  1. lawl what everyone in the whole world is gay
  2. technically, yes. Realistically, it's absolutely absurd to call someone 'they' in the context I described. This just annoys me, to be frank. I'm not going to ask if someone is neutral gendered before referring to them as he or she. How is it a negative reflection on society? It's just common sense. This tells me nothing. How do you feel? You're not sick. Until you're diagnosed with depression, I'll assume you don't have some medical condition that hinders you from functioning in society or being happy. Etymologically, dysphoria is the opposite of euphoria, so I regarded it as such.

  4. well this thread title is misleading...
  5. I lol'd. Was most of that copied and pasted from your last philosophy paper? I heavily disagree on numerous points and find your entire speech laughably misguided...but it's bedtime. If reilly is still awake, he might have a nice concise reply. If you really really really want an explanation, I'll give you a point by point in the morning. In the meantime, you made me think of this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLplQWB2S_8]Monty Python - Court Scene - YouTube[/ame]
  6. In all fairness its absolutely ridiculous to be offended or request that people make exception to you on those grounds. If you're in the room with my friend and I, I don't know your name, how would you suggest I tell them about you without using he or she? You can't. If you appear female, of course they'll say 'she/her', it's no harsh judgment on their part. At that point its your problem for making a trivial issue over something so arbitrary. With regard to this discomfort that you so dramatically refer to as 'dysphoria', come to terms with the fact that people don't mean anything by it, it's much easier than trying to garner acknowledgement from the English language for something that shouldn't define your life in the first place.
  7. Annoying the ridiculously PC deal with the pronouns and broad generalizations about 'society', has your life ever been directly effected by others as a result of being neutral-gendered? Why exactly are you concerned about 'coming out' with regard to something that I imagine the vast majority of people would never think to pry into at this stage of your life?
  8. I sorta hate to admit it, but the latest Dark Dark Dark album "Who Needs Who" is pretty good. Same fare as their last two, but somehow done better.
  9. 1. LOL. You do know you're in the lounge where half of us have forgotten that coldplay even exists? 2. Chill. Those so-called nihilists have just as much right to voice their opinions as you. If Coldplay's next album sounded like it was made by a band you hate, you would not only be outraged, but also annoyed by the influx of new fans who prefer it to the older coldplay you fell in love with. It's your own humble opinion that their recent work is better than some say it is (though one quick peek in the coldplay section tells me there are infinitely more positive fans than naysayers). There's no such thing as 'going way past' fair criticism of a band. You can't limit how much someone can love and hate an album. In any case, don't go around acting like it's the fault of someone else voicing their honest opinion that you aren't having fun anymore.

  12. Finally settled this mofo of a tracklist.
  13. I was naive in college with regard to job opportunities, but I wouldn't say it was a waste. At one point I stopped being afraid of post-college life and just took advantage of the opportunity rub elbows with pretentious academics. Granted, my college was relatively cheap (by some standards) with no loans needed. If all you want is a job, technical community colleges and specialty programs are a much better bet. I personally applied to grad school, realized how unpragmatic and expensive it would be, and said F this, I'm leaving the country and getting me a TEFL certificate. Still alive (I think).
  14. I go without spotify for a few weeks, and it's like the skies part. The latest Peter Broderick - "These Walls of Mine", and the Other Lives EP "Mind the Gap" are both worth a listen imho.
  15. England struggling against Poland, on their heels all 2nd half until Poland just now equalized with 20 minutes to go.
  16. Probably none, but the Mogwai remixes and Asobi Seksu look cool.
  17. Sweden apparently just pulled a Newcastle, coming back from 4-0 to draw 4-4 against the Germans. Shame I'm in czech republic and the only thing at the pubs was their 0-0 draw with bulgaria.
  18. The latest Taken By Trees is really, really lovely. Haven't made up my mind on the new GY!BE, ain't bad though either.
  19. How to argue and not look like a complete moron tips: 1. Don't confirm and deny your opponents allegation. Either Chelsea didn't spend a ton, or they spent a ton and you just don't care. Here you're basically saying both. 2. Don't avoid following up declarations with coherent thoughts. 'It's not about how much we spent'. Then what is it about? Oh, of course...progress. Progress that accelerated at an astronomical rate when Abramovic came along. What the hell does that mean anyway? 3. Call others jealous as a last resort. Yeah, makes you look like you have the argumentative capacity of a five-year old.
  20. Didn't notice the album came out until just now. Gotta love this pitchfork review quote: "With dramatic flair, he intones "your true emancipation is a fantasy," which... OK. But "the time..." Go on. "...it has come," that "it," perfect. "To destrooooyyyyyy..." Destroy what? Make sure you put your drink down as Bellamy screams "YOUR SUPREMACYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" because all of a sudden having The 2nd Law only in audio form feels pathetically inadequate-- next time you will place it against footage from Starship Troopers, although the closest visual equivalent to this batshit moment is a dinosaur with a cowboy hat manning a F-15 and blowing evil aliens to bits while scoring the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl. That's not even the most ludicrous part-- wait until that bit of spy guitar comes in at the end, bearing no melodic resemblance to what just transpired and inferring Muse believes they've made their James Bond theme. No, really." http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/17281-the-2nd-law/
  21. Matthew Cooper's Aphex Twin style side project comes out in 3 days. http://eluvium.net/works/
  22. Bayern just lost 3-1 to Borisov. One of those games where you tune in during the last 15 minutes and wonder how the other team ever had a chance, much less a goal. Obviously they were pushing up at that point. But with the chances Munich had in the last 10 minutes alone, I still fancied them to equalize.
