you both going to wonderful places like france and iceland - lucky - meanwhile... it's still winter here so the warm thoughts of summer are soothing. i had planned to go back to nz for the end-of-year break but i may just stay on the sunny coast and resume my summer job to earn some $ it's almost guaranteed that those plans will change as the family may end up travelling this year.
  3. ^ wowza. i only just got into this band. i enjoy neon bible, particularly no cars go which i reckon (remember i don't know any of their previous albums or hits) is fantastic. creates the kind of rush that i enjoy, you know the one where you wanna get into your car, put up the volume and drive on empty 100km roads :nice:
  4. sigur ros - gong reminded me of you Will!
  5. bloc party - a weekend in the city explosions in the sky - all of a sudden i miss everyone
  6. what about croc shoes? i reckon it was a mistake to allows these to be made, apologies to all you croc shoe lovers out there.
  7. sadly, you're probably right. i'm sure somewhere, what we feel is now politically correct is poitically incorrect to someone else etc perhaps people need to relax and target bigger issues than songs sung to little kids to make them go to bed; they sang them to me and i reckon i'm all right (haha, i'm not leaving that up for debate) long live nursery rhymes!
  8. ok, take it back a notch, better yet let's just stick with the classics  i can't believe pop songs are taking over nursery rhymes. what can the latter provide that is better than a simple nursery rhyme? i'm really asking. i mean what about incy wincy spider and little jack horner? etc what a shame really.
  9. now you tell me. i just couldn't stay awake. i'll catch it next year when it's not competing with such events as live earth for my attention, as we all know what an attention grabber that was :uhoh:
  10. well that does work, and has a modern twist, what else could one ask for?
  11. not even twinkle, twinkle little star? that is like the nursery rhyme. i don't find it surprising that the classics are dying out though, seems a lot of the old tradition is breaking down lately which is really sad for the next generation.
  12. sadly no :\ i caught the females' singles final and the men's single final but that was it. exciting stuff imo but i knew federer would take it in the end - silent achiever he is. everything else was on too late or early here for me to stay up.
  13. i didn't watch anything of live earth. partly because i was super busy but also because i saw no point in the event taking place in association with climate change. i caught some live sounds on the radio from macy gray who said something about "...saving the world, but for now let's dance and party..." :dozey: a big music fest with an environmental cause headlining by throwing the words "change the world" and "stop climate change" etc, for me atleast it did absolutely nothing to further the awareness of climate change, perhaps it even confused people who don't understand what the topic is about. i simply saw it as a chance for artists and bands to perform to a world-wide audience, of which half the intended crowd wasn't even watching. i did tune in to wimbeldon though.
  14. Lana~ Happy Birthday beautiful! I wish you a wonderful day full of happiness frengerino
  15. i knew i'd seen that somewhere!! the easter island statues of chile would've made a great wonder of the world. maybe next time.
  16. it's too direct, but it's also from wikipedia soooo....
  17. haha definitely perth. i haven'tb been to adelaide but i've heard heaps about it to the point i feel like i have been. the best way to really know is to physically go there but adelaide has never been on my travelling list :\
  18. 'if they really love each other...' well only they would truly know wouldn't they, and i think waiting to have time to propery prepare is the best decision, and that day doesn't come along all the time, the timing just fit perfectly. that and if everyone who felt they were in love shouldn't wait and just get married, that would be lame. i can't speak for all the other weddings that took place that day, but my sister wanted a july wedding because it gave them enough time to prepare. i also know of 2 other weddings that took place on that day.
  19. my sister got married :) it was wonderful, still on a high! 07/07/07 - day to remember.
  20. yes, basically 10 mins out of the city. st.lucia is quite scenic but over run by students as you'd expect. i've never heard that of the place but not more than in any other suburb i suspect ;)
  21. i catch the ipswich line when i head to uni but i've never actually been there. doesn't sound like much but i could be wrong. i'm not much of a city person, i prefer the sunny coast any day
  22. nope, didn't even watch it  i hope it was good, there was so much hype about it /wrong thread/
  23. i know, but better late than not at all  yesterday was special but for a different reason altogether.
  24. i was born in perth. i have relatives who live there. it's so far west of australia is might as well be it's own little country. the place is nice, quite pleasant but too quiet for me. ^ i'm a brissy girl but melbourne is the best!
  25. happy birthday you three ladies! :) have a great one! xo
