  1. ^Well, since I'll actually have the proper recording equipment this time, I'll be able to record it after first listen. And there wont be this whole problem with Audacity not saving things as an MP3 either. So yeah, hopefully thats sorted  .
  2. And even when it wasn't good, there was an alternative (Stage6.com). And now thats gone, its pretty sad.
  3. They sort of half did it with White Shadows & Fix You, but I don't think it was all that successful. But it looks like its going to happen at least twice on this album ("Lovers In Japan / Reign of Love" & "Yes / Chinese Sleep Chant").
  4. And hopefully, it could indicate the diversity on the album we've yet to here. That, or it could represent a sound they tried to avoid on the album, therefor indicating what the album might NOT sound like. And now my head hurts.
  5. Thanks Tracie, so do I :P
  6. Yeah, "Fixed" mentioned that on the first page! Its mindblowing. Chris Obviously couldn't rename the band, so he put it into a song as a lyric. Genius! :P
  7. I can see why people think its too long, but this DOES sound like the album cut of the song. The long intro probably helps the album flow as a whole. I think they edited it quite nicely on BBC radio1 when they played it though.
  8. Not meaning to be picky or anything, but don't we already have a thread for this? The "Violet Hill =" one? At any rate, I think its sounds a bit like Fallen Angel by Elbow, except more urgent.
  9. Definitely a HUGE thank you for this, I can't stop myself from listening to it on loop. And I will try and see you in London on the 16th, if I can get the tickets. Thanks again
  10. I think you're pretty close there. An I've been hearing "that" before "unfold", too. I reckon the full sentence is something like: "and love's like poems, that unfold"
  11. Hopefully I can uploaded it sometime tonight, if not , tomorrow  Having said that, I thought I already saw a thread for it in the multimedia section.
  12. Yeah, she said it sounded like "My Bloody Valentine", and Jonny agreed. No joke.
  13. I'd usually agree, but i have to say, I want to be eased into this album. We've already got one intense song to deal with, so I think the opener should only hint at what's to follow. Apparently it builds up to a climax, which is fine. As long as its not another Politik (which i do love, by the way), with the crashing and banging at the start, I think I'll be fine. If every song is as intense as violet hill, as much as I like it, I think they'd be overdoing it. I'm sure thats not the case though.
  14. I totally agree with you on that one
  15. I'm hearing this: I don't want to be a soldier With the captain of some sinking ship Which is down, far below Does anyone else hear this? I don't think "With snow" makes sense in that context anyway. And yeah, I'm fully open to the idea that he's saying "armour", and not "honour". Both would fit anyway.
  16. Ok, post edited. It would be like the band just jamming on stage live. I would love that.
  17. Thats a good point... might be no need to play Eno's music anymore, since its already partly manifested itself on their songs. Its an interesting idea, but I think it might do well in the middle of the setlist somewhere, just to let the other songs breathe. Sorta what keane did with the instrumental on their "Under The Iron Sea" album... I'm probably not making any sense, though. :P
  18. So anyway, back to the topic on hand (Please?). Does anyone think "Life In Technicolor" will still be played live, even though it is said to only be an instrumental? I'm just think, because it opens the album, it should be epic as well.
  19. Not all threads need to be full of smart-arse remarks, either.
  20. Another thread ruined. Sigh.
  21. Yes, thats exactly what I'm getting at. Even from Parachutes > AROBTTH, I think that In My Place was the most "Parachutes" like song on the album, and therefor a good choice as the first single. I mean, can you imagine if they released Politik as the first single? Exactly. But maybe VH is the most "commercial"/"mainstream" song on the album, and in that case, we haven't heard nothin yet. I'm glad to see someone was thinking the same as me though
  22. Because its the first single, its probably going to be near the beggining, because they want to get the concert up and running with a song people are already familiar with. Thats my opinion. Something tells me it could also make an unconventional, but an absolute belter of a CLOSER, though (crazy idea, I know). But I suppose I can't really say, because I havn't heard any of the tracks yet.
  23. Hahaha, wow. I didn't know this song was this hated! I guess this happens every time, then?
  24. I know I might have already posted my opinion on this song, but I was wondering... does anyone think it would stand much better when listened to in the context of the album? Don't get me wrong, I really like it, but it feels like we've been thrown in the deep end a little bit. Its almost like releasing Twisted Logic as a single for me - its dark and quite heavy, and it has a similar kind of grittiness to VH. But it doesn't seem like single material. I don't know, what do you guys think? Its kinda hard for me to explain. I still love it though :D I think I would currently give it 8/10.
  25. I definitely agree... it almost sounds like it wants to be played at 50x its normal volume.
