No one can tell which songs get stuck in people´s consciousness for years to come, but the formula for yellow is not very different from Paradise: slow verse, catchy chorus, epic instrumentation, Coldplay stamp of approval :)

Haha I am a certified sucker for deluxe editions, packed with juicy stuff. I just can´t resist and the thought that it will be all wrapped up under the christmas tree makes me glow with happiness :D

I think Eno had less influence on this album than he did on Viva, so I don´t think the new direction can be attributed to him. Maybe it is hard to accept but this is just what the guys want to do now :)

Mylo Xyloto. I agree with Chris: it´s fresh

I am baffled at some people saying "Hey just because I don´t like every single song, that doesn't mean I am not a Coldplay fan!". This is not what´s happening on MX. It´s not one song: it´s several songs, together with the title, the style, the collaborations, the clothes, etc....There HAS been an unusual large amount of negative reactions to MX era: I am just saying let´s admit it because that´s the truth and it´s not only about one song ...:)

I think a lesson we can all learn: be wary of expectations

I must agree about a lot people feeling like Coldplay owe them to be a certain way, but I guess that´s the price to pay when you keep changing like Coldplay do: some people will get hurt

I respect that you don´t like the new direction, but to say they are selling out to the mainstream is a speculation with no foundation whatsoever. Just say you don´t like the new stuff: that´s fair enough, but questioning their integrity is unfair.

I believe the fact that Coldplay can write songs like Amsterdam and Paradise at the same time is mind-blowing and proof that they have a lot of talent. They choose what direction they want to take and artistically they can go anywhere, across any genre.

I hardly think EMI had anything to do with Rhianna being in the song. I read in an article that Chris asked her personally after a show if she could feature in their new song.
