  1. i never quite understood why people said radiohead leaked IR themselves. my idea of a leak is when someone hacks onto a computer and steals the album then uploads it onto a torrent or rapidshare or something, or a journo gets a preview copy and does the same thing. radiohead finished the album and just uploaded it onto their website. how is that a leak? i know im being really picky here but i just find it odd how it was described as a leak.
  2. a slight departure from the question at hand but do people have only full albums in their music libraries or is it predominantly a few songs from alot of albums? or a mix of both?
  3. as usual on first listen to an art vs science track im a little meh but they all tend to grow on me.
  4. ^^ yeah im pretty much like that too. Australia's Triple J is my equivalent to "shuffle"
  5. i love the way Hollywood is structured its very well.....calculated i guess. but its been the least successful out of all their singles.
  6. usually it's full albums for me but when i download a whole lot of music i might go through and listen to single songs just to get an idea of what the albums are like. but yeah over the last 4 or 5 years ive become very much an album type of person. i sort of have the view that an album is like a movie. you cant properly appreciate a great movie by just watching the best scenes. in the same way you cant appreciate a record by just picking our your favourite tracks.
  7. you're a queenslander. enough said. :P wish triple j would stop acting like they are the only people in the world to have the new arcade fire songs. i bet you theyre just ripping it off youtube or rapidshare like the rest of us.
  8. yeah i caught them live last year and they were alot of fun! their music is clearly "stupid" but it takes brains to make stupid music sound so awesome. personal fave is Hollywood.
  9. you better be listening to triple j or otherwise................
  10. what a horrible day for football. for two reasons. first [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eU9qHaTXB8&feature=related]YouTube- Kaká Red Card Brazil 3-1 Ivory Coast 20.06.10 Fifa World Cup 2010[/ame] this might be a knee jerk reaction. but fifa really needs to bring in severe penalties for that sort of behaviour. whenever i talk to a person who doesnt like football, they tell me its for one big reason. the players are all pussies. those images will be beamed around the world for the next few days and will fuel peoples hatred for the game. the fact Keita behaved like that in the colours of his nation makes it even more disgraceful. second the comments Lippi made last night. first he said italy were "unlucky" in that game. how can you call yourself unlucky after your only goal of the match comes from a blatant dive which results in a penalty. then he went on to say "they were unlucky in this tournament because two games in a row their opposition scored from a long ball (well he called it a "lob") i would love for him to show me a goal italy has scored that ISNT from a long ball or a penalty. disgusting and disrespectful to NZ.
  11. i prefer neon bible to funeral but Wake Up is easily my favourite AF song.
  12. it is my duty to suggest a couple of aussie bands. first up the Panics and Powderfinger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ1-bZBlnzM hope you enjoy them :)
  13. it is my duty to suggest a couple of aussie bands. first up the Panics [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_cK_cIydHY]YouTube- The Panics - 'Don't Fight It'[/ame] and Powderfinger [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ1-bZBlnzM]YouTube- Powderfinger - These Days[/ame] hope you enjoy them :)
  14. heard the newest songs on the radio last night. theyre really growing on me. if thats the standard of the album i will be very very pleased.
  15. didnt know it was possible to dislike an arcade fire song. i guess you learn something everyday. :)
  16. ^^ Great Gig in the Sky was a very late omission for me. it was in my top 25. i would of put Wish You Were Here in my list also but i've always considered that album as a single piece of work rather than 5 different tracks.
  17. am i the only aussie in this fucking place!!! i can only handle so many english football fans at once :laugh3:
  18. i guess i also find neon bible an easier less taxing album to listen to. whereas funeral is much heavier emotionally and a more challenging listen. but as you can see from the scores i gave each album i find it quite difficult to clearly define why one is better than the other, the superiority if purely personal and very very minuscule. on a sidenote. it is very refreshing to have a debate comparing two great albums of this era. this blows up in the faces of those who claim the album and the appreciation of that art form is dead. if anything i would say that this generation appreciate it much more than previous ones, we have the choice of listening to it as an album or just single tracks yet we still choice the former.
  19. i agree that neon bible does lack the edge that funeral has. but i just feel that it travels much better as a single piece of art. funeral sort of feels a little choppy and messy in places. but the back to back to back combo of wake up haiti and rebellion is almost paranoid- subterreanean - exit music - esque.
  20. you skip tracks on arcade fire albums???? if you dont mind me asking. WHY!
  21. on a purely subjective basis (ie how much do i enjoy listening to it) i would choose Neon Bible over Funeral, simply because NB is more my type of music. but if you're going to go into how unique and original each record is and technically how brilliant it is, it's quite difficult to agree against the superiority of funeral. but those things only play a minor role in how much i enjoy an album. funeral - 9.3 neon bible - 9.4
  22. his arm was already away from his body when the shot was made. the shot was taken less than 10 yards from him so i fail to see how he had the time to intentionally move his arm away from his body in order to block the shot. makes no sense to me. the entire nation woke up this morning feeling very emotional, it was a mix of annoyance of losing yet another big name to a red card and feeling very proud of the 10 men who were left on the field against a clearly superior Ghanaian outfit and held on for a draw and had imo the closest chance at goal in the second half. most of us realise the dream is over (making the round of 16) so we'll be satisfied at a good victory against serbia.
  23. it is only a red card if you intentionally stick your arm out to stop the ball. kewell showed no intention whatsoever so stop the goal with his arm, they were 'almost' by his sides. at worst it was a yellow card. and nobody is arguing that it was a clear penalty. im not saying that aus would of won last night if we had 11 men but it sure would of been a better match. for the most part the reffing in this world cup has been very very good aside from some very inconsistent calls and the ref who decided to take centre stage during germany v serbia.
