  8. Is he following what Thom Yorke did? as in.. make a solo album (The eraser) but not leave the band?.. that's my guess
  9. hey twistedlogic149, the article was actually posted some time back. It's not an actual review (I think).. just some fun made-up review by the magazine. =)
  10. Thanks Ravrat and Jpw48 =) I'm a little puzzled.. Does this mean that 'Violet Hill' will still be released online in three weeks?
  11. okay, just wanna ask a quick question.. What's the difference between a B-side and an A-side? (Or a double A side?) many thanks =)
  12. New article NME's Coldplay preview New single with mag next month 23 Apr 2008 - Good news for Coldplay fans as the NME are supplying a sneak preview of the band's new album. The new album, which is not out until June 16, will be their fourth, called Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. However, the NME is giving away a 7 inch next month featuring the physical release of the first single Violet Hill and double A-side track A Spell A Rebel Yell. The latter won't be appearing on the album and will only be released on this disc. Krissi Murison is deputy editor at the NME and she says Chris Martin contacted them direct: "He called up our editor one night from the studio, he said 'I have just written this song and it's the pefect song. NME readers are gonna love it, we have to get it out there.'" You can expect your sneak preview with the May 7 edition of the NME. The album's tracklisting is: Life in Technicolour Cemeteries of London Lost! 42 Lovers in Japan/ Reign of Love Yes Viva La Vida Violet Hill Strawberry Swing Death and all his Friends Ruth Barnes Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/news/20080423_nme.shtml
  13. New Coldplay Track: 'A Spell A Rebel Yell' & Violet Hill artwork! This is just to let the members who are unaware of one new discovery made by PaulSP and JPW48 be caught up in the loop! 14. could anyone zoom in on the pic of the artwork? would be greatly appreciated =D WOOO HOO!
  15. i thought the NYpost article was only a joke?
  16. Timbaland did not produce any of the songs. This hasn't been confirmed since early last year and is only considered a rumour that he wanted to work with them. The only 2 ppl who produced the album along with the band are Brian Eno and Markus Dravs. I sincerely do not hope that Timabaland produced their album, to be honest.
  17. it's in the first post..
  18. I don't really think they gave away their songs, but from what i understand it's that they actually composed the songs for the movie itself. So it's like original work for the movie and not their LP, unlike other commercial purposes where these companies wanted to use songs off their albums. My 2 cents though
  19. Hmm, it works for me. Try playing it on itunes?
  20. I'm just guessing here but I realised that there's a possibility that all the info is being embargoed by the music reviewers (eg. Rollingstone, and Billboard)..so I wouldn't be surprised if we heard track snippets from them as well. And I'm really hoping it'll be over the next 2 days =) but that's just me being overly optimistic..
  21. i thought it was on the 24th?... oh well, if anyone sees it today, I CAN'T WAIT! =D
  22. I don't think that it's an instrumental song entirely. It just has very little of Chris singing in it, including the stanza 'Baby it's a violent world'. =)
  23. Hmm, regarding 'Life In Technicolor', i think the article means that it's more of an instrumental song but Chris does sing in it. Something like 'Don't Panic', where there's a long instrumental section in the middle of the song. They then attached the instrumental part into 'Death and All his friends' (think of movie soundtracks, where a new theme for a particular character is made up of older themes combined together). My two cents though
  24. Haha, it's okay, glad you posted it anyway! =) The other new song titles sound intruiging as well, I particularly like 'Postcards from far away'. Maybe this is where the "Postcard" section of the new coldplay website we saw last month comes from?
  25. I was just about to post that!!! haha. So escapist is on the album then! =D
