Time To Pretend by the way, Running Up That Hill is just a cover. Don't you think Placebo made better original works ? The Mars Volta

The Pink Floyd Thread
"Music doesn't get much better" Do you mean it's hard to find better music than Echoes ? Cause if so, I strongly agree with you !! Man, I really love Pink Floyd. Nothing flies above them in the history of music. I can't express correctly how good and important their music is to me.

Album first impressions!....then Overall impression! (Rate!!)
Yeah but for me 15 Step, Bodysnatchers and Jigsaw sounded like 1000 times better on the album, at the first listening. To me it's been First Impression 9,5/ 10 Overall 9,5/10 I still have a problem with All I Need and House Of Cards

Briggins random list: Top 10 songs that are 7+ mins. long
I'd like to add three Porcupine Tree songs : Buying New Soul (10 minute version obviously) Arriving Somewhere But Not Here (I get on a trip soooo far away when I listen to it) Open Car + Start Of Something Beautiful (two songs musically paired and so fucking good !)

Album first impressions!....then Overall impression! (Rate!!)
Here I go : The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute First Impression - 0,5/10 ! Overall - 20/10 !!! It's always like that with The Mars Volta. First you don't even think it's music, and then you realise it's the best music an active band is making nowadays.

Your favourite covers
Of course there's Hallelujah, and then : Placebo's cover of Bigmouth Strikes Again is quite good, i like it a lot. Muse's Feeling Good is OK, as well as Can't Take My Eyes Of You The Mars Volta's Things Behind The Sun and Memories kick ass. And I'm not very fond of Muse's House Of The Rising Sun : i think it sounds a little too brutal, given the mood of the lyrics, plus he chose to sing The Animals' lyrics, when everybody knows Dylan's ones are a billion times better.

Radiohead
Oh yeah, they sound a lot alike ! Both songs seem to have a rhythm, chords and a progression. Seriously there's no notable resemblance at all. Two good songs, that's all.

Last Album that you bought/acquired?
Jason Mraz - We sing. We dance. We Steal Things. Pink Floyd - More

Song that make you leap out of your seat!
I'd say : Arcarsenal and Rolodex Propaganda by At The Drive-In Idioteque, of course, as well as There There (Radiohead) many many others, but none that I can think of right now.

Future sound of London
I've gotta give them a listen.
-
YELLE
the problem is that in France, it's very difficult not to associate Yelle's music to the Tecktonik joke/phenomenon, which is absolutely riddiculous. I think taken alone as itself, this music isn't that bad, actually.

Porcupine Tree
On Deadwing album, I think the succession Arriving Somewhere/Mellotron Scratch/Open Car/Start Of Something Beautiful is absolutely awesome.

Songs that take you back...
Well there's a song I listened in repeat mode as I was reading an entire Manga series. Now everytime I listen to that song I get pictures of that manga in my head. That's really cool. The series is Fly, and the song is Pink Floyd's Julia Dream, or how PF show they can make a wonderful 3-minute-verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus song if they want to. Another one is MC Solaar(french rapper)'s Caroline, which reminds me of a girl who broke my heart and never really left my head, and of course is named Caroline.

Future sound of London
I've heard about them many years ago, when it was mentioned as some music related to Pink Floyd, but I don't know if it's accurate or not. What would you advise me to listen first ?

Radiohead
I really love both, but I tend to prefer Amnesiac. Briggins said that he can't find any weak moments in Kid A, well it's the contrary to me. I sometimes am not in the mood for the whole National Anthem (i sometimes get bored listening to it) nor Treefingers, even though I love both tracks. Anyway, there is no moment i dislike in Amnesiac : besides obvious masterpieces like Pyramid Song, Knives Out, Like Spinning Plates and Life In A Glasshouse, i also adore Pulk/Pull's bizarreness, Hunting Bears transports me so well, and i love Morning Bell/Amnesiac (it's so f**king strange !)

Radiohead
Yeah, but it's not so good. I'm glad they changed Fake Plastic Trees after that show, before recording it. Blow Out at the end kicks ass, though.

Porcupine Tree
I love In Absentia but I have a slight preference for Deadwing. Arriving Somewhere But Not Here and The Start Of Something Beautiful are amazing. I saw them live too, one year ago. They did the whole Blak Planet album, including Anesthetize, which was incredible live, especially the drums.

Porcupine Tree
Hello. I'm a fan too. I like both the slow-progressive-neverending-music and more-electric-kickass-prog-rock eras. ^ I really don't know.
