i think you'll find that people on here, paticularly in 'world of music' tend to be quite passionate and somewhat protective of this era of music. most us are here are between 13 and 25 so this is truly "our" generation so its a little personal to us so naturally we feel a little threatened when people bad mouth it. i havent been around the music scene for too long so im not sure how previous generations of music were received but it sometimes feels as though this era cops alot more flack than it deserves.

my friends always get annoyed when i compare fleet foxes to mumford + sons but to my ears they make the same brand of music, yes one is louder and more bluegrass than the other but at the end of the day they're both part of this indie folk movement. of course one is far far superior to the other.

what does everyone think of the dutch style of play? do people generally enjoy the highly mechanical style of their tactics, they're regular passes back to the keeper even when there isnt really much pressure from the opposition. holland has always been my second team (after aus) but when you've been up for 20hrs that style of football can sometimes be a drag to watch. do you think that this style will work against brazil who play the complete opposite (despite johan cryuff calling brazil conservative)

i'll sell organs to go see them!!! ive got about 4hrs to kill before world cup starts so ive put on AF @ glasto on my big tv with surround sound. its getting close to the bit where they do Wake Up so i think i might need to go grab a box of tissues

yeah Laura Marling's second album is a perfect selection. mumford + sons are actually her backing band which is why they tend to have very similar touring schedules and naturally they played most of the instruments on her second album. i also thought this aussie band might be suitable [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYCDNRpyzrM]YouTube- Boy & Bear - Rabbit Song[/ame]

so far through a combination of live recordings and studio versions ive heard 7 tracks from the new album including the first 5 tracks. at the moment Modern Man is my favourite. but im struggling to really get into Rococo.

we have so many summer festivals down here they'll be spoiled for choice and will have to come!! they'll be playing to bigger crowds down here than they would be in most other places in the world.

as much as i love this place i wouldnt say its an accurate representation of the wider music community.

just watched their glastonbury set in its entirety. with no songs from showbiz, matt not playing the piano on new born, the extremely poor selection of songs from the resistance, the fact that matt seems more interested these days in being a Spinal-Tap-esque rockstar on stage (and if the rumours are true, off stage also) and their touring member seemingly doing half the work, it was a little taxing to watch. but the cover of where the streets have no name, the jaw dropping final 30mins of their set, the crowd driven cover of House of the Rising Sun and of course Citizen Erased made it worth the time. but i fear that muse have already reached that point in their careers where parts of their fanbase start to think "theyre playing a new song lets go for a toilet break or a drink at the bar" and that kinda detracts from their status as the best live act in the world.

^^ thats why i cant really get into the album. i sort of drift off after the first 6 or 7 tracks.

just wanted to get something off my chest if pearl jam dont go down as one of the greatest bands of all time there is something very very wrong with this world.

i think the lack of response to your glastonbury experience is due more to our envy than anything else. i've been dreaming for a long time about going to glastonbury i hope it becomes a reality in the next 3 to 4years.

mind you they've tweeted "test" before and nothing really followed haha. but it says the tweet is via their facebook page. but i checked their facebook page and theres nothing there....

DOES ANYBODY ELSE FOLLOW RADIOHEAD ON TWITTER!!! they never tweet!! ever ever BUT THEY JUST TWEETED!! ONE WORD..........."TEST" why am i getting excited about this? i have no idea!! if it was any other band i wouldnt give a damn. but this is radiohead. this could mean anything!

they had their american releases this year. you'll be surprised at the gaps between normal release and american release for alot of young indie bands.
