  2. hellz yeah! Wha dint ewe sai sew beefour??
  3. What's the official status on Drogba? I counted Cote out because of his injury, but now the news articles I'm reading are describing some kind of miraculously swift recovery.
  4. that;s what he said?
  5. come back in a few years
  6. ^beautiful, beautiful. "Lick My Love Pump" is my fave
  7. they're practicing the super secret play! :surprised:
  8. ^you were very impressive 4 years ago, I'll definitely be rooting for the aussies. teams I hope do well: USA Australia Netherlands England Mexico Germany
  9. interesting, strange how the U.S. disappeared from the WC for 40 years after that. On a different note, I forgot how close the 2002 U.S-Germany quarterfinal was. We basically got robbed by a clear handball that would've tied a game the U.S. was controlling. With all the casualties in this year's German team, they're hardly the brickwall I've been making them out to be in the likely event the U.S. does qualify second.

  11. I remember forcing my dad to watch the 2002 final, and he got a kick out of seeing the little fancy tricks that ronaldo would pull off. Much of mainland european soccer verges on the academic, while south american football is professional streetball.
  12. just realized that every single game of the world cup will be broadcast here between ESPN and ABC without needing a special package. I forgot if that's usually the case, but it took me as a pleasant surprise.
  13. At work I saw a kid wearing a new england revolution jersey. It kinda made my day as there are probably several hundred times more Man U/Real Madrid jerseys being worn in the U.S. than all the MLS supporters combined.
  14. As exciting as last final was, I'm not fond of France or Italy so I was indifferent to whoever won. I would Love to see Holland finally win, God knows they're overdue. I don't know that Brazilian soccer is ugly. It's not nearly as regimented as european soccer but its rather stimulating to watch (or maybe that's just my american ADD mentality speaking).
  15. The trailers for burning look pretty sweet, I like the black & white. can't wait to see it.
  16. I was being very presumptuous considering how close the teams are in world rank. I've somewhat written ghana off because of their losing Michael Essien, but come to think of it, I can't come up with a really good reason to write off the Aussies. I was impressed that Serbia came out ahead of France in qualifying, but that's looking less and less impressive with every game France plays. Either way the U.S. would be a hell of a lot better off than against the krauts.
  17. that's exactly what I'm anticipating. The England match is important because a win would give the US a manageable match against Serbia, while a loss pretty much destroys any chance of advancing further.

  19. zero chance for what? to beat england? No, we definitely have the potential to pull-off an admittedly unlikely upset. What I was saying before is that such predictions are not germane to which team you support.
  20. you can't judge anything by qualifying because the u.s. and mexico are the only substantial teams in the CONCACAF. You have to go by international tournaments and recent friendly's (which Josh was referring to). Last year we beat Spain and had a two goal lead against Brazil in the confederations cup. However, we waver from year to year. We made to the quarterfinals and respectable loss to germany in 2002 (a likely scenario this year, except in the round of 16), yet the US played like shit in 2006. I think we're looking pretty good going into this one though.
  21. Stop being dense mark, I haven't said anything about my team's chances.
  22. ^ exhibit A. A pathetic justification from a pathetic person for an obviously pathetic and elitist philosophy for choosing teams.
  23. I thought the puck hit him off the face off.
  24. I'm not saying the u.s. is gonna beat england, I'm saying its pathetic to ditch your home country's team on those grounds.
