  1. It does not hurt that the song is about a girl either :) We are in sore need of heroins in the media! :)
  2. Music genres aside, all I can see is their music getting more layered, more happy with more percussions and more Jonny and violins. They will always still have their acoustic moments (see MTM and UATW), but I really don´t see the new direction as being anything more than evolution of sound.

I have absolutely nothing against Para para Paradise. So he is repeating the first half of the word: big deal. hehe I really can't see the problem with that. It´s catchy as well
  4. I am wary of the limited definition: it might mean limited amount of copies or it just might mean special edition always available. I guess we will see. Anyone can advise me on courier or standard shipping? Sorry for sounding paranoid, but I REALLY want this for Christmas :(
  5. I think Will agrees alright...he was the one back in the day that was experimenting with techno drums hehe :P
  6. Thanks for the clarification :) I did mean popular indeed, but I can see that the wiki definition of pop music is not too far from what I think Jay-Z does, so I basically still don´t think something is necessarily of lower quality because it´s pop, popular or perceived to be mainstream
  7. Change is by definition unpredictable. They could make a jazz album in 3 years time that I might not like, but as I know Coldplay, I need to be prepared for whatever change they might go through because this is who they are. I have learnt not to get attached to a particular style or album, all the way from Parachutes.
  8. If what you are saying it´s true , then Viva too was the product of EMI masterminds as already then you could see where Coldplay was going (see Lost). Jay-Z...Girls Aloud as opening act. Need I say more?
  9. Everyone that likes the MX era is huddling together in one or two forums I can see hehe We sing a rebel song hehe :)
  10. If YouTube and Twitter response is anything to go by, this might do very well in the radio! I might be the only one here, but I love the lyrics: simple but directly to the heart!
  11. This. I also feel genuinely sorry for those people who keep wishing something in the style of Parachutes and never get it. With Coldplay it´s either you embrace change or you find another band that´s more "reliable". And I also did not think this new direction was unexpected: they were heading towards it all the way and hints abounded.
  12. Could not agree more. No one owns Coldplay and they don´t owe us anything ,except doing what they do passionately and painstakingly and that´s what they have always been doing!
  13. Yes! Every time I start the song I can hear Chris saying "Here we goooooo!!" just before the bass kicks it hehe
  14. Definitely not on your own. MX songs lovers are here and well! I feel a few people who are thoroughly disappointed by the new direction might want to sit this one out, cuz I think if you don´t like the likes of Paradise and ETIAW you won´t like MX much...
  15. Pop as in popular...Jay-z is popular :) As for Rhianna, a matter of tastes but she is not my favorite.
  16. I don´t think there is such a thing as overproduction, just good or bad production :) No harm in using a lot of instruments, effects, etc as long as it benefits the song. I really start to think that people who don´t like MX songs might be preferring acoustic/slow music to anything else, which is fine, but it is a personal preference and not Coldplay´s fault for not meeting your personal expectations

Hey nothing to be ashamed of there hehe I thought of Falling Down as well as soon as I heard that sentence. :)
  18. Ah I am not the only thinking of how the tracks are gonna flow into each other. Thank god for the sandwich break between part 1 and part 2, because side A will already blow us away! And Ronnie: you are not alone. I love EVERYTHING about MX as well: I think it´s gonna be epic!
  19. What a surprise...people not liking Coldplay´s choice of video director ;) I don´t mind the Viva video, even though it is not my favorite
  20. Courier or standard? I am torn. Any other non-UK ordering the pop edition?
  21. Ok Maybe I am being paranoid, but I chose standard shipping and I am wondering whether it would arrive in time for Christmas? :O Have you chosen standard or courier?
  22. Subjectivity at its best here...I think Paradise really sounds like Coldplay. I always associated Coldplay with music that could move me and could make me soar. They have not disappointed me yet.
  23. I think what Chris meant was to work HARD for the audience, in order to do the best they possibly can. That´s how I interpreted anyway. After all if Coldplay really only wanted to please, they would have replicated their successful albums again and again... I think they are true to themselves: they would not keep changing if they were not. BTW a lot mods disappointed about the direction of MX. I feel sad on your behalf: I can imagine how hard it must be for a long-time fan. I can only hope that you will be judging the songs for what they are and not for what direction/genre or audience you think they are aimed towards.
  24. I like how people are coming back to the forums to stand up for Coldplay´s new direction hehe
