This is getting fucking ridiculous.
Just correcting: The TDX rules says that TV show episodes with up to 30 minutes must have 175MB (233MB with 23-30 minutes is also acceptable), episodes with 30-50 should have 350MB and episodes with more than 50 minutes must have 700MB for every hour, (550MB with 50-60 minutes is also acceptable); the resulting AVI file must always fit into a CD (if it doesn't, it should be divided in multiple files). And a hint to the thread creator: try getting an account for a private tracker, like TorrentLeech (for TV shows, movies, and games) and What.CD (for music).

software to split 1 large mp3 file?
If your file is already in MP3, I suggest mp3DirectCut. It cuts MP3 files without re-encoding. If your file is in another lossy file, try Googling it and you might find out how to cut the file without re-encoding. If your file is lossless, stick with Audacity.

MP3 players with loudspeaker.
1st: That radiation thingy is bullshit. 2nd: It's pretty easy to adapt a TRS cable (or even a cheap earplug) to be connected directly to standard speakers. Cut the TRS cable (or cheap earplug) and you'll have two tiny little cables inside it: usually , the white one carries the positive part of the left channel and the red one carries the positive part of the right channel. And you'll have tiny little copper wires around the tiny little cables. They carry the negative part of its cables' channel (and also work as Faraday cages). Just plug each cable to its respective plug in the speakers and be happy!

In your opinion, what's the best audio codec?
Hey! I've been researching about the best (a.k.a. "most efficient") audio codec avaliable out there. And I got to a conclusion: aoTuV. aoTuV is an abbreviation for Aoyumi's Tuned Vorbis. As the name says, it's an improved version of Vorbis. PS: Geeky stuff below. If you're not geek nor audiophile, just jump to the final conclusion. I've tested this codec with many songs. In this example, I'll be using Radiohead's Planet Telex. 1st file: 01 Planet Telex.mp3 (4,33 MB) The codec used was LAME 3.98r, new VBR encoding, V6 VBR switch. Dividing the filesize in kilobits (35495,2 kilobits) by its lenght in seconds (259 seconds), we get its average bitrate, which is of about 137,04 kbps. 2nd file: 01 Planet Telex.ogg (3,71 MB) The codec used was aoTuV b5.7, VBR encoding, q3.5 VBR switch. Dividing the filesize in kilobits (35495,2 kilobits) by its lenght in seconds (259 seconds), we get its average bitrate, which is of about 117,51 kbps. This doesn't mean anything. Yet. I made an ABX test to myself, and the aoTuV audio seamed clearer. But the only way to confirm the ABX result was with an Spectral Frequency Display of each file. Guess what? (From now on, Spectral Frequency Display is simply "SFD") SFD of the first file As you can see, the lossy-compression cutoff is at 16kHz. Argh, my ears! SFD of the second file The lossy-compression cutoff is at 18kHz. Any sound above 18kHz would never be heard anyway. It rocks, doesn't it? This shows that: 1: MP3 is only popular because it was the first audio container [because, then, the most popular MP3 codec was FhG]. It's compression algorithm sucks! 2: aoTuV is a big improve from Vorbis, its "father", which is already a great codec. FINAL CONCLUSION (yes, this is where you, non-geeky person, continues reading): aoTuV is way more efficient than LAME, the most popular audio codec. aoTuV allows better audio quality with smaller bitrates (and smaller filesize) when compared to LAME. Now, what's YOUR opinion?

Any Coldplay Fans in Antarctica?
You're right and wrong at the same time. According to Wikipedia, as of 2009, eleven children were born in Antarctica. But it's impossible to be "Antarctian", because Antarctica is divided by the Antarctic Treaty System. Of the eleven children born there, eight were born in argentinian territory and three in chilean territory. @jbarry5503: Well, good luck with your project! EDIT: Just a small correction. Of the eleven children born in Antarctica, only one (Emilio Marcos Palma) was actually born in the continent. The other ones were born in close islands (which are part of the territory of Antarctica).

worth buying 5.1 system?
If the main utility for your 5.1 system will be listening to music then hell yeah, otherwise don't waste your money. In my case, for example, 98% of my DVD collection is made of music DVDs.

Learn Assorted Languages With Assorted Coldplayers
@rush: Just some correction... You said that, if you're talking to a portuguese person, you hvte to use "tu", and if you're talking to a brazilian you have to use "você". Actually, you can use both. Since none of them is wrong, you'll be understood anyway. It's true that most brazilians prefer "você", but people living in the southern states of Brazil, like me (I live in Rio Grande do Sul) prefer "tu", just like portuguese people
