We keeping posting at the same time - this is confusing!!! Anyway, we can't have favourite pupils, but I don't see the harm in a favourite group. My favourite group is 8 set 1 - I constantly tell them that they rock and it makes them work even harder. I teach French & German to kids at an 11-16 school. My tutor group will be in Year 9 in September

Except their national squads have won trophies in recent memory... So what do you think we need to do to win stuff - or at least qualify for the tournament???

I was typing my previous response when you posted this... Just because it's in the dictionary, doesn't mean it's not rude!!! In fact, when I moved in to 6 Form, my German teacher told us we all had to buy BIG German/English dictionaries... and he said the way to tell a really good dictionary is if it has a lot of swear words. The more swear words = the better the dictionary!!!

My favourite class has 32 kids and only 2 of them are lefties... and what about Jonny & Will - do you tar them with the "C" brush???

But the Spanish and Italian leagues are smaller than ours - plus I don't think they have two cup competitions like us - do they?

Great idea - if our players played less (and therefore the same amount as those in other European leagues) the national team might do a bit better!
