  1. Had to delve into the archives to find this thread, but really had to say... I adore John Legend! His voice is so refreshing. It's amazing. And the lyrics - wow, incredibly inspiring. I recommend giving him a listen just once if you haven't already, time to get lifted people
  2. the other boleyn girl 8/10 pretty entertaining, heaps of drama, a bit too much negative aspects though, but it's based on historical events so it's not as though they could be too flexible with the plot.

I'm sure there is a thread on this delightful treat already! I remember very well as I posted a huge picture of Ferrero Rochers which had me going out and getting some at the time lol. To indulge us visually, here it is again....love these!
  4. VERY interesting album title I'll say, but the appeal is not really the words itself, but the fact Coldplay have decided to use it. It just seems a little odd, and in turn, quite intriguing. I'm sure our guys know exactly what they're doing, they got away with X&Y afterall (lol). But jokes aside, this 4th album has been loooooong anticipated so whatever they named it would've come as a surprise/shock etc to many people, particularly their fans who have been eyeing the updates for any clues as to what the title would be. It does, afterall, say a lot about the tone of the album as well as the direction the band have taken. There's no changing what the title is now, so I say - Viva La Vida all! Ahem, so can have the album now... please? :D
  5. true. this works like a charm. it did last night. was reading catcher in the rye and after about 15 minutes i was out. the best thing is listening to music, something really mellow. i use to be able to fall asleep to takk... but now, all i wanna do is get up and dance (i've been Will-afied :D). I don't recommend watching tv. You can spend quite a while flicking through channels and settling on the 2nd most boring thing to watch simply because it's not the 1st most boring thing on. really. also drinking some water or a hot drink (hot chocolate or tea). dr kathy out/
  6. i don't feel like making any new year resolutions this time round. the ones I made last year (totally no memory of what the were btw) were possibly achieved to the point I feel very much on track to whatever or wherever I wanna do/go. while writing that down, i just remembered something i must do :laugh3: * play more tennis * read the whole bloody harry potter series these are in addition to the ones i made last year (which again, i can't remember, so since i only added a few, i must be doing pretty well )
  7. ^ it'll happen when it happens. most likely when you least expect it, so stop thinking about it and you'll be surprised what happens. of course i base this on very little except my own experience. also, 2008'll mean new albums from both mew and coldplay, and with heima already out, ah, one finds it hard to find fault with the world when such beautiful music is about
  8. :laugh3: yes people, show some good ol' ...... :idea2: aussie spirit ay, ay, ay ahem, oi, oi, oi. have you heard of mew? sometimes they are played on triple J. for those who know me a little better than most (no Nadia, I will not start indoctinating....yet haha) it's a danish band i adore  that's the front cover to a single of their's.
  9. differences - genuwine
  10. 2007 was a FANTASTIC year for me! 2 of my sisters got married, my parent's both got new jobs that they really enjoy, i've completed part of my new degree that i'm so excited about, and i've also found myself a wonderful guy who i've been friends with since the young school days and who is, in many ways, perfect. things are truly going wonderfully. i'm pretty happy as. music wise, it's been great as well. no complaints at all in fact :smug2: no matter what, 2008 will be a great year, i already know. can feel it even. the music side of things alone will be mind-blowing :D i hope '08 is better for all who have had a pretty downer of a year, as well as those who have had a great year too, may the goody goodness continue
  11. too funny Annie (admittedly a little late but this thread was dug deep in the archives...that and i couldn't search lol)
  12. ^ :laugh3: first week after exams i was bored. went from having too much work to having not enough to keep me occupied. went from busy to bored very quickly. now that i've got my summer job back, i'm taking this time off uni to relax just the right amount before the craze starts up again. i've learned to be grateful about having free time. i often recall saying all i'd do for a week was sleep lol it's just not physically possible, but doesn't mean i didn't try  anyway, appreciate the free time while you have it. go out to the movies, to the beach, hang with friends, go play sport, take up a hobby, read something lol. you'll want all this boring free time back once it's gone (naturally)!
  13. usually it would be the whole lot of us, (7 in total) but this year it's just me and the parents. it's nice though. in fact we just came back from driving around the neihborhood looking at all the christmas lights everyone's put up. it's splendid! just 3 days to go :santa2:
  14. wow. like shesh, that's pretty bad. what went wrong? anyway, hope things work out.
  15. looking forward to it already. fully loved awitc so if their new stuff slightly resembles that, i'd still be a heavy listener. again, not that i didn't like flux, i just know they can do so much better, oh yes, and not a huge fan of techno (like anything, too much is a bad thing).
  16. that is truly whoa. i would love to see that for real one of these days. seriously, nature can be wonderful, beautiful!
  17. ^ it's an ok song. first time i heard it i reckon it was pretty good, but i got tired of it pretty fast. i too hope their 3rd album isn't as techno driven :/
  18. i was going to get heima yesterday but got swamped with shopping. i will though. i held off getting () for way too long but we learn from our mistakes lol. Will must be thrilled though, he's probably overplayed it to the point he needs to get another copy
  19. i use to go to church when i was younger. but around 16, the frequency dwelled down to just special occasions, eg. easter, xmas, new years etc. i'm unsure why, but i've never been fond of attending church, it always seems like a drag going (really bad to say i know) but once i make the grand effort to get up and go, i feel great, pretty wonderful and thankful i went and vow to go the following week....then it's the case again of making that grand effort. really though, don't know why i don't go, not like i have to but i somehow feel i should, like it's good for me or something.
  20. ^ i feel uncomfortable seeing guys in skinnys. it just doesn't seem right. there needs some kind of ventilation happening, though i refuse to let my mind wander any further on the topic :shifty: that fashion style of skirt and leggings that go mid-way down the thigh is something i've never seen here in aus. the leggings here, at the absolutely shortest, are just below the knee. they were popular here during winter but the trend is slowly dying down. it's all about the dresses now. summer dresses since it's the season down under.
  21. wow :o i've been away way too long to even notice all these subtle changes haha. the thanks and mood features are a pleasant addition, a little random but nonetheless great
  22. i remember when Mark posted a couple images of him in the snow. at the time it wasn't a big deal, then someone started a thread about it which sparked some debate about pressure or something, can't remember all too well lol either way, glad it's kinda more out in the open now lol rest easy Mark.
  23. Failed what? Either way, sorry to hear Nina :/
  24. :laugh3: first time for a while to laugh at a thread!
  25. coldplay is still a great band, and has the potential to come back better than before, atleast redeem themselves after the release of x&y but best band of mine overall...not anymore. sigur ros is definitely up there though
