Bah, humbug! "Scrooge" school bans Christmas cards!!
yet all ther "reasons" make no sense. this is so ridiculous, seriously, like what the hell really :/ they're allowing kids to make card in art classes but that will still cause a problem in terms of pollution. and really, they talk about the degree of pollution resulting as some kinda huge amount that will take them days to clean up (this is, of course, because kids have a natural tendency to recieve their card then throw them directly onto the clean, green environment :dozey:) makes no sense. but as long as they get their "Eco School Gold Award-Green Flag" i'll be worth preventing kids from sharing xmas cards :dozey:

how long does it take to feel like you belong on a board
i snooped around this forum for ages before i joined. it really does depend on the people. the official cp forum just wasn't my style at all. this place is much more to my liking. posted i think 100 posts my first day bwahaha, yep, livia told me i should probably stop. in my defence i just went to the cp june concert and was on a higggggggh! but again the people - dear carole, will (stalk you later), josh, frengerlina nadia, my source for all things mew = gareth, and all you others who make this place great.

Disappointing
as said many times before: arobtth is their best album to date, followed by parachutes. x&y really can't compare to the first two, that's not to say it's bad, just not wow. indeed. a short album of exceptional music is better than a long album of mediocre tracks. so keep in mind - quantity doesn't always mean quality. [edit - yes, that's right now.]

Happy Birthday Eglantine!!
^ what are you doing/have you done to celebrate? i didn't do anything too special for my 19th. it was more the 16th, 18th and 21st that got more attention. totally could be different for others though.

earthquakes etc...
I use to live in Papua New Guinea. The island sits along a plate boundary so is very prone to volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunamis. Totally a case of taking the good with the bad as I absolutely love the place. Miss it so much actually. Okay, so anyway a tsunami resulted from an earthquake of around 7.0 and killed thousands of villagers there in 1998 in Aitape, north of PNG. It was horrific. Luckily I was in the captial, Port Moresby so wasn't directly affected, didn't matter though, the whole country felt the tragedy. In 1994 2 volcanoes erupted in Rabaul. Something I remember even though I was really young at the time :/ Also, while I was living there, would often experience earthquakes but very subtle to the point you knew something happened but maybe wasn't that sure lol. Anyway, now I'm in Australia and nothing really happens here except drought. Something totally foreign to me now that I've moved out of the tropics lol.

"I Love You" The right time to say it?
Having those words said to you before they leave the country is such a heartbreaking thing to experience. I wouldn't suggest anyone tell someone how they feel just before they leave overseas. You should keep it to yourself, and should you still have those feelings when/if you return, then tell that person, but doing it in a very last-minute-i'm-off-to-another-country way leaves the reciever of those words feeling quite helpless. To actually answer the question, you have to be sure of 2 things: whether what you feel is really love, and when is the right time to tell him/her. I'm seriously no expert on the matter, so I'm only drawing on personal experience and experiences from close friends, but if you realise you love someone, you need to know the right time to tell them. If you tell them too early as in before they know how they feel, then you've exposed yourself, you're vulnerable. I perfer to hold off as I can see little wrong with doing so. It gives both your feelings time to develop and sus out whether you're right for the other. So in all, the right time (for me) is after a long time. Having said that, it's different for everyone. Anyway, for some reason I tend to think it should be the guy to say it first. I've never said it first which is probably why I've grown to assume the man should be the first to say it.

Disappointing
Quite right. The album will take as long as it takes. Keep an eye on the prize. If it takes a couple years to produce a fantastically amazing album that will blow my mind, then that's something I'm willing to wait for.
