  1. Let's try to think of this positively, guys. Who knows, maybe throwing in Coldplay will introduce kids to good music, slowly weaning them off of the noise produced by those genetically engineered Disney clones. 2. Oh yeah, I realize that both endings exist within the same continuity, but EoE is better as a whole. The next time I watch the series, I'm going to pause EoE right before *SPOILERS* Shinji emerges from the LCL, play the last two episodes, then resume EoE. But yeah, that was probably one of the best things, movie, anime, or television show, I've ever seen. In fact I liked the show so much,
  3. I just saw Evangelion for the first time. In its entirety, including End of Evangelion. O_O Dear Lord, it was brilliant. Those last two episodes left me confused, as they're supposed to, but watching EoE made the entire series click for me. There's some debate as to whether episodes 25/26 or EoE was the better ending, and while they're essentially the same, I think End of Evangelion is superior. That final scene is chilling.
  4. Hooray for obscure video game references! I wasn't a big fan of FFX, but to each his own. Speaking of Japanese RPGs, have you tried Persona 4? Brilliant game. Anyway, I lost that video. :( I'm terrible at explaining how to play music, but I'm going to try and describe it as best as I can. First, you want to start by tuning your D string down to B and your high E string down to Eb (or D#, whatever.) The chord for the very beginning goes like this: 0 0 8 0 9 7 And every now and then you'll want to put your pinky on the G string, creating this chord: 0 0 9 0 9 7 Now for the intro, which is also the verse. 0 0 8 0 9 7 <-- Which is the chord played during the beginning 0 2 3 4 4 2 0 0 1 0 2 0 And then it starts all over again. As for the chorus: 0 0 1 0 2 0 <-- Which is the last chord played during the verse pattern 0 0 4 4 X 4 0 2 3 4 4 2 <-- Which is the second chord played during the verse pattern. Hammer this out three times, play the last chord for one more measure, stay silent for another measure, and then start back at the verse/intro. The ending is basically the verse, but with some funky chord in the middle that I'm not familiar with. Excuse the horrible execution, but I hope that got the directions across.
  5. I think I have a video lying around somewhere on my hard drive that shows you step by step how to play it. It might also be on this forum. Let me see if I can find it. Also, is your avatar the girl from Dreamfall?
  6. Thanks, guys! :) But giving credit where credit is due, it's a modified version of a picture Lore posted in another thread.
  7. I tried to keep this one simple, despite the busy nature of the scene. I just tweaked some colors and added text. If you'd like a version that better fits your screen resolution or want the text cut out, just ask!
  8. O_O What's going on now? Could someone explain? And then maybe PM me some links?
  9. O_O Wow! Does someone have this in a higher resolution?
  10. :D I was there, it was so awesome. As soon as I heard that bassline I started screaming! XD
  11. What's with the "too popular" complaint? "Oh no! Other people like what I like! What a travesty!"
  12. Sure they're the best band on Earth, but that doesn't mean they're perfect. Can you find one thing you don't like about them? For me, I find it strange that ever since VLV came out, it's almost as if they forgot Parachutes existed. The only thing they seem to play play from that album is Yellow nowadays.
  13. Well, we can go ahead and use the cop-out response "it's whatever you want it to mean," but my favorite interpretation is that the song is about the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, the "spies" being the thought police or other government officials. The final chorus would represent the novel's conclusion, as *SPOILERS* Winston begins to realize his newfound love of his totalitarian government.
