just going back to the "spain is boring" argument i wouldnt say spain is boring as such its just that when you look at their playing roster and the incredible talent they possess you kinda expect them to play a more high paced, flamboyant style of football somewhat emulating barcelona. i dont believe we've seen that from spain.....yet i dont know how many of the people on this thread follow club football but as someone who follows the euro leagues i find it very frustrating watching international football. it just feels substandard compared to the club, lacking the cohesion and skill that you might get from EPL and La liga week to week. i sort of find myself watching the world cup games just because everyone else is watching them rather than enjoying the spectacle itself.

ESPECIALLY tall sweaty overweight shirtless bogans.

not sure if we have any betting men/women here but down here in aus most of our betting agencies have put spain as clear favourites to win in normal time. could someone please explain to me how they might have reached this conclusion........

although im not a listener as such im glad it is staying. for a few reasons. one i love their twitter account, always informative and up to date. two, i listened to them almost non stop during the glastonbury weekend and they did a wonderful job with it. and three. my beloved triple j bases themselves heavily on the 6music model so if that disappears i fear that triple j might become more like Radio 1.

personally i dont think spain will be any test at all for the germans. im saying 3-1. with the netherlands v uruguay game even though im going for the dutch im hoping uruguay score first as the dutch play much more exciting football when they are chasing the game. im really not sure what the end score might be. the complete incompetence they showed in front of goal against brazil is a little worrying.

this might go down as another one of my unpopular comparisons. but i prefer Crystal Castles, they just make more interesting music. although im enjoying this sleigh bells record more than i thought i would.

gotta say having been a holland fan since their strong showing at euro 2000 its nice to see them perform to their potential once more after a non-appearance at world cup 02, bit of bad luck in euro 04, poor showing at world cup 06 and then disappointing at euro 08. uruguay i guess have nothing to lose so will be going in feeling rather fearless but netherlands have dominated every opposition they've faced so far.
