  1. You rock, lady! (and doesn't it feel good to make a definitive choice?) And by the way... excellent choices!!! :):):)
  2. Exactly - it's what the web was invented for! :smug:
  3. I haven't got to go to work in the morning... I can wait! :)
  4. Bleeeeeeuuuuuuuuuurrrrrggh! I only saw the first one and that was enough!
  5. Go on then, I dare you, pick just one line!!!
  6. Yes, but the thread title is best line... I'm just trying to raise the level of difficulty here - it's the teacher in me! :)
  7. I have no idea - maybe that's a question for the Oracle. Didn't Jonny do Astronomy or Astro-Physics or something? Are you left or right-handed?
  8. Ok, I'm being picky here, but the thread is called "best line", not "best lines" You should all just be quoting one line!!! Let's face it, there are LOADS of great lyrics on each album... but which is the best?
  9. Aaaaaaargh - how could I forget "Life Is For Living"??????????? :dozey:
  10. I shouldn't worry, I think this thread may go on even longer than the Yellow v Trouble debate over on the Parachutes Elimination :wink3:
  11. I don't know what things are like in your country, but over in the UK the British press just seems to love stupidity and blandness. They love anyone who falls drunkenly out of nightclubs at 3am in the morning and look down on anyone who tries to use their brain or - heaven forbid!!! - comes from a comfortable, stable (middle class) background
  12. I prefer to think of it as naivety or innocence :)
  13. I like Lauve's statement about enjoying the colours and getting in touch with your inner child - I think that's a very Chris Martin state-of-mind. As for how they'll work in a big arena - I'm in the 18th row, so I'll let you know! I hope some of them reach me, but then I won't see it so well. The people at the back will get the best view, the people at the front will get the best feeling. 140 days and counting...
  14. I have no musical ability whatsoever, so I might not explain this very well, but here goes. There's something really comforting about a lot of Coldplay songs - the first time you here them, they seem familiar. Yellow, In My Place, Fix You... it feels like you've known them all your life. Is that the melody? Is it the lyrics? I don't know? I've been to enough concerts to know they are a great live band. I couldn't comment on the individual merits of each musician, but together, the four of them sound wonderful and each concert I've been to has been better than the last Finally, I respect them as people. In a society that seems to celebrate the dumb and mediocre, they're not ashamed to use their brains. They think about artwork and outfits, they talk about politics and the "big ideas". They step out as individuals rather than trying to conform to some petty rock star mould.
  15. I'll be honest, I don't know anything about Hannah Montana (apart from the "controversial" vanity fair shoot) What's the deal? Is she a big butterfly fan or something?
  16. I really don't want to see Lovers drop out, but Strawberry Swing is just too good, I must keep voting for it... 33 - Strawberry Swing + 28 - 42 - 23 - Cemeteries of London 18 - Viva La Vida 18 - Death And All His Friends 06 - Lovers In Japan
  17. 6 See It In A Boys Eyes (Jamelia with Chris Martin)
  18. I love the lyrics - simple but really uplifting. It's definately one of my faves on the album
  19. And how was Wall-E?
  20. Parachutes Yellow: Oh yeah you're skin and bones, turned in to something beautiful Rush of Blood Warning Sign: So I crawl back in to your open arms X&Y Twisted Logic: If somebody made it, someone will mess it up (closely followed by anything from Til Kingdom Come - I just thought my list was already to sappy) Viva La Vida Violet Hill: And the Fox became God (since I read what it means in Rolling Stone)
  21. 1 - AROBTTH: I agree with those who think "A Whisper" is the only low point, it's always felt like filler to me 2 - VLV: this may well be number one by the end of the year, but I don't like to rush these decisions 3 - Parachutes: lovely and an extremely impressive debut, it just lacks a little anger 4 - X & Y: have come to apreciate this more over the last couple of months and there are a couple of absolute beauts on there... but I agree it's too long (and a bit vague)
  22. 7 Beach Chair with Jay-Z (does that count?)
