When do you think LP5 will come out?
Cheers to that, though I'm still sad if all that Festival excitement was for nothing. I pictured youtubing Coldplay's headlining gigs on repeat, playing mindblowing new music! Not mindblowing music I've heard them perform wayyyy too much.

If this is true, I will be extremely dissapointed and saddened. That would just be the lamest move of their career so far.

Tim Wheeler and The Pierces talk about Coldplay's LP5 recording sessions
Start from scratch again.. It seems like that's the only thing they have done all this time.

Damn that would really be lame in my opinion...

[10-July-2011] Coldplay @ Oxegen festival, Ireland
Im sooooo with you! It's getting crazy, they basically are headlining every major festival, and yet not told us any solid LP5 news!
-
[9-July-2011] Coldplay @ T in the Park, Balado, Kinross-shire, Scotland
Damn they can't be headlining every major festival in the world without a new album out.. can they?

Parlophone's A&R for Coldplay: LP5 expected "towards the autumn"
I did hear a radio 1 DJ once discuss that the new approach is to make music available as fast as possible in hopes of minimizes the number of people downloading low quality leaks, and maximize the number of people legally downloading high quality albums. I can only hope this is applied sooner rather than later. The other thing that's annoying about waiting for a new album, is getting that single months and months in advance.

Parlophone's A&R for Coldplay: LP5 expected "towards the autumn"
Not sure I like the idea of waiting until autumn, because right after that the shitty winter kicks in again :P

Parlophone's A&R for Coldplay: LP5 expected "towards the autumn"
Yeah I don't get their strategy headlining Festivals without new material to promote. Maybe it's not that bad, we'll at least get new songs played live.. and later on the new recorded album, which may even contain different songs. Who knows what's going on. I am desperate for their new music, but I'd be dealing with it better if Rodie didn't taken so long between updates. And it's hard to believe they are still writing songs, I'm sure there's plenty mind-blowing ones to choose from by now.

Radiohead
Damn this is the best news I've heard in a long time! It got me through the day, made me listen back to all Radiohead I have!! Now if only Coldplay announced their MTM is released nthe next weekend that give me a heart attack

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
Maybe MTM is the main song of the album, or just one of many. But they always have named their albums off of an album track...

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
I knoww, I was hoping to hear "Choosing the main batch of songs, and the running order they'll go on the album takes longer than you think" This really makes it sound like they haven't made much progress in the last month and a half :( Still they are booking all sorts of Festival headlines so they can't be thaat far. Also with bands this big, mixing and mastering probably doesn't take so long, the pro's know how to do an amazing job at amazing speed. This is exiting though, just earlier I posted we needed a new blog soon. :D

[9-June-2011] Coldplay @ Heineken Jammin' Festival, San Giuliano Park, Venice, Italy
Damn all these headline announcements but yet no new music ones. Not even a Rodie update on the tea situation!
-
[25-June-2011] Coldplay @ Glastonbury festival, Worthy Farm, Pilton, UK
This is certain THE glastonbury fest to ever attend!

LP5: How are you all feeling?
Im fricking anxious for some solid news on this album. How about a potential track list? Another 42 blog? Another pic?
-
[28-June-2011] Coldplay @ 'Where The Action Is' festival, Gothenburg, Sweden
Dam all these new Headlining shows and no real solid news on LP5. It must be done by now if they are securing all these gigs.. I kinda feel like Prospekt updated us a little better on Viva than Roadie 42 has. He gave us track names, the track list possibilities, the name or the album. Why are we in such silence..

Chris and Will on BBC Radio 1 This Week re: LP5 (Friday 7th January 2011 @ 7-10am GMT)
Holy damn! What if they are surprising Zane with the new single?!

Live Blog from Liverpool and Newcastle Gigs December 19 & 20 [aka Return of the F5 abusers!]
I certainly was, that one or one other new one. They better not debut anything at the super uptight gig on New Years, that be lame.

Coldplay to play Christmas Lights in the Radio 1 Live Lounge (YouTube vids in first post)
Thats awesome. It's odd that they are playing gigs without having the new album ready. I cannot stop wondering if they are doing it to test out new songs, or to play all the old ones just to play live and get out of the studio for a while. But that sounds like it would throw them off track when they make it sound like they don't want to stop working on the new album.

New Album will be a concept album according to this BBC interview.
Im also curious to know how.. I don't like Green Day thought

Awsomenesss! 'at the verge' does make it sound as if they are releasing it tomorrow.

Coldplay Top of the Pops updates
Hah! I always thought this show was totally mimed, but wasn't sure.. Aw man, thats quite sad to confirm though
-
Word Of Music's non-fangirl opinion of "Christmas Lights"
Totally am with you. I also preferred the little snipped of Wedding Bells from South Bank show over the little snipped of Christmas Lights on 60 minutes. As stated before it is a Christmas song which makes it a bit hard to get through, and musically I have trouble enjoying 6/8 songs. I love the whole first part of it though! And I think it's really interesting how they slow the beginnings of the chorus?

Camapign to get Christmas lights to number 1 / Chart updates
Hmm not sure I understand why it's important to get them to #1. I love Coldplay, I own every piece of music (in probably more than one version) they have done. But I don't see the point here. The charts aren't quality based, they are just dull popularity contests.. I could be wrong, it's just what I think.

Chris Martin & Jonny Buckland to premiere Christmas Lights on BBC Radio 1 and XFM tonight (1st Decem
If only Will could choose his bass drum sounds and drum parts quicker! It's hard to believe they are still playing around and trying different parts.. Especially if they have been working on songs that are older than that! No wonder the tunes come out so amazing, but still. I adore Christmas Lights! Now I want more new Coldplay though :(
