  1. Bugger, if only I voted proparly Stone Roses wouldn't be under Definatly maybe, maybe? Oh well I dont think the Arctic Monkeys debut is so special, its a good album tho. And all said and done most of these debuts arnt the bands best albums.
  2. Sparks / High Speed and We never change never intrested me on Parachutes, so I would always deny it greatness and classic status.
  3. Is pretty meaningless, i've been working through all these undisputed masterpeices and finding most of them overrated. At the end of the day I found very few masterpeices and here they are, do you agree? and what are yours. Abbey Road - The Beatles Dropping the special effects that seem excessive and dated in the modern age and removing the fat from the S/T's double album this is the Beatles at perfection. Come together still has the most sleazy and suave riff of all time, She's so heavy is still brilliantly hypnotic and even Harrison and Ringo's contributions don't provide low points like in previous albums. But the real thrill is the 16 minute melay at the end which reminds us why the Beatles are so good with dreamy vocals and brilliantly inticrate guitar solos that never get excessive. The Bends - Radiohead RH's first of 2 masterpeices, some how its not regarded as often alongside Ok Computer and Kid A as it should be. The Bends for me is the best Radiohead album, thoughtful, sincere and passionate, its acoustic rock done exactly right yet with the title track and Just being RH's most entertaining rockers. While never being excessive like every album from this point would be guilty of. It's also completely unique while also spawning a new breed of mature rock music that included Travis and Muse. OK Computer - Radiohead My first album and perhaps Radiohead's best, mainly because I love concept albums when they work and this one certainly does. Brimming with pure genuine emotion its a guilty pleasure for the cynical of us who feel out of shape with the modern world. Song wise everything there is brilliant with terrific sound scapes such as 'climbing up the walls' and 'electioneering' recorded in a haunted mansion this is undoubtable an epic. A Rush of blood to the head - Coldplay While Radiohead create a feel of living in a cage Coldplay have always been far more open. The emotion more raw and central to the music, starting with Politik a star gazing plea for world harmony and ending with a moment of true heart felt redemption this album frequently gives me shivers with its pure emotion. Everything between is just as affecting and savage. Mainly because while not a great singer Chris Martin's voice is subtle and expressive and the acoustics resting behind hard hitting piano is to die for. Urban Hymns - The Verve Clocking in at 70 minutes this album is indeed epic by tecnicality however opening with a moment of sheer brilliance 'bittersweet symphony' this album never lets up as it drifts from hard hitting ballads to shoe gazing epics. Throughly and completely affecting from start to finish Ashcroft sings to the heavens questioning everything in an album that is conceptual of life itself. Propably the most underrated of my choices and the one that doesn't get the recognition of inspiring Coldplay that it clearly deserves. Albums I wanted in but really couldn't commit to: Blur - 13 Blur - Parklife Blur - Blur Muse - Absolution Muse - Origin of Symetry U2 - Achtung baby Stereophonics - Performers and cocktails Stereophonics - Word gets around (All fine albums but not masterpeices)

I just wish he would stop skipping across the stage.
  5. I was supposed to get HAARP for easter but my mum was too lazy, she said she would get it yesterday but then she didnt have the money, wouldn't be so bad if she told me before first thing this morning. So naturally im playing The National Anthem on repeat (she cant stand it) And I ran her a cold bath :)
  6. Prove yourself, for its complete emoness!
  7. Ah but real Politik is a word, a german word for politics that are about humans and avoiding their suffering. Rather than politics which is linked to ideology. If you think of Real Politik as what John Lennon was singing bout in Imagine and politics in all those evil countries starting evil wars.. And so ends todays lesson!

They didn't play Twisted logic on the twisted logic tour? thats just dumb its my favorate coldplay song after A Rush of Blood to... Not a good song to play live? its the perfect finaly as it borrows so much from that legendary climax 'A Day in the life' by the beatles.
  9. I can outwit my mates in musical discussions if they bash Coldplay, mainly with the 'well at least i listen to bands before I decide I don't like them, and respect other peoples tastes' Its bashing Muse or Franz Ferdinand that I get most often. 'Just some scots, singing about random things with silly accents' to which I would respond, yes that is the point!
  10. Since the industry is trying to discorage piracy I don't get why they don't go all out on the presentation of the CD format? In CP's case cheap plastic, no lyrics in fact no nothing really. Pretty much nothing except respect for CP to stop me stealing the CD on the internet. Most bands seem to have annoyingly unintresting or none existant inlays. What do you guys think?
  11. You gotta roll with it, take your time!!!!!!!! - Oasis
  12. wow the two titles completely contridict each other, I want Death and his friends because the album is supposed to be sexier and darker. Plus I have an album called We love life by Pulp and its a pretty good, tho that album works on the idea of uplifting music not CPeske music.
  13. Nothing, except people have stated that they feel they shouldn't vote for creep or that their sick of it.
  14. At the moment its Dead star Fav song on AbbeyRoad? The beatles
  15. The boy with no name Franz Ferdinand
  16. I can see Creep isnt going to get a fair trial
  17. Not a big fan of Hyper Music its just left over teenage anxt from showbiz. But I didn't vote for it, Micro Cuts this time because the falseletto doesn't add much.
  18. I love that one, so effective on headphones, like someones yelling in your ears. Then his voice cracks and its just WOW
  19. Creep's structure is almost exactly the same as Fake Plastic trees, but the latter is a way better song that makes Creep redundent to me.
  20. This is proper wikipedia, not coldplaying.
  21. Just added this to Wikipedia, I bet it wont be there long
  22. This is a very good debut album if you look at it for what is is, its RH's worst album by a mile but theres a lot of good songs here and nothing is unlistenable. Blow out works on this album, it still sounds relitively immature like everything on this album such as 'i wish i was dead'... Pablo Honey to me sounds like a band coming of age unaware of their own potensial, not sure what to sound like (look at the style issues of early radiohead) but theres some moments of greatness. Mostly when their taking homage from grunge and shoe gazering. Thom sounds so young here too. I hope Creep wins through, because even if people are sick of it it is the best song here, followed by Blow out, Vegtable, Anyone can play guitar and Lurgee.
  23. Not too sure any Travis albums are that great, the latest was just a selection of pleasent songs. At least The Man Who had a sense of proper consruction and inventiveness.
  24. bah my favorates are going to be gone so fast. Im only just realising how much i like everything on this album now I need to pull it apart. This is definatly the best Muse album its very consistant, I would say Absolution but its too long for its own good with some filler.
