  1. Yeah, it would've been great to hear the full song again but it was clearly a scripted interruption judging the mini sketch that followed with Alan Cartridge/Steve Coogan and Chris. If anything, I'm confused as to why Coldplay agreed to it. Did the guys go and finish Christmas Lights or move onto another song after this?
  2. Charlie Brown was epic! Plus I have more people talking about it on my facebook than anything else x factor so that's a bonus! They came, they rocked, they conquered!
  3. Directed by reliable Coldplay video go-to man Matt Whitecross, eh? Good to know the Charlie Brown video is in safe hands!
  4. My scanner isn't working at the moment but I'll try my best to find a way to upload some pictures soon. I'm sure there will be someone else who went to either the Glasgow or Manchester gigs that can upload high quality images from the tour programme.
  5. The tour programme is pretty cool. I picked one up at the Glasgow gig. It includes quite a few promotional photos of the band as well as live gig photos mixed in with the graffiti theme. There are also interviews with all five Coldplay members plus Dan Green and Roadie 42, full handwritten lyrics by Chris and a set of stickers featuring the symbols for each Mylo Xyloto song.
  6. Well, the guys are good mates with Gary Barlow so I imagine he was the one to convince them to appear on the show. I think he's going all out to prove he's better than Simon Cowell. What better way to do it than bring in the biggest band in the world at the moment. Plus, if they completely rock out the place with Charlie Brown (new single promotion?) I'm cool with that!
  7. I was listening to Mylo Xyloto yesterday and started wondering if any other songs from previous albums that would fit into the concept/story of this album. For instance, say, Strawberry Swing placed just after Us Against the World as a song for when the boy and girl characters are blissfully happy together before the build up to Every Teardrop is a Waterfall. Or perhaps Lovers in Japan instead? Has anyone else thought of this? Or, alternatively, is there an original Mylo Xyloto-style story/concept album you have made from Coldplay's back catalogue? p.s. first thread, so please be kind! :D
  8. Haha, I bet Chris insisted on being able to take the elephant head off to prove to the world it was him unicycling and not just a stunt double! The cap on Jonny's elephant head was a nice touch as well :laugh3:
  9. hey, someone pm'ed me the link the link before because I was at work, but I think it has been blocked. would anyone please be as kind as to resend it to me. (I have preordered the album on iTunes and intend to pick up the physical cd, this is just for a wee preview) Edit: Link eventually worked! One word: WOW!
  10. I hate to be a pest but can someone pm me it please :) I'm at work and can't get it there. p.s. I have preordered the album on itunes and will buy a physical copy too, just want a preview.
  11. A quick question about the studio version: can anybody else hear what sounds like a banjo very subtly playing throughout the "all the boys, all the girls" part? Haven't seen anyone comment about it and it has been stuck in my head all day!
  12. Thanks for the link perejro! Much appreciated!
  13. clutching at straws there i think, there is a vague similarity but nothing more than that.
  14. well, in one of the previews of vlvodaahf it said that violet hill opened with a distorted jagged guitar riff, presumably the same one as later in the song. would be interesting to hear that riff at the start of the song, perhaps as originally intended by coldplay...
  15. that's pretty awesome!
  16. does anyone else notice that will adjusts his mic during the guitar riff part of lost! while still playing the drums. def not an easy thing to do.
  17. didn't rainy day become the start of death and all of his friends or something.... anywho, the full lyric version of life in technicolor would be awesome. only thing we have on that is from rolling stone magazine: ""Life in Technicolor": ... ... "Baby it's a violent world," Martin sings."
  18. clocks..... remembered hearing it on bbc´s coverage of the golf, when the leaderboard was shown. the piano riff got me hooked and learned how to play the piano as a result!
  19. thanks! just had to make sure, last thing i wud want is for my coldplay ticket to get caught up in some scam. wud not be best pleased if i lost! out...:veryangry:
  20. Got an email from ticketmaster claiming that all the glasgow show tickets had to be recalled because they used the wrong ticket stock or something. Would hate to part with my ticket in case anything goes wrong or it isn't a legit email from ticketmaster. Any other scottish fan had this email?
  21. one less coldplay hater in the world can't be bad... btw fifth release....? bit ahead of himself there
  22. well, however heard "fox" in the live version instead of "fog"is apparently correct according to the lyrics included in the japan edition of the album
  23. good observation with the album title on itunes, def changed.........interesting
