  1. I like it, but I think it was because my expectations were low... I mean, from last album the only video that I really liked was Talk, Speed of Sound and Fix You were boring and unoriginal to me, and The Hardest Part... well, one of the worst videos that I have seen in my whole life! So I wasn't expecting anything exceptional this time. If there is going to be a "Viva la Vida" video, I really expect something epic for that one, I mean that song has such a great potential for a spectacular video, that if it turns to be another simple, boring, band-focused video I'm gonna be really disappointed.
  2. I agree... although LIT could change when I hear the album version
  3. Lol. When I read that title on the main page, I wasn't paying a lot of attention on what I was reading and I half-thought… “oh, what a smart girl is Apple Martin..." :laugh3:
  4. I like it, simple and not the most original thing in the world (like many other Coldplay videos) but nice, I want to watch the whole video.

4. A Spell a Rebel Yell.
  7. Come on people you need to improve your searching skills... The video is again online in that famous video site, also I have seen a rapidshare working link, and a torrent of the song.
  8. Yes, I hope that's not true, it looks like it's a tradition for them to close their tours here in Mexico, I wish they could come earlier this time, I don't want to be the last one . Come on, there are going to be 50 shows for USA and Canada, it's not very difficult to do another little show here, we are very close to that countries. I miss the old q&a section on coldplay.com, I was always asking Debs since X&Y came out "When is Coldplay coming to Latinamerica?" She was probably tired of everybody asking that over and over again, but maybe it helped a little bit to make them do that little tour in 2007 :P
  9. I really liked Violet Hill, not too much at beginning but kept growing everyday, (but not enough to consider it one of the best CP songs). A Spell a rebel yell… I liked the 30 secs clip but when the full version came out I realize that all the song was the same and it didn’t excite me too much (anyway it’s just a b-side). But this song, well it’s great!, I don’t have words to describe how much I like this song. After only 15 or 20 listens I think I’m totally in love with it. Like I said for VH and ASARY, this sounds completely different from any other of their past work (including that two songs), but opposite to VH and ASARY this one really got that unique magic that songs like “Clocks” or “I Ran Away” have. Even I think it has already entered in my personal Coldplay Top 10 (For only some hours of hearing it, it's a lot to say ). I’m also surprised how different this song is from Violet Hill, of course musically this one was so “Rock” and Viva la Vida is like “Orchestral/Pop”, but the thing that surprised me the most it’s the way it makes you feel… VH is kind of depressing, and that’s not something bad, sometimes you want to listen to a depressing song, but VLV is such a happy and bright song, it puts you in a really good mood when you hear it. The only thing that troubles me a little bit (and seeing other posts I’m not the only one) is that VLV sounds more like the new single from Chris Martin’s solo album… and in fact all three songs that we have hear so far doesn’t sound too much like Coldplay… I like that new sound and all, but I really hope that VLVODAAHF has at least two or tree songs that sound like “Old Coldplay”.
  10. Sounds great!! Totally different from Violet Hill, and at the same time different from any other thing that Coldplay has done. I'll be waiting for the complete song.
  11. I was thinking exactly the same thing about 42! I’m really excited about that song, I think it could be the new “Yellow” or “Clocks” (or if it's true what Chris said even bigger) not in terms of how they sound, because I think it will sound completely different, but in that feeling that makes a song a “hymn”.
  12. I'm the one he's referring to, but I think he totally misunderstood me. Of course I didn’t compare Coldplay with Gym Class Heroes, Coldplay is one of the greatest bands of the last years (and my favorite one) and Gym Class Heroes is just another shitty and mediocre band out there, the two bands are in a complete different level. I was just saying that the only thing I didn’t like so much of Violet Hill was the rhythm of the song in some parts, that it even reminded me of Maroon5 or the chorus of that Gym Class Heroes song... but that was just to make a dumb comparison to emphasize why I didn't like that part. In fact after a few more listens to Violet Hill I’m starting to like that rhythm. Sorry if someone was bothered with my comments, but when I make a review or give my opinion in something like a song, album, concert, movie, book, videogame, etc. I tend to make comparisons, and I think that's not bad, it's just that when I have something new it always reminds me of other things.
