  1. The guitarists are pretty hot :)
  2. Weve all done it, you go on wikipedia for a single purpose and it branches out, and out and out... till you end up on a completely obscure page of the most perfect webpage. Heres an example, its slightly exadurated because I couldn't possibly remember the full flow. I was looking at war crimes in the Vietnam war which led to... Vietnamese war crimes, Anti war movement, Hippie, Summer of love, Albums of summer of love, White album (the beatles), List of lennon songs, Yoko ono (disambigugation), List of products named after real people, List of yogart products, Actimel, Stomache, Intestine, Tape worm, Stomache failure, Death, Near death experiences, Life report, Asphiation, Fatal hilarity list of people who have died from fatal hilarity, I discovered someone died after watching a Wish called wander (a movie with ex Pythons) So what adventures have you guys had on wikipedia?
  3. 73 - thats about right, they don't have 1,500 songs yet afterall..
  4. Recently got into them, I own out of time and Automatic for the people, are their any other great albums? Losing my religion, Near wild heaven, Sidewinder sleeps tonight and find the river are my favorates.
  5. They seem to be inspired greatly by Stg Pepper (who convinced them to record an album with such limited time) so I guess they're doing all the things that made that album ecectric. Mics inside the instruments, weird sonic experimentation and simple and excentric songs. Hearing this song I can tell this is going to be one of my top albums for this year, Travis's last experimental album 12 memories was brilliant too if a little out of place. If you've tracked down any of Travis's B sides you'd know they use the most Travisy songs for the album and do lots of experiments and covers for the B sides. http://www.mellowmusic.org/2007/06/24/travis-b-sides-covers-some-live-songs/ You can download a lot of B sides here in 2 parts. Travis's B sides are quality so I hope you do!
  6. It doesn't sound very finished to me, like a demo. I really like it tho, maybe more than Violet hill??? My mate who saw them at those taster gigs said they were up to something brilliant and different I guess thats the case.
  7. Shiver, because the first single should have been Yellow. Shiver's a great song no doubt but it took me ages to like.
  8. Most of the B sides I didn't like so ill ignore them, of album tracks then. What if - bannel ballad anyone could do. The hardest part - It's not good, its another boring choice for a single. We never change - Boring, like the track before it, from an other wise strong album, making it my least fav of the 3. High speed - boring Till Kingdom come - Just boring, nothing to keep me coming back to it. For me X&Y ends on the brilliance of twisted logic.
  9. Muse want to just release singles and best of's, they said in that interview however it depends on how open minded their publishers are. In the new Q magazine Muse revealed they have got some stuff down in the studio, a 10 minute long song for one, more bass driven songs and attempts at new genres. They didn't say when its due or how its going to be released, because they don't know yet!
  10. Slide away / Wonderwall - Oasis To the end - Blur Something changed - Pulp
  11. Nick Mcabe said backstage to NME journalists the new album is due in August. Due to delays, i'm guessing it's recorded now if they're on tour.
  12. I wrote this as a knee jerk reaction to hearing Losing my religion, so don't give me any credit! (free verse) Honey, dry your dreams away, cause their gone, They have been since I said, What I did, and It's too late, to undo, what we did, or what we are. Wish upon a random star, Cause I had a dream, MLK had a dream too, yea, And its not like mine, mines selfish, i've got no spine. but at least its honest, and it's achievable, But like Martins, it won't come true, oh no. I said I'd believe nothing, no nothing, till i've seen it with my own two eyes, Yeah I said, I'll believe nothing till it curls up and dies, like love from above. I'm sorry, I'm quick to anger, I'm still sorry, Sorry about all the lies, But I told you, If you leave me, Darling, you'd leave me in a state, So wait, Cause I can change, Heavens, I know, I know I've said it before but I mean it. You've showed me the damage, yea ive seen it too. And it fills me with shame, but im only human. I'm only primal, I'm only normal, I got no common sense, Not that it's that common, But I guess thats an excuse, It's not a good one, But it's something, I'm something. And my backs on the wall, If you don't catch me, then I guess I fall, But I don't care, Whats to care, Saved by the milk of human kindness, your kindness, Cause it's bringing me around, It's white noise, its no other sound, It's a cry for help, A distant yelp, I prayed for what to do next, He sent back no help, cause hes waiting, yeah hes waiting for me. --------------- Sounded better in my head... with a riff but its far too long, anyway there it is.
  13. Is A R O B T T H standard tuning? it doesn't look it.
  14. I will enjoy stealing from NME
  15. Wow, I hate it. If the music doesn't represent what the artwork does its a complete wasted opportunity.
  16. I've got my hang on Lucky man - The Verve, been learning that one. I have the chords down but I can't figure out the riff.
  17. Not NME... the journalism is over opinionated indie loving tosh. Arctic Monkeys being the only good band of all those that try to sound as much like the AM as humanly possible. Q is my pic, its balanced its got a lot of insightful articles, it covers classic rock and modern carefully and it gives credit where its due. It is however prodominatly british.

Reminds me of Knights of cydonia... I will buy this... one day.
  19. I've had my guitar less than a week so I'm looking for some good songs that don't require much skill to play. But sound great on an acoustic. Preferably by the Beatles / Radiohead / Travis / Coldplay and The Verve. Really easy like novicey!... thanks
  20. Its bland, really bland, its got some good songs but too much of it is so bland I just turn it off.
  21. Oh, no I have not :(
  22. Radiohead - Fake plastic trees And a lesser known gem The Verve - She's a superstar (Both are out of this world)
  23. If this is the biggest worry on your mind you've very lucky. Now why don't you wait till the LP comes out before posting stuff like this?
  24. I tried playing Creep earlier, found it too hard and that was with a video tutorial, I have a tutorial for FPT I guess I just need the sheet music now? I refuse to let 'Smoke on the water' take my song virginity ;) as my teacher suggests.
  25. So I've got to grips with my guitar (acoustic) looking for my first song to be Radiohead. Whats easiest and why? No Suprises / High and dry / Street spirit / Fake plastic trees / Karma police (others?) ?
