What are you reading right now?
I'm reading White Teeth by Zadie Smith, for summer reading (I feel like a high schooler, having "summer reading"). I've only read about 10 pages or so, and it looks promising, but for some reason I procrastinate reading books I'm required to read, even if they're good :uhoh:. I have a month to read these as well (once I stop procrastinating, it'll be easy): -A History of London by A.N. Wilson -Ms. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf -Trolius and Cressida by Shakespeare (I'm thinking of only *pretending* to read this one. I don't get along with Shakespeare, and I don't think we're going to do much with it in the course I'm taking--we're basically only required to read it because we're going to see the play in London).

Concerts/Artists you have seen/Are planning to see
OK, I'm now adding to this list :P Coldplay (6 times so far, 7th time upcoming in September at Wembley :bomb:) Duffy x2 Pete Yorn Howling Bells Radiohead Grizzly Bear Phoenix (will see in October ) + Whoever's opening for Phoenix, I don't think it's announced yet. I'm pretty sure I'm going to miss U2 this time around, since they're never in the country I'm in at the time they're playing it . I'm also making it my life mission to see Sigur Ros whenever they tour next, even if I have to fly somewhere.

Coldplay Quotes
^I think "Beyonce" replaces "Destiny's Child" in the last one, but maybe I have it wrong and it really is Destiny's Child. This is one of my favorites: “Last year, in an attempt to impress my family I tried to cook some fish and peas, but I forgot to turn on the vent. And the thing about our fire alarm is that it's connected to the fire station. So the fire engine comes around, and I was in a panic. I said, ‘Guys, I'm sorry. There's no fire'. Then, two months later, I said, ‘Right - I'm gonna have another crack at this' - and the same thing happened. Just as I'm running outside, the fire engine pulls up and the fireman says: ‘Have you been cooking again, Chris?' So then I had to take a walk because I was a bit shaky. As it happened, the fire engine was going the same way, and they said, ‘Do you want a lift?' There are good days and not so good days, you know? But, the thing is...I got to have a ride in a fire engine. How cool is that?” I especially like the last part I bolded, just because it sounds like he's going to say something profound about the nature of life in relation to good and bad days or something...and then he just talks about how awesome riding in a fire truck is .

Coldplay Quotes
Haha, I LOVE that quote! :P I just had to go through about 9 years of old Rolling Stone magazines, and I found that interview (along with the most GORGEOUS Chris pic ever :sweatdrop:) and ripped it out :wacky: And 99% of the quotes in my Word document I got from this thread and all its backpages, so it would be a bit redundant to post :P.

Chris Martin's bracelets ?
I was at Starbucks last night, paying for my coffee, when the cashier girl reached out and started touching the MWLIB bracelets on my arm (I've started to wear all 20 at one time, which is a bit overkill, but one of my sets is too small to ever take off, and I wanted to get more blue ones in the mix and wear the other set). Anyway, the girl was like "WHOA. I am totally mesmerized by your bracelets". I was going to tell her about them and how to order them, but she had to help the people in line behind me :P.

Coldplay Quotes
AHH, I've missed this thread, and I've never heard this one before! It's fantastic; I just added it to my huge Word document of Coldplay quotes :P I added this one the other day, from one of Chris's recent interviews: SHOCKHOUND: Does being a pop star beat working at a supermarket? MARTIN: What do I think? The outfits are much more comfortable. The hours are more flexible. But I do miss the smell of fresh bread. SHOCKHOUND: Your studio is a former bakery. MARTIN: I see what you’re thinking. Good idea. We’ll get that set. Not the most brilliant one, but still kinda funny :P

OMG, those are TERRIBLE  I see what you meant, Prospekt :P

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
OK, I fail  Man, I wish I knew what movie it was! :P I honestly think that Chris would be fabulous if he put the energy into it...to me, he just seems the sort that would be naturally good at that sort of thing. But I think he's just too distracted by Coldplay (which is TOTALLY fine by me :P) to bother trying.

COLDPLAYING WEMBLEY T-SHIRTS! ... BUTTERFLY DESIGN (SEMY) BACK ON SALE!
Agh, I really should order mine by the end of this week. For once I'm procrastinating, mostly because I don't exactly have the funds

OH. I think I know what you're talking about. I can't find the exact picture I have in mind, since I don't think I have it saved and it's hard to find ONE shot of thousands on Google or whatever, but are these like the ones you're talking about? OK, I think I'm now spamming this thread

 Bono snowboarding :P I swear they were geek glasses, though... OK, so the ones in the first pic aren't Ray Bans...
-

Haha, I thought he rocked them :P. I don't think most people can pull off the geek glasses look, but I thought he looked great in them :wideeyed:. I just wonder if they're prescription, or just for fashion purposes, because as someone that has to wear glasses 24/7 for the rest of my life, I think fashion-glasses are a bit dumb :P.

