  1. 5 A day in the life The Beatles
  2. I heard a rem song I quite liked today, I may check out this band now (Happy smily people)
  3. My Iron Lung is fun to sing along to. Street spirit for me is made even more brilliant by what the band says about this song. How the devil kinda possessed Thom and wrote it.
  4. Im sure you can figure out why money is no object. Basically I want to make an EP of ideas and stuff ive thrown together over the last few years. I have no experience with sycronising music, and i dont play any instruments. I need software that allows me to create my own songs with guitars, strings, syncs, drum machines and piano. And hopefully easy to use... i have windows xp cheers
  5. The Verve - A Storm in Heaven Travis - 12 Memories Before then The Beatles - Stg Pepper Arctic Monkeys - Fav worst nightmare Muse - HAARP Radiohead - Nude (single) So yeah, Im happy with my months purchases.
  6. Creep is hardly a bad song, if Radiohead had never had another hit in their career this one would still be recieving regular airplay. Also remember Radiohead fans are the music bigots of the world.
  7. 9.5 The Verve
  8. I love listening to Nice Dream when im walking home alone, I think thats the best time to listen to Radiohead. I can relate to most of the songs on this album,
  9. Coldplay got me into Radiohead that got me into Muse, all 3 are my favorate bands. Radiohead, then Muse then CP
  10. All songs they could never pin down to an album, my guess is RH's going to release some stand along dl tracks by the years end (hense the return to the studio)
  11. Lyrically its brilliant, but as a song its pretty boring. More a respect thing than something I enjoy. Kinda like Scrubs!
  12. Id rather buy things I haven't played to death already :)
  13. It's more in the delivery than the lyrics really. So ill pick one line I take at face value but gives me shivers. 'Created, then drilled and invaded, if someone made it someone will mess it up' From Twisted logic
  14. The Cd does, the vinil for some reason does not. And to the above poster, no thanks, I'd rather wait until the 3rd single comes out with hopefully more B sides from CD2. I feel guilty about not paying a dime for InRainbows.
  15. Picked up the Nude single. Nude isn't one of my favorate songs on InRainbows but I really wanted to get the B sides since I didn't get the Disc box. Well theres 2 B sides here not 1 as Wikipedia suggests, Down is the New Up and 4 minute warning. 4 minute warning is a typical Radiohead horror show, very like Videotape/Motion picture soundtrack (tho more intresting musically) it could have finished off InRainbows but I guess Videotape has the imortal line 'the greatest day I've ever seen' Down is the new up is a pretty long (for a RH song) epic of heavy clanging percussion reminding me of Dollar's and cents from Amersiac. Its got an intresting vocal hook in 'Down is the new up' and reminds me of watching a magician perform torture based illusions. My verdict, typical Radiohead, worth the £2 but I hear the other songs on In Rainbows disc 2 were better, heres hoping they'll be on the next single. Which should be All I Need / 15 step or Body snatchers (if RH want something for the night clubs)
  16. Albums that are happy? Well the best example is Stg Pepper's lonely hearts band, brilliantly cherpy album from The Beatles, lots of fun sounds and weirdness. Parklife - Blur - Happy bouncy pop with an eye for detail, parodies British life in a jokey manor. Either Franz Ferdinand albums - all trippy, bouncy and poppy guitar driven music. Oasis - Morning Glory in particular, loud rock music that makes you feel great. Pulp - Great pop band thats pretty unknown, Different Class is a fun and dirty album highly recommended. The Stone Roses - Classic album of the 80's full of good happy songs.
  17. Bones - nice dream is one of the best on this album IMO. I love everything here, so this will get criminal towards the end. Street spirit (fade out) - Fake plastic trees to win here tho. And maybe the competition!
  18. I made this my playlist for this evening, I will return with a verdict. Just as an opener is a great idea tho, but theres too much good RH for a best of. Oh and True love waits isnt recorded, its an outtake from the Live EP, they never have recorded the studio version and if they now did it would belong to Radiohead.
  19. Contrary to common belief, Chris Martin is a human being, if you took a picture of anyone else without permission, you could be sued and you deserve to be. Caught in the moment? how about total violation of privacy?
  20. I find the title of this thread misleading
  21. Some bands that get in the top 25 wont be worth a mention tho, so I wouldn't worry about it.
  22. Isn't it just. I think its the fact it became the next big thing, the next 2 albums Morning Glory and Be here now are brilliant however. With Blur if you don't like pop remember singles genrally only give you the popiest songs on the album. For me Blur can be just as deep and meaningful and intresting as any other band you listed. Ignore the brit pop years at first and pick up. Blur s/t - total departure, its an experimental rock album, with great low fi vocals and guitar, I adore the sound of this album. 13 - This is the one I recommend to Radiohead fans, or Muse fans, or Coldplay fans, it weird and experimental. Think Tank - Takes experimental to the next extreme, this isn't my favorate because of the lack of guitar. BTW most Blur songs I didn't like at first, but I found that with every band to an extent. If your going with Travis your basically getting a less good Coldplay. The man who isn't a personal favorate like everyone else, some of the songs are too empty and sentimental but its cohesive at least. The Invisible Band is way better imo though similar, and The Boy with no name is basically just radio friendly tunes from A to B with no depth or variety. Achtung Baby for U2, Joshua Tree is a total epic but it has some less intresting bits. So does this but its more cohesive in the long run, only So Cruel and Trying to throw your arms around the world annoy me. My verdict get: The Invisible band, Blur and Achtung Baby And since your a The Verve fan, make sure you pick up their debut A Storm in Heaven if you haven't already :)
  23. Gotta agree with these two above, U218 or All you can't leave behind (lots of big pop songs) Starting with the best of to see all the different styles then find out which era of U2 you like the best and pick up albums from that era. U2's albums are well worthy buying even if you have a best of. In Rainbows, Ok Computer/The Bends are your first call for Radiohead (the latter are the most intresting) And Muse absolutely, everyone here likes Muse, pick up Absolution if you like heavy rock, or Black holes and revolations if your a poppy person. (im genralising ofc but its the best way) Other recommendations are hard until we know what you like...
  24. 1. Radiohead (who will win) 2. Muse (who will come second) 3. Coldplay 4. Blur 5. The Beatles 6. The Verve (who will be underrated again) 7. U2 (who will do very well) 8. Travis (who will do very well) 9. Feeder 10. Franz Ferdinand 11. Arctic Monkeys 12. Modest Mouse 12. Oasis 13. Pulp 14. Stone Roses 15. Stereophonics
