  1. IDK, it doesn't matter to me, but I do see how it could make it less enjoyable for some people. It's all personal preference really. If nothing else, it's better that people who would be bothered about that sort of thing not go multiple times, than go, be disappointed then b!$#h about it on here endlessly.

    That .gif is aWeSoMe!:laugh3:
  3. Yeah, if it being different is a big deal to you, I'd say only go once TBH.
  4. IDK if it's sold out or not, but it's been a practice of the band for several years to "upgrade" people like this. It could easily be done from their comps, sold out or not.
  5. FWIW Photos people have posted make me think the view from those seats is probably pretty good.
  6. Don't get your hopes up too far. They soundcheck a lot of stuff that never makes it into the set. Any one of those would be super cool though.
  7. That's the thing, I don't think their sets have changed all that much time-wise. I've seen them 8 or 9 times now (starting in 2003 and going to last summer) and every show I've ever seen them do hovers right around the 90-95 minute mark. I know when I saw them in 2009 (when they were supposedly playing longer), the gig I attended was still only 95 minutes.
  8. The Rose Garden does have a reputation as one of the best acoustical arenas in the U.S. Should be a good one.
  9. What upsets me about this kind of thing is that the people involved (in this case Jonny and Will) are real people and it just seems somehow cruel to post stuff like this about their personal lives when it's just a malicious(sp?) fake.
  10. That's certainly technically possible with those MIDI keyboards. I think they might do that for some songs.
  11. I don't think it's a case of being lazy so much as it is a deliberate choice to have two layers of Chris' vocals (live and recorded).
  12. As long as the band isn't miming instruments they're actually appearing to play (Coldplay doesn't), I don't have a problem with it. Although I often do wish people could see them play without any background looping, as people do have a tendency to think a lot more is pre-recorded than is actually the case.
  13. I kind of get why a certain mindset does it as far as Wikipedia goes, as a lot of other sites just repeat what's on there verbatim, so people get some sort of thrill watching a rumor they started spread like wildfire through the internet (and further.) I did laugh though when someone added their name to the list of previous members of the rolling stones (with the tag "had to retire due to awesomeness"):laugh3:
  14. It's actually a paraphrase of a famous editorial about the Jagger/Richards/Marianne Faithful Redlands drug bust in the mid 60's, which was itself derived from a poem by Alexander Pope. I'm sure Chris was probably aware of both the poem, and it's connection to rock history when he decided to use it.
  15. Maybe they just all got matching tee shirts!:laugh3: Seriously though, someone posted the exact same breakup rumor on Will's page for him and Marianne, and it came down right away, so now I'm even more sure it's some jacka#$ trying to troll.
  16. Guy is wearing a Space Invaders shirt in the Shiver video (maybe Chris'?) I think that's probably how that rumor started.
  17. There was a Viva era radio interview (one of those local market promos they did) where the host asked him about that, and he had no idea what they were talking about. Then he asked him about his daughter and you could tell he was kind of put out but trying to be polite and finish the interview. It was ackward, but very funny.:laugh3:
  18. And Guy loves Space Invaders and Captain America.
  19. I'm not sure I'd buy that.:dozey: Chris is energetic, but no more so than a lot of frontmen.
  20. Things like that get stuck up on Wikipedia all the time. I just thought it best to get the fact that it is as yet unsubstantiated by any legitimate source before it started making the rounds here. A lot of these crap rumors take on a life of their own.:dozey:
  21. Appearantly, JB's Wikipedia page had something on it about him and Chloe seperating earlier today (didn't see it, was told about it.) it's gone now, so it's probably just the usual Wiki foolishness, but still...sad if true:cry:
  22. IDK, he usually doesn't look quite this self confident IMHO.
  23. Except that still doesn't resolve your grievence. Since you can't actually do anything to make the band play longer/different sets etc., the only recourse you have as a disappointed fan (imperfect as it may be) is not to go if those things are going to significantly impair your enjoyment. As to what's holding them back, I'd say only themselves at this point.