  14. Judging from Spies, it would seem that they might be into Nineteen Eighty-Four...
  15. Hm, I didn't realize Blink-182 was this popular. I don't know, for some reason, I just can't stand them. Well, sorry if I stepped on any of your toes! >.<
  16. I don't know. For me, my ideal setlist won't necessarily contain all my favorite songs, just the songs that I think would sound best at a concert. Anyways... My Dream Setlist 0. Postcards From Far Away (which serves as the intro to...) 1. Politik 2. In My Place 3. Yellow 4. What If 5. Lost! 6. Speed of Sound 7. Viva La Vida 8. The Scientist 9. Spies 10. God Put a Smile Upon Your Face (with the awesome solo at the end) 11. 42 12. Clocks Acoustic Set 13. Til Kingdom Come 14. Strawberry Swing 15. Trouble Back to the Electric Set... 16. Talk 17. A Rush of Blood to the Head 18. Everything's Not Lost 19. Lovers in Japan Encore 20. Swallowed in the Sea 21. Amsterdam 22. Fix You And then after the show, maybe 45 minutes after, they would get on a stage in the parking lot and start off with Life is For Living. Then they could play acoustic versions of whatever they'd like, whether it be Don't Panic or Green Eyes or a cover of a Pussycat Dolls song! :P Probably not the most feasible ending for a concert, but I would love to see that. Edit: OH GOD HOW COULD I FORGET SHIVER. Well, stick it in before Talk and we're fine.
  17. While it's true they're doing extremely well, I seem to come across more Coldplay haters than fans, and the haters are much more vocal. I dunno, I guess I kinda find that weird considering how big they are.
  18. Now don't get me wrong, Coldplay is my favorite band hands down, but with all the hate they get it's hard to believe they're the most popular. If you've never heard Coldplay in your life and only what the media and the rest of the public told you, you would probably assume Coldplay is a non-crappy version of...Kevin Federline. I guess my question is, how can these guys be the most popular band in the world right now despite all the resent towards them? And how do you deal with "taking all the shit for being a Coldplay fan?" Personally, I insult the haters back (usually they like stuff like System of a Down or Blink-182, and they're normally my friends anyway so it's all in good fun), but sometimes I might get into a debate. However, just like religious/political debates, they're pointless and nobody ends up changing their mind. :P
  19. I think Opeth has a better chance of collaborating with Coldplay. Also, she sounds like she's 40 years old. Which is not natural.
  20. A Message and Shiver. I don't want to go into detail. Just listen to the lyrics. EDIT: Oh, and Speed of Sound. It was the song that introduced me to Coldplay at a time where literally everything in my life was awesome. Listening to it brings back great memories.
  21. 1) Parachutes Why? - You really don't see Coldplay like this anymore. Not that that's a bad thing, but I really don't think anything can beat the bittersweet intimacy of Trouble or Yellow's soaring, discordant introduction. There is nothing to dislike about this album. Top Songs - All of them. ALL. Not-So-Top Songs - The silence between each track 2 [tie]) Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends Why? - Combining the lofty, soaring compositions of X&Y, the intimacy and raw emotion of Parachutes and the edge of Rush of blood, VLV takes everything good about Coldplay and condenses it into one album. It's a celebration of both the old and the new. Top Songs - Viva La Vida, Cemeteries of London, Lovers in Japan, Strawberry Swing Not-So-Top Songs - Yes (ew), Reign of Love 2 [TIE]) X&Y Why? - Though it was the least critically acclaimed and gave everyone a reason to hate Coldplay, this one holds a special place in my heart because it's the first Coldplay album I've listened to. I love the scenic, outer-space sound that shines forth on nearly every track. Top Songs - A Message (my favorite song), Swallowed in the Sea, Square One, What If Not-So-Top Songs - Low, White Shadows 3) A Rush of Blood to the Head Why? - While a great album, Rush just didn't seem to hook me like the other three albums. It must've been the lack of emotional love songs, like Sparks or A Message. Regardless, it's still amazing, and the explosive introduction can't be beat. Top Songs - Politik, Clocks, Amsterdam, A Rush of Blood to the Head Not-So-Top Songs - A Whisper
  22. Mister Snig replied to Novah's topic in Coldplay
High Speed: "I spayed you all" I still don't know what he says to this day. I'm sure it's something about high speed, but beyond that I have no idea.
  23. Aw man! I didn't know they were preselling tickets yesterday, so I had to settle for the seats they're selling today. I have GA tickets, but I also have some (legal) connections that could hook me up with a ticket front and center! Either way, I can't wait for this! *glee*
  24. lulz, eh? So you're one of those guys...
  25. I can imagine the headline now: Shitty band hates Coldplay, continues to be irrelevant
