so much noise. Also, if they play past an allotted time, the band is then responsible for paying all employees overtime (like the security guards and ushers and merch/food sellers in the venue). I doubt they'd play more than one song extra for us, and even that's stretching it. They're usually always still open afterwards :D.

They usually stay at Four Seasons these days, and there's one in Toronto, so if they're not going back to NYC (which I bet they will be doing), I would bet on the Four Seasons .

The Official SAT Thread: How do you study for SAT?
Exactly :D. These days, the SATs tend to be one of the least significant things colleges look at when submitted along with grades and extracurriculars and all that. I think people are finally realizing that it has less to do with what you know and more to do with endurance and patience. Four hours is just too long, for such a dumb test :P.

The Official SAT Thread: How do you study for SAT?
I prepared for the SAT by eating a stack of buttered toast . As people have said before, some don't require it at all, and every year fewer and fewer colleges and universties require the test or even look at your scores. As useless of a test as it is (in my opinion), it's a better idea just to take it, because the odds are that some of the places you're going to be applying will want to see it. I think in 10-20 years, though, the SAT will be all but obsolete and very few universities will require it.

Gwyneth...
Thanks Mich :nice:. I never would have been able to find which interview it was in all my folders. And, this is what I was talking about on Extras...it's at the very end, but the whole thing is hilarious: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJmtJGPd7Qk]YouTube - Extras...Chris Martin.(perfect quality)[/ame] And before anybody gets a wedgie or anything, he is ACTING. :P

OMGZ TOMORROW! :cheesy: Unfortunately, I have to drive 13 hours to get there . If they're staying in Toronto, I bet they'll be at the Four Seasons. However, I have a large hunch they'll be shooting back down to NYC rather than staying in Toronto: the next day is a day off (and Will's birthday!), and NYC is their US base. Then I think they'll go up to Montreal on the 1st, but I could be wrong. As a previous GA-er, I would say don't even look twice at food/merchandise/bathrooms on your way SPRINTING to the front of the GA section (if you care about being at the front, of course). I would also just adise that the back of GA isn't really that awesome, in my opinion...I was once only 5 rows back from the stage and...you can't see a ton, especially if you're of average or short height, since the ground is completely flat. Since this is a huge venue, I would imagine that the back of the GA section would be worse than being in the upper 500 levels, but that's just my personal preference . Thanks for posting this! I can't get to the venue until about 8ish, I don't think (long story :dozey:), so good to know I'll probably able to see Elbow as well! :D

COLDPLAYING WEMBLEY T-SHIRTS! ... BUTTERFLY DESIGN (SEMY) BACK ON SALE!
I'm debating wearing mine to the Toronto show tomorrow night, but I kind of want its maiden voyage to be Wembley :P.

Gwyneth...
I think the main reason that they're not on TMZ and the like so much is because most people hate Gwyneth for some unknown reason and she doesn't do THAT many projects anymore. And I think Chris is usually so busy, squared away inside a studio or a concert arena, that he doesn't have that much time to be papped in the 50 seconds he's outside every day :P. Really, besides the Gwyneth quotes that people take the wrong way and besides all the divorce rumors, they're not that interesting besides the fact that they're so secretive. I really do think that if they did the red carpet thing ONCE and made nice to the camera at ONE event, they wouldn't be bothered so much, at least for a while. I'm not saying become Brangelina or whatever, but just relax a bit. [/rant] :P

Gwyneth...
I only recently found out myself  Seriously, though, as much as I respect the fact they want privacy, I think barely admitting you're married and baldly refusing to be seen together, even walking out of a restaurant or dropping kids off at school is just overkill. It's so millitant..I think if they (Chris) chilled out a bit about keeping the other half secret, the rest of the world wouldn't be trying to invade them so much.
-
Gwyneth...
I've heard him say her name twice, I think: once on Extras when he says "Gwyneth's making drumsticks," and then in some other interview where he's talking about a piano in their house that once belonged to Gwyneth's dad and he said something like "it belonged to my wife's father, my wife Gwyneth." As if we didn't know . But that was in like 2005; now he barely even admits he's married.

Are you a good driver?
I must admit that I don't really personally see the advantage in stick shift. While I'm certainly not experienced with it, I have driven manual before and learned on manual, and I just...rather not have to think about one more thing while I'm driving. I don't really find it that fun, but perhaps that's because I'm not experienced enough with it to have it be unconscious and automatic yet. Someday I think I'll figure out the advantage and enjoy it, but for now I just like automatic...it makes me feel safer.

Gwyneth...
I actually do wonder about the logistics of Moses potty training with all the travel they do...I bet Chris hates having to bring him/Apple to the bathroom every half hour like you have to with kids that age...he can't escape people bothering him so well when he's cornered in a public bathroom! Also, completely random, but I had a dream two nights ago that Chris and Gwyneth did a joint interview  EDIT: I actually think I posted that before .

Are you a good driver?
I can park pretty well just going into it (as long as I'm not going in at a weird angle--the other day at the dentist, I was almost embarrassed to leave my car as crookedly parked as it was :P), but back-in parking or parallel parking is a total no-go for me :P. I'd rather park far away and walk than parallel park or back-in park.
