there is definitely something special about waiting for the official release. as tempting as it is (should the opportunity present itself lol) i'm going to wait till it's released in Australia, and when i can buy the hardcopy and listen to it all at once that way :)

I agree with that, yes. There is a bad side to every kind of music: pop, punk, alternative, classic, etc etc, even rock... For some reason, I'm sure I've had this conversation before lol whops!

To classify pop and emo and r&b (which should not be slashed with rap by the way) in the same category is tragic. They aren't the same, and going by your other comments here in terms of liking Coldplay a little more over Radioihead, there is a lot of uplifting r&b music out there. I just don't think you should knock r&b, as I love rock and follow various bands of the genre, but I also enjoy r&b.

Chris did a fine job, really. He didn't perform exceptionally well but he executed the song wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoyed their show from beginning to end, particularly when Jonny and Will join in - goosebumps! Only suggestion would've been to back down with the confetti. The first lot (red) came out way too early in the song, before anyone had really gotten into it, and left it feeling a little, anti-climatic. A part from that, great great great :)

The show finally aired here in Australia, ok, well some 6 hours ago lol, but anyway, I was really looking forward to the performance, and obviously, it was clear to see Chris' voice wasn't its best, but he certainly did the best with it's condition. It definitely wasn't usual, like as a fan, watching many of his live performances, it's easy to point-out if something isn't quite right. Either way, I loved the performance, I thought the crowd was a little stiff lol, but eh, it's the first time many of them have heard Viva La Vida so little do they know it will become HUGE! Right now they may not regard that as a good performance, or one that didn't reach their expectations of this world-famous band, but they will look back once they've heard more of this album and realise how lucky they were to have seen that performance :). Great work guys! (Btw, when Jonny and Will started backup, I got goosebumps! It's terrific!) :D

That is ridiculous. Learning is an active process and should remain that way. We're all different and learn in different ways and people should be able to study in any way they want. It also sieves out those who really want to learn from those who are there because they have to. Anyone can press a key and download anything, where is the challenge in that? Shesh, what a ridiculous idea. I hope it never materialises because that would be a disappointing and influence the following generations and their capabilities, some of which may not reach their full potential due to this standard way of learning. Hmm, interesting question Tracie. Haven't actually thought about that side of things. I guess I'm just wrapped up in the whole new album and tour that, yes, it actually is something worth thinking about. I voted for a more greener approach but at the same time I feel it would be difficult to achieve. Smaller venues to Coldplay, just seems a contradiction in terms. They would also have to hold many shows to accomodate for the larger number of people wanting to see their shows, and that could put a strain on the guys as well as extend the period away from their families etc. I'm sure if they wanted to take a greener apporach (which we can't really cancel out at the moment because they probably are doing something to minimise their impact during all this), they could. They just need to consider a lot of other things that would add to the time and cost of setting up these shows, that those less concerned with the environment would otherwise ignore. Still though, an interesting question to think about :thinking: lol

I'm sure your post is still here (somewhere) but indeed, I agree. Everyone on here are allowed and encouraged to speak their mind and not get attacked. We are all entitled to freedom of speech and self-expression of thoughts and ideas and believe it or not, not everyone will have the same thoughts. Of the 30,000 + fans on here, it's bound to happen that some will have an opinion that differs from others. Just think, what if the same thing that's happened here, happened to you? It really is enough to make you leave a forum - and to leave such a great forum like Coldplaying, that's just sad...especially since this really is the number one place for Coldplay fans. After reading Low's posts, I was initially perplexed and quite irritated, but I'm not going to run him out of the forum. We're all allowed to share what we think. Just as long as you back whatever you say up, especially if you make provoking statements that will get a response. Say what you think, it's what makes this place great, that and our love for Coldplay of course :D

On the official site they refer to it as both the short and long title so indeed, it's up for speculation. But signs point to it being just Viva La Vida, especially since it's the only words on the album cover. Oh, everything with this album has been quite cryptic, it's quite exciting :nice: lol

^ Hey Ari (again lol) It's a good point to make - this thread is a prime example of why forums are useful. In addition to being connected globally through our love for CP by this wonderful invention of the internet lol (very ooh ahhh back then, but now pretty much meh blah lol ok, /end off topic) we get a variety of opinions that clash and experiences that give new insight. As someone who hasn't ever taken drugs, I'll admit it's been interesting to read what others who have taken then, have got to say.

True. Like anything, getting educated is important, especially about drugs. That doesn't just mean for those who take it but for those who don't. I don't support getting all huffed and puffed etc towards users, especially when their arguments can sometimes reveal their ignorance about it. Another thing, smart/successful people who use it and go on to lead great lives is no indication it's ok, and by no means a worthy example to base your decision on.