  13. 29th April. It’s 6:30 a.m. (12:30 p.m. GMT) and I’m lying in my bed awake, neither work nor school makes me wake up this early but Coldplay did, I was not planning it I just woke up against my will… I know the song is already on the webpage for downloading but the computer is in another room and I’m feeling too sleepy to go so I decided to listen to the radio and see if they play it, and thankfully they did at that time, after they announce they’ll play it, I’m completely awake in two seconds and so started the song… it starts with than environmental sound and then that extremely familiar voice but at the same time it sounded really different, and after the “…white snow” a heavy guitar riff “tatan-tatan”… OMG is it really Jonny’s guitar???…. It’s sounds sooooooooo different…. I continue listenting and I really like what I’m hearing although I’m not able to make an opinion at the end of it… definitely I need to hear it again. I downloaded and put it on my ipod and I listened to it most of the day. The truth is that I’m still not sure of my opinion of it… definitely I like it, but in some moments I think “wow this is completely awesome, these guys are geniuses” and in other moments I think “Yeah it’s good but it’s nothing really amazing and in fact I think it’s too pretentious”… I think I need a couple of days to completely processing it, but I think I’ll be a something in the middle of my two opinions. My fav part, the bam bam bam bam with the drums, yeah I think it’s nothing really original I have heard it on another songs, in fact is like the beginning of Politik only than slower, but anyway it’s still cool and hearing it live should sound really great (I can even imaging the lights on the stage going on and off, and everyone nodding their heads). Probably the part that I like less is the general rhythm of the song, it sounds like the Mtv review said “Maroon5-ish” and in fact it reminded me also a little bit of Gym Class Heroes song Cupid Chockehold’s chorus. :P Definitely it’s a good first single, I’m not really fan of Coldplay’s first singles, I have though that they always sounds like a bad copy of the most successful song of the previous album (In My Place – Yellow, Speed of Sound – Clocks) and fortunately this doesn’t sound like anything in X&Y… well, after hearing Violet Hill many times I realized that the end of the song is very similar to the end of Fix You… but I think that’s the only part :P As my final comment I can say that after hearing this, I think VLVODAAHF will be an excellent album, I like the direction that they are taking, and like on the past albums I suposse they will use the strongest track for the 2nd or 3rd single… And I hope that Coldplay detractors stop saying things like “They are pop music” or “They always sound the same”… because Violet Hill showed that neither of those two things are true.
  14. I didn’t like it too much, I prefer any of the 3 old covers… I don’t like the idea of taking something that already exists and just add it something else, it’s not very original to me… but I think the important thing is the music and that’s what we are gonna hear tomorrow with Violet Hill. Besides of the other 3 artworks the one I like less is “A Rush Of Blood To The Head” and that 's my favorite CD, so the fact that I didn’t like this one could be a good sign.
  15. I think Violet Hill will not leak (although we are a day and a half away from hearing it, so it’s not big deal now), but I think that the album will do, although I think that will be one week or so before the release date.
  16. The premiere will be 6:00 am in my country and even though I love Coldplay, there is no power in the world that makes me wake up at that time excepting if it's something absolute necessary. So I think I’m just gonna wake up a little bit earlier than usual, I will look for a link of a ripped mp3 version and download it, put it on my ipod and I will listen to it over and over again the rest of the day
  17. Maybe that Monday Premiere in Mexico is because all that “Viva la Vida” thing, as they used something Mexican for the album title, they want the world premiere to be here. Seriously, although I’m a regular reader of Sopitas blog and I know it’s a reliable source, I think he may be wrong this time, probably just a finger mistake or anything, and we are gonna get the song on Tuesday like the rest of the world. Anyway it’s just a day and I think that after a couple of years of not hearing anything new from Coldplay I can survive one more day. In any case I will check Reactor on Monday to see if there is a nice surprise.

Hello there! My name is Laura and I'm from Mexico, I'm new here…. well kind of... I had already got an account some time ago, but I don’t remember it… well the truth it’s that I never posted anything I just used it for downloading stuff from the multimedia section :P. I’m a huge Coldplay fan, I liked them since I first heard Yellow in 2001 but became a fan a couple of years later and since then it’s my favorite band, and sometimes I think I’m a little bit obsessed with them… I have all CDs and DVD, downloaded all b-sides and rare live songs that I have found, and of course all videos and concerts, and when they came here last year I spend most of that weekend outside their hotel… and thanks to that I saw Chris Martin and got an autograph on my A Rush of Blood to the Head CD (now is one of my biggest treasures). Unfortunately I have some frustration respecting seeing them live, because although I have already see them, It was only one time and I was in a seat almost at the back, and they have come to my country twice and giving two concerts each time, so there have been 3 Coldplay concerts in my city that I have not attended  … anyway I hope that this new tour will end with my frustration because I have promised that I’m gonna be in the first rows even if I have to sleep outside the venue to get it. Well after my long, boring story I just wanna say that now that really exciting weeks and months for all Coldplay fans are coming I hope I can post a little bit more than the last time