Fashion etc.
I posted this a few weeks ago. Today I went into Target and tried both styles on (though not in my exact size...I have to order that online), and I have no idea which one to get. Before, more people were voting for the metallic ones, but after seeing them in person, they're not nearly as metallic as they look. However, I still love them. I also love the white ones, and because they're not canvas, they'd be easier to keep clean. However, the little holes in them do go all the way through, and I'm going to be living in English rain for the next year at the least. Opinions? The last thing I need is another pair of shoes, but I have a gift card, they're not that expensive for Converse, and I...just love sneakers :disappointed:.

Does Guy wear glasses too? Sometimes there's a photo of him wearing clear-lens Ray Bans, but I wonder if those are just for fashion :P

Gwyneth...
Not that this really is about Gwyneth, but we do talk about the kids in here... I'm like uber-excited about the Strawberry Swing video, and it just makes me think of Moses with the little-kid superheroness about it...I hope Chris had something to do with coming up with the idea :wacky: :nice: [/completely random]

"Strawberry Swing" video - RELEASED! (20th July 2009)
OMG! I can't say I necessarily think the theme of the video fits this particular song (from what I can see so far, it looks like it would fit "Lost!" more), but whatever, it looks SO AWESOME I can't complain. If Chris had anything to do with helping form this idea, I bet he got the superhero idea from Moses! :wacky: :P

Coldplay Dreams
i seem to have a lot of coldplay dreams where they're playing in really small venues to mostly my friends and family, but i had ANOTHER last night :P. the weird thing about this show was that right in the middle of it, the guys started grilling hot dogs and making waffle fries on stage! even in the dream i was laughing. then they passed out plates of hot dogs with cheese and mustard and fries to everyone in the small audience, like it was an accepted, routine part of the show. sometimes i wonder what is wrong with my brain

You have to looooove yourself, Julia, and you have a lot to love :nice:. And if you ask me, the first rule of loving yourself is saying SCREW WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS. Just because you're flatmates are saying those things doesn't mean they're true or that you should take it to heart. As long as you like the things you wear and buy for whatever reason, it doesn't mean crap what everyone else thinks :D
-
Gwyneth...
Hmm, I wonder if that's true. Not like they can't afford it, though...it's just that they rarely seem to stay that long at any of their houses except for the one in London, and they sold the one in NYC, didn't they? And they rent in LA? I'd love a house in Spain, though :wideeyed:

Eyeliner, I HATE You...
I started wearing makeup, meaning mostly coverup, when my acne started leaving scars. I think I was probably about 13 or 14. I only wear eyeliner/mascara when I'm going out to do something more than just hang out at a friend's house or whatever, or when I'm wearing contacts so I look less like a 12 year old.
-
Eyeliner, I HATE You...
Eyeliner refuses to stay on my eyes for some reason. I only use a tiny bit of it when I'm wearing contacts so I actually look my age and not 12 years old :P Random, but OMG I WANT THE COAT IN THE SECOND PHOTO :wideeyed: Just on a technical note: she is wearing makeup in these photos, just not heavy amounts eye makeup :P. I'm an advocate of natural makeup like this, with foundation and a touch of eyeliner and mascara, but I agree with all of you about ridiculously heavy amounts of eye make up: it just looks terrible nine times out of ten.

Do you have a list of people you wanna punch in the face?
I agree with you about the debt, but that's something that should have been seen to AGES ago, and not necessarily just by the Senate. My overall point is that I think it's a bit harsh and childish to automatically bash another person's list based on criteria you don't have, when yours is comprised of people you believe to be "morons" simply because they so happen to have a certain profession. I'm out before Nick or Jay shows up to talk about politics and make me look like a lemming  EDIT: and for the record, even if I happened to agree with Sarah Palin's political stance, I would still think she's a blithering idiot in the wrong profession. Which is something I feel I am able to discern based on watching her speak, NOT just the commentary on it.

Absolute Radio 'Live Stories' – Forum Competition (Entry now closed)
^that's what i'm struggling with. mine is so far a concert story, and i'm now at the part where i should be reviewing the concert and i'm stuck. i feel like everything that's been written about them live has been written...i'd rather hear the unique stories and circumstances of people getting there and enjoying it.
