  1. I'd like to see them start Buddle in the next game, Findley was an odd choice.
  2. I repeat, no one here gives a fuck. And I assume you know where to find the new thread button.
  3. run off and watch the NBA then, no one cares...
  4. Okay, so shit start for the U.S., particularly our back line with Demerit and Onyewu. Throughout the first half they were lax, inattentive and negligent. The U.S. offense however did pretty well, Donovan produced some great crossing chances. For awhile it seemed like a role reversal, with England counter-attacking, and the U.S. unsure what to do with the ball. But aside from that unlucky Altidore chance later on our offense never had enough support and was very clumsy as a result. Tim Howard is a God and our defense did well to clear away crosses, but England did very poorly with the many chances they had. Very tentative start for the U.S., I predicted the draw, but it was anything but impressive.
  5. U.S. fans to outnumber England support in big match U.S. national soccer team's Landon Donovan and his team mates prepare for training session at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg June 11, 2010 ahead of their World Cup Group C opening match against England. Credit: Reuters/Brian Snyder By Simon Evans RUSTENBURG (Reuters) - England fans will be outnumbered by U.S supporters at their World Cup Group C opener on Saturday, according to officials. U.S national team press spokesman Michael Kammarman told reporters on Friday that tournament organisers had told the federation that 8,000 fans from the U.S were expected at the Royal Bafokeng stadium while just 6,000 tickets had been sold to fans from England. "According to organisers there will be more U.S fans at the game than English fans," said Kammarman. A FIFA venue spokeswoman in Rustenburg confirmed the figures were roughly accurate and said the fans would be segregated at the venue. "There will be around 2000 more U.S fans than England fans," said the spokeswoman. England fans pride themselves on travelling in large numbers to support their team while the U.S has a burgeoning 'Sam's Army' supporter's club.
  6. Alright, well I'm gonna log off until halftime. Good luck all.
  7. I'm surprised to see Bradley replaced Buddle with Findley. I hope Buddle gets an early sub in the 2nd half.
  8. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J19-ROSfwY8]YouTube- Landon Donovan ESPN Sportscenter commercial[/ame]
  9. Altidore is officially starting for the U.S.
  10. Chris Martin told that joke 3 or 4 different times during the pre-VLV secret gigs. oh, and uncle sammy burns is epic win.
  11. Probably an own goal off the back of Onyewu's head, moments after his triumphant return via a sub.
  12. thanks, been cycling through avi's all day, but this one just felt right. And no, not Robinho.
  13. nope. *draws body of stick figure below a noose*
  14. we agreed on 2-1 a couple days ago. I see how it goes.
  15. lol, I'm giving myself away, but you've guessed two of my strikers but still not my captain.
  16. day 2 predictions: South Korea 2 - 0 Greece Argentina 2 - 0 Nigeria U.S.A 1 - 1 England
  17. Mine is one of my strikers too. and I have Messi. But I didn't pick Messi.
  18. he gathered the most points in Ian's fantasy world cup thing for today.
  19. I was working at the time, and was only seeing it through a distant tv screen, but I really liked the mexico-SA match. The france-uruguay match was blah for the most part though.
  20. what's ya'lls captain strategy? With a clean sheet being 6 points and a goal being 5 (not counting all the other bits) do you go with a keeper for safety or a striker in the event they score multiple goals?
  21. soccer crowds are usually annoying, but those tutuzelas are a cross between a wasp nest and a fly inside your ear. Most be maddening to play underneath that incessant buzz.
  22. What is somewhat interesting is how a four way tie in this group brings the amount of goals scored into question. If someone loses next week, they'll need more than a win in the last round to stay in contention.
